If you are looking for seclusion or a place way from it all this is it, Port Colmon Farmhouse for us

If you are looking for seclusion or a place way from it all this is it, Port Colmon Farmhouse for us was an excellent choice. Its one of those very few places which has everything you need, we did our shopping before we left home and needed nothing apart from the odd ice cream after a long days walking along the coastal path, we found that ice-cream 200m up the road at the local shop.

Amazing spot for a family holiday.

Amazing spot for a family holiday. The house had everything we needed, and we all loved the hot tub and proximity to the beach. The only thing I would alter would be to lose the dark patterned carpet throughout the main living space - it reduced the sense of light and space in the room, and also made it very hard to find my son's Lego pieces!

We picked the location as it was quiet.

We picked the location as it was quiet. My granddaughter has autism and severe learning disabilities. She normally doesn't settle anywhere but she absolutely loved it.

Fantastic location.

Fantastic location. Cottage was fine for the off-peak season price we paid but we felt it could do with a little attention to the maintenance and cosmetics (for example, there was heavy rain while we were there and the bedroom window leaked in; the paintwork in the bathroom was falling off under the window). Some appliances didn't work (electric heater) or were troublesome (whenever we used the toaster it tripped the fuse). No hairdryer - take your own. Having said that, you're getting a cottage in a beautiful, tranquil setting; the hot-tub is a delight and the beds were amongst the comfiest we've slept in. We would go back, happily.

We had a lovely midweek break as a family, it is very remote which we where aware before we went, we where going to eat out first night but decided maybe just to cater in and grab a few bits from a local shop however we discovered Everywhere closes early, when we headed out at 645pm into Aberdaron ! We passed an honesty box with fresh eggs and with the couple of pasta and sauces, crisps and cereals we had a mix of tea on first night! Made it fun!! Then we had a tesco delivery delived early tues am! It's very tranquil and peaceful with beautiful scenery, the beach path closest i believed was quite steep and muddy, my husband ventured first morning with dog and our eldest and they both had a few slips and slides however there is a short walk to the beach with details in the cottage which made it much easier! Beach is beautiful as they all are around there, the kids where playing in the sea , fully clothed in febuary so was grateful of the washing machine !! They also saw an octopus in a rock pool which was facinating and awaiting its journey back out to sea!! Cottage is lovely really traditional and comfortable, very well equipped and lovely comfy beds! Heating was fab house felt warm all the time anyhow! Hot tub was lovely kids loved it especially! Maybe an outdoor light may help as it was nice to pop in early evening which goes dark early in feb so took my head torch with a magazine!! ? only other thing i would suggest with hot tub is maybe some rattan / something around fenced area to allow more privacy from the cottage next door, as it's overlooked, WiFi was fine for searching stuff/emails however unable to watch a film /Netflix but to be fair we really enjoyed playing board games etc and having the family time! Roads around and about are narrow, was very quiet so never an issue for us ! Took a trip to whistling sands beach too which was beautiful! Lovely gentleman arrived on last morning to empty and clean hot tub to refill ready for next guests and was a lovely chatty man, Overall a lovely relaxing week in beautiful surroundings!

Had a fab few days here just what we needed and would definitely go back again, we thought absolutel

Had a fab few days here just what we needed and would definitely go back again, we thought absolutely brilliant no shops but as we got there at 5pm we decided to leave the log burner till Saturday then when we came to do it there were no fire lighters. We tried the phone no a couple of times but no answer, we went to abersoch Sunday to visit so got some from the shop. Also the hot tub was running at 34 deg, we tried to follow the instructions but nothing happened, a maintenance guy came on Sunday night and tried but nothing changed, he came back Monday before we left to say he was changing the pump or heater so hopefully all will be well now, my partner went in it, I just couldn’t tolerate the Luke warm which is a shame as the whole weekend was a surprise for my partners 50th. Thankfully the location, quietness and beauty all around was exceptional ?
