Best Access to Hadrian's Wall

The Haytongate Barn is the perfect country getaway in a beautiful area, spacious and well furnished, clean and comfortable. A warm wood burning stove was an added bonus. Hadrian's Wall runs right to the property, a perfect starting point for 'hiking the wall' . Close to Brampton for shopping and restaurants, it has it all. Would love to return some day for another visit.

Booked at short notice and wasn't disappointed. Great accommodation and excellent location for walking. Only one niggle... Flagstones to front door very slippery but that was all. Had a lovely time away. Thanks to the owner. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The barn was very nice, the contact number for evenings was unobtainable, the road leading up to the barn was terrible, one stretch had no tarmac and was all potholes, it was so bad that I fractured my front wheel and had to get it welded and a new tyre cost £110 . Something needs to be done about the road. It spoiled a very good holiday.

We had a lovely stay surroundings lovely.

We had a lovely stay surroundings lovely. We stayed on a couple of extra night's because it was so peaceful. Owner laid back and accommodating. I would return if a few changes could be made firstly a deep clean to get rid of ant problem in hall and kitchen pretty bad. Secondly the bed in double room is a bit lumpy and hard. Thirdly need a couple of more pillows in double room and finally a good high dusting of walls stonework and beams to get rid of spiders webs as this could put people off. We made the most of the break as we hadn't had one since late last year. It is a lovely barn conversion and dogs loved the outdoors so peaceful and quiet. Has everything you need even a child gate to stop dogs getting upstairs. Brampton is a short drive away for spar, co op, pharmacy great wee fruit and veg shop that gives you brown paper bags to put your items in. Great gin selection at Howard Hotel. A drive to l9ngtown you can catch the hidden river cabins cafe which serves great good staff friendly.
