A lovely place.

A lovely place. Great for looking at the stars. Two great pubs nearby that serve great food and dog friendly. The booking office was lovely and clean with all essentials. Only drawbacks not fenced in so couldn’t let our dog out without being on a lead and very sharp turn into the drive. Nothing that would stop us from returning.

Level access (except for shower over bath) however sofa suite too low.

Level access (except for shower over bath) however sofa suite too low. Amenities good including microwave, dishwasher, big TV. Parking ok for 1 car, nice garden area. Water situation not an issue. Fairly well situated for local attractions, local fuel station, takeaways and some shops. Friendly owner and helpful. Recommended.

Lovely little cottage, warm and cosy with well thought out modern amenities such as nest heating, nice shower and induction hob. The extra heated towel rail in the kitchen and fan heater as well as large heated towel rail in bathroom kept these areas toasty and meant there was space for drying stuff in wet weather, again well thought out and came in very handy. Other useful things provided above our expectations like tin foil & cling film for sandwiches, and cleaning products which were all eco friendly. Overall very clean with nice bathroom, although a couple of cobwebs in ceiling corners/ lightshades - understandable in a country cottage with stone walls but had obviously been there a while so missed during routine turnarounds. Fab location, we walked into Coniston via lake shore and up the Old Man of Coniston right from our door, and within easy driving distance of loads of other great places, Tarn Hows, Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Grizedale, all within half an hour or so, and only 20 mins drive to the big Booths supermarket at Ulverstone for supplies. Nice secure garden for dog with pond safely fenced off, if we'd had better weather, I'm sure we'd have made use of the bbq and outdoor seating too. Overall we had a great week and would stay here again.
