Cosy cottage

Well located cottage which covered virtually all of the basics well. Seems odd in this day and age that there is no wifi offered...we ended up paying Vodafone for a mobile broadband widget to cover this.

Stayed here at least once a year for 15 years. Could do with a good deep clean. The double bed is uncomfortable and the sheets never fit properly alway come untucked in the night. The garden is ideal for the two dogs. We are back again for two weeks Easter. Love the cosy cottage. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Overall a nice comfortable cottage.

Overall a nice comfortable cottage. It is situated on the main road but we didn't find the traffic a problem and has private sunny garden at the rear. The cottage has good facilities although it is a little dated in places. Surprisingly there was no Wi-Fi which unusual now and would have been useful for making online bookings at restaurants etc which are necessary these days. The cottage was very clean on our arrival but we needed to de-scale the kettle before we felt happy to use it. We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and relaxing cottage and would recommend it as a good base for exploring the north Norfolk coast and the local countryside. Barmstone is ideally situated for the Brancaster coast, Wells, Hunstanton, Holkham etc. It's a nice comfortable cottage and perfect base however the utensils in the kitchen could do with some updating and whilst clean and tidy the floor hadn't been cleaned properly, which we did upon arrival. All in all we will use it again as we have before.

The cottage is perfectly placed for access to the beach being opposite the road to it but it does sit on a busy noisy road during the week. The Ship Pub is excellent and only a few yards away but no shops in the village. The cottage itself is a bit tired, it was refurbished over 30 years ago and it looks it, more shabby than chic. The back garden gets a lot of sun but only has a table and 4 chairs, would have been nice to be able to relax in it with a couple of sun loungers. Little things like winter quilts in July, no Wi-Fi & really thin bedroom curtains so awake at the crack of dawn were a bit annoying. A good cottage if your priorities are just the beach and pub, personally I prefer a few more creature comforts.

The cottage just needs some attention to detail.

The cottage just needs some attention to detail. Rugs need a clean and sofas could do with replacing as they are very worn out. Kitchen well equipped and everything you need is there. Scary vacuum cleaner cover that could freak you out in the middle of the night!! We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Stayed many times at barmston cottage. The cottage is just a bit grubby it needs a deep clean. Moved the settee and it was grim. Having said that I’m going next Easter for two weeks! 🙂

We have stayed many times at Barmstone over many years.

We have stayed many times at Barmstone over many years. It is a delightful old cottage, very cosy. The only thing that lets it down is the bed that needs a new mattress. The springs can be felt. We end up with back ache at the end of the week. We come back to Barmstone because it works well for us to visit family and we do have a soft spot for the cottage as we have stayed over the last 20 years.

Stayed here for the last 8 years. It needs a bit of an update and a good clean! The window surrounds are really grubby. The storage heaters are very hit and miss. Having had a moan I’m back again in August so it’s not putting me off! ?
