Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a fenced pond 50 yards away.. The perfect choice for a relaxing holiday, this tranquil retreat will appeal to all. Nestled on the edge of the small hamlet of Eastleigh, within glorious countryside and just 2 miles from the pretty waterside village of Instow and just 3 miles from the wide sandy surfing beach at Westward Ho!. These two delightful converted holiday cottages, beside the owners’ sheep farm, enjoy spectacular country views. Each has its own patio, perfect for a lazy breakfast as well as shared garden and some access to the farm with pretty walks to enjoy. Instow is an unspoilt, seaside village with large stretches of sandy beaches and dunes, fishermen’s cottages, shops, pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. Bideford with its historic port and lively market as well as the Lundy Island ferry is 2 miles. The area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen, walkers and cyclists can enjoy the famous Tarka Trail. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

I booked this cottage rather last dt minute and didn't give it much thought, so was blown away by how large and luxurious it was, and how peaceful the setting. It was warm (despite the weather being very cold) and there seemed be endless, silky hot water. I enjoyed getting up early and watching the day dawning over the frosty fields. Barn Owl is well equipped with all the mod cons in a working farm setting. There is more than enough space inside and out for the whole family. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and left us to enjoy our holiday but was only a phone call away if we needed them. We was offered a tour of the farm Which was great and our daughter particularly liked petting the calves. If you like peace and quiet and only ten minutes drive from local shops and bars etc then this is the place for you. I have recommended Barn Owl to friends and therefore would recommend to anyone. Really enjoyed a great week at the cottage.

Really enjoyed a great week at the cottage. Lots of space and well equipped. Close to Westward Ho beach for kids and surfing and other days trips to Croyde and Combe Martin. The owners were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to return for a holiday again!

We had a great time, best week away for a long time! Superb location, everything close by and Catherine & John were fantastic hosts. Our daughter loved the lambs and calfs! Beaches on the North Devon coast are mind blowing, not that busy either but it was a little out of season. Lynton and Lynmouth were always well worth a visit. Just a great break in a fabulous location. We'll certainly be back!
