The owners were very welcoming and accommodating.
The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We had everything we needed. Location is peaceful and idyllic on the lake and is really easy to get to. We felt safe and secure behind the gates. The bed was super comfortable and the house was super clean. We didn’t venture out much but there is a nearby shopping/outlet centre about half hour away Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

An ideal & idyllic location if you want to get away from it all - the score for "local amenities" can probably be discounted if you do. It's about a mile from Finchingfield (usual village resources) but down a tiny country road & then a byway. Lovely setting, very pleasant & helpful hostess (the fresh eggs and tomatoes were very much appreciated). Equipment-wise, it arguably has everything you need - I would have liked a DVD player (having brought some DVDs, just in case), but the super-duper new TV is "smart", and I guess for most people DVDs have been superseded by streaming. Very comfortable bed. The sofa is of the "squishy" variety, which I don't much care for, but which I think most people prefer. I'm just an old misery. We were made welcome by Helen & David.
We were made welcome by Helen & David. We found the accommodation was a bit chilly of an evening being that it was mid August. There was a small electric fire. It would have been nice if there were a few games to while away time when weather was wet and windy. The ground is quite large (ideal for twitters) and the lake would probably be used by keen fishermen. The location was a bit of a nightmare, road works and diversion signs, road closures. Diversion signs very misleading one pointing right the other left with no indication of what the end destination would be - ok if you are a native - About a mile away there is one pub Finchinfield Lion which serves a good meal. All in all our short stay wasn't too bad! WIFI kept dropping off.

Very pleasant property and an enjoyable stay. Poor WiFi signal and no direct access to a washing machine the only minuses. Definitely recommend for access to surrounding countryside attractions.

This is a very nice little cottage near Finchingfield.
This is a very nice little cottage near Finchingfield. The rural setting with its own fishing lake, ducks and chickens is very agreeable. However, it is therefore quite a distance to the amenities in Finchingfield, we had to use the car to get the paper in the morning. The cottage is very well equipped, with a very spacious bathroom with nice blue-and-white tiles, and a very comfortable bed. The living space annex the well equipped kitchen is a bit small. Because all the windows were small and a bit high in the walls there is no view from the living space, other than overlooking the communal garden. The garden is to be shared with the owners, who live next door, but they are very nice people, so no bother about that. In short: a very amendable cottage, expecially for nature lovers who like the peace and quiet of a rural setting.
