The Gower Peninsula with its rolling countryside and miles of unspoilt coastline is the setting for these very comfortable holiday cottages which themselves are set on 30 acres of land. The cottages have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard and are double glazed throughout. Visitors enjoy shared use of a games room with table tennis and a pool table and may relax in the garden area. This cottage adjoins Ty Gwyn and is equipped to similarly high standards with an open plan, beamed living/dining room with rugs on quarry-tiled floor and electric fire set in stone fireplace, perfect for snuggling up in at the end of a busy day. The fitted kitchen is well equipped for the budding chef on holiday. Open tread stairs lead up to the first floor where you’ll find the two bedrooms, one double and one single, along with the shower room. Both bedrooms have sloping ceilings and calming colour palettes, aiding in a good night’s sleep.
A nearby cycle track leads to the Mumbles, which is famous for its lighthouse and lifeboat station and boasts seaside attractions, a pleasant promenade and lots of sailing dinghies and small boats. At Penclawdd (3 miles), cockle fishermen go out on to the mudflats at low tide with horse-drawn carts to rake out the cockle harvest. Many of the Gower’s sandy beaches are backed by dunes, and some offer excellent windsurfing; there are sandy coves with rock pools and the coastal path leads to wonderful cliff-top views. Inland, the sheep and sturdy Gower ponies roam moorlands which offer further opportunities for walks, picnics, riding and birdwatching. There is easy access to many beautiful sandy beaches and coves within 10 miles or so, and opportunities nearby for scenic moorland and coastal walks in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Gowerton, with its shops and pub, and local trains to west and mid Wales, is only half a mile away. The many facilities of Swansea include restaurants, shops, theatres, leisure centre, concert halls, museums, golf courses, extensive parks and gardens. A 30-minute drive leads to the National Botanical Gardens in Carmarthenshire, whilst an 18-hole golf course and a wildlife and wetlands sanctuary are both only ten minutes away by car. Shops ½ mile.
Ty Ysgubor can be booked together with Ty Gwyn (JYY), Ty Berllan (OAB), Ty Llaethdy (OAC) and Ty Cae Mawr (OAD) to accommodate up to 14 guests.

Gowerton farm cottage

Cosy and comfortable and in a great location for exploring the Gower peninsula, Swansea and east Camarthenshire. David was very welcoming and the kitchen supplies ie tea, coffee, dishwasher tabs etc were very generous. We didn't realise when booking that there were 4 other converted farm buildings together but this was not an issue for us. The road was much busier than we thought it would be, but again not an issue for us personally.
Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2020

Charming and helpful host! The cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

Charming and helpful host! The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. There’s a CoOp close by and a large M&S Food within easy drive. The wi-fi is not brilliant but worked ok on my phone. All the Gower attractions are easy to get to by car. Or bike if you’re younger and fitter than I am! Recommend the Brittania Inn (Llanmadoc) for eating out. Great food and astonishingly prompt service. You’ll need to book though - it’s popular!

great position for getting around Gower, a great cottage and a helpful owner; the only down side was the shower, quite small with some mildew along the bottom of the door, but this was our only concern as the rest of the cottage was very clean - I spilt water on the floor but the cloth was still clean when it was wiped up.
