The Old Forge is a charming stone-built cottage tucked away in a peaceful lane within the historic town of Alnwick. The property is beautifully furnished throughout with much thought, care and attention to detail. The kitchen/dining area is meticulously presented and leads through to a cosy living area where there is a sumptuous corner sofa as well as a comfortable cuddle chair. There is a wide array of amenities available within Alnwick including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops and a variety of pubs. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts), is a popular visitor attraction. Also well worth a visit is Alnwick Gardens; a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe around a mile from The Old Forge.
The Old Forge is an excellent choice for those seeking a superbly presented base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20 mile stretch of Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills can be found to the west. Beach 4 miles. Shop 150 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Excellent location and quality.

We gave this property 5 stars because it couldn't be faulted! Beautifully decorated, well equipped and lovely and warm! The location was superb. A very short walk into town where everything was to hand.
