Rose cottage was great for us, a family of two adults and two children 6/9yrs, although literally two rooms and a bathroom (adjoined with wooden doors) we made it our own. The location is on land also used for caravanning and a few other lettings. Amenities were good with shared drying line, washing room and courtyard area, not forgetting the massive field and back walking areas that we felt safe to let our kids explore (whilst watching from the kitchen window after dinner) we roamed all over the south coastal area from this location, often eating in Dorchester in the evenings. From Lyme Regis/Charmouth all the way down in to Weymouth or East to Durdle door or even Swanage. Everything within easy reach. As most of these reviews state there was no oven, a combi microwave is provided yet we never felt the need to use it. The sofa bed is, as previous reviews state, not overly desirable so we padded out under the mattress middle with pillows and throws, making it bearable for the week. We have told the owners of this and they seemed genuinely interested to know this, so perhaps would consider a newer version. The only other issue we had is that the water used by caravaners gets drawn to the field tap via the property. No problem at all until someone decides to fill their units at midnight or early hours, it can be a little noisy. Something again we made the owners aware of. As a whole the cottage was impeccably clean, fully equipped and in a wonderfully central location. We had the BEST time with our kids. Happy Holidays
