Great, quirky property in a really nice location. Would definitely recommend for access to Thetford and the surrounding area. Having a castle in the garden is a novelty too. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had lovely holiday! Cottage was nice and felt very cosy. Linen was clean and fresh. Bathrooms nice and warm. Location was good but we had to travel about and 50-60 min to get to desired activity destinations. There is tiny local shop but we got most of our stuff in supermarkets on the way back from our trips. Local pub get's busy over the weekend so good to book your table in advance. Castle was also very nice. Norfolk is wonderful part of England and well worth exploring. The only improvement could be done on securing the gates for small dogs and perhaps giving the kitchen and bathroom little touching up. Little BBQ and garden furniture would also help to enjoy the outdoor space much more during the summer. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

I Booked St Mary’s chapel as a little get away for 2 friends and myself for a much needed catch up.. The cottage was perfect for what we wanted We felt very safe that all the Covid precautions had been stuck to .. ( even the bed sheets smelt lovely) It also has comfy mattresses and plump pillows and a well equipped kitchen ( we cooked a full on Sunday roast and everything we needed to do this was there. Underfloor heating was perfect.. and the added bonus of a woodburner made going away in October No problem.. ( I did bring extra wood with us as I wasn’t sure if getting more locally would be a bother, but for a small fee they had some on site) On the whole we had a fabulous time in a very quirky historic cottage ( with its on private castle) Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An amazing place to stay.

An amazing place to stay. We did not want to leave. A lovely welcome pack awaiting and lots of extras. Only one downside and that was that were was only one cupboard to hang clothes in and that was for everyone so maybe add a wardrobe or hanging rails. Lovely location and good walks for our dog. We can't wait to go back.

Absolutely wonderful and magical.

Absolutely wonderful and magical. I've stayed in many places but none so fabulous as this. Having the key to the castle made the holiday extra special. Having two wc's was very practical. The shower was just fantastic. The bed linen was beautifully fresh, clean smelling and lovely. The pillows were sumptuous ( I'm arranging a special trip to IKEA to get some myself!) The chapel was very warm considering the size of it, and that was without the underfloor heating on. All in all a fabulous holiday that made us feel very special.

The cottage is excellent with everything we wanted apart from a secure garden, one gate was not able to be closed, so hence the dropped marks. However the local walks were fantastic and the welcome pack lovely. Like any historical building there were cobwebs etc and given it was near the end of the season very clean. Loved it

We really enjoyed staying at St Mary's.

We really enjoyed staying at St Mary's. The building was spacious, the kitchen was big and practical, the shower was really powerful, two toilets which is handy with a large group of people. The building was warm and cosy. The castle round the corner is well worth seeing. Excellent value!

The photos of the property on the website really do not do this amazing property justice.

The photos of the property on the website really do not do this amazing property justice. They don’t really give a sense of the sheer size and grandeur. The building has been sympathetically converted and retains a property sense of its history and beauty. The owners make a huge effort to ensure all instructions for facilities are clearly written and they’re handy lamented info sheets everywhere. Super handy. Lots of extra bedding and towels if needed. Brilliant power shower that is hard to tear yourself away from. The kitchen is well stocked with gadgets and all you may possibly need. All the beds were very comfortable. The best thing about this property though is the sheer size. Even with eight people we had plenty of space and never felt on top of each other. Pease consider this place if you are looking for a special unique place to stay. A car is essential though as the facilities in the village are limited - food shopping etc. Having our own keys to the castle was a treat. We will definitely return again. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!!

We booked as two families (4 adults & 4 children) and used StMarys Chapel as a base from which to explore Norfolk! We Absolutely loved the charecter of the chapel! It is very open plan, but we understood this when we booked. The bread, butter & homemade marmalade etc left for us when we arrived was also a nice touch! And it is well equipped! Access to the ruined castle was fantastic and our children absolutely loved visiting it and playing there! Everything we wanted to visit was a fair drive, but again this was no problem for us! The local village has a little shop and lovely pub with childrens outdoor play area. Would thoroughly recommend!
