For those walkers and cyclists amongst you, this semi-detached property is the perfect place situated right next to the famous Cinder Track; the old railway track that runs over 20 miles between Scarborough and Whitby. After 80 years of service, the line closed in 1965, leaving a wonderful off road route for cyclists and walkers. Enjoy panoramic views out to sea and discover the hidden coves and local villages. Shops are located around 1 mile from the Cinder Warren.

Cinder Warren is a great family property in a very private corner plot which leads straight up to the Cinder Track. With a large grassed area there’s plenty of room for the kids to play football and enjoy the great outdoors. The picnic bench outside overlooks the grassed area so you can watch the children whilst enjoying the sun trap. There are two playgrounds for all the cottages within the small development. Within a 20 minute walk or short bike ride along Cinder Track you can be on the beach in Whitby, a fantastic sandy stretch for traditional family days out by the sea, complete with donkeys, sandcastles, beach huts and good old fish and chips.

The town of Whitby is still very much a bustling working harbour with the fishermen bringing in their catch every morning. The town is full of cobbled streets, quirky shops, good restaurants and local pubs. Whitby Abbey stands on the hillside overlooking the harbour. The resorts of Sandsend, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay are further north, and to the south there’s the large seaside resort of Scarborough with its long promenade running through both bays.

The North York Moors steam railway runs from Whitby down to Pickering, stopping at Goathland (Heartbeat Country). In the late summertime, it’s wonderful to watch the moorland scenery pass by, a wash of purple due to the heather. Stop for an hour or two in Pickering before returning – there’s a thriving weekly market to explore as well as some fine restaurants and street cafés.

A clean and comfotable cottage with a homely touch.

A clean and comfotable cottage with a homely touch. Walking distance to Whitby which was a big advantage as parking in Whitby wasn't easy. Would highly reccommend both the cottage and the surrounding area.
