This charming home was exactly what my daughter and I wanted for a relaxing weekend. The house has plenty of space but still feels cozy and warm. It is stocked with everything - fully equipped kitchen, plenty of blankets, wifi, etc. Its proximity to all the good stuff - hiking, skiing, hot springs - made it the perfect place to stay. Michelle was easy to communicate with and generous in her flexibility. I highly recommend this home!
Staying in this quaint little cottage was going back in time and visiting my grandmother house, but with all the modern updates! The cottage was quiet, clean and very homey. We especially enjoyed the heated mattress warmers! We highly recommend this property!
The house is so cozy and walking distance to the historic downtown. We had a wonderful time and were able to go to Cottonwood and Mount Princeton Hot Springs. Both are minutes away. We celebrated Christmas and the host had a Christmas tree up for us . tree us
The place is cozy and comfortable, the decor is a step back in time and tastefully done! The host, Michelle and her right hand Brook were both on top of any questions or concerns and very kind! Everything was very well stocked, organized and labeled! Great old vinyl collection and so many cool things, and the location was as good as you can get! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your place!
We loved how close and walkable the house was to everything in Buena Vista! The house is well stocked, clean, and in such a nice setting. We really enjoyed just sitting in the backyard enjoying the weather and observing all the mule deer roam around. Would love to stay again!
My funny husky and I stayed there this week. He loved the fenced yard and the neighbors, who we met when the dogs decided to get to know one another. The house was beautifully furnished and super comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay.
Amazing dog friendly place clise to skiing and the best recreation. Host is fantastic and great about communication. Excellent host. We love coming here to stay.
This home is perfect for a stay in Buena Vista. The location was great, it’s close to the downtown and everything is very walkable. We had an absolutely wonderful time and honestly wish we could have stayed longer!
Little house with a retro vibe, and nice yard to hangout in the evenings.Great location with easy walk to downtown and restaurants, and perfect to use as base camp for hiking the collegiate peaks.
Will stay here again.
Interesting, historic home a block from the BV stoplight.
This is a really unusual house, built in 1879 and lived in for 60 years by a schoolteacher known to all of the older residents of BV. Despite its age, the house is comfortable and well-appointed, at least for our June weeklong stay. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s in BV over the years, but this one is special. Would love to go back sometime.
Very central location close to downtown and all the restaurants and shops very nice backyard our dog really enjoyed overall stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed it
This place was absolutely amazing. It was the greatest getaway for a family weekend. Great location, plenty of space, everything you need to cook, and very nostalgic ❤️ In a way I hate to leave this review and have more interested. We will definitely be back.
This house is charming and very comfortable. The location is central to downtown so you can walk. The fenced yard is great for my small dog.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Dieleman
We are from Grand Rapids, Michigan and were born and raised there. We have four adult children and two granddaughters. We came to Buena Vista because our friends own a vacation home here, and we fell in love with the town, the mountains, and the people. We also immediately fell in love with this house when we first saw it and realized it was for sale. We plan on using this home for a retirement getaway and consider it our home away from home already.
Why they chose this property
This home is so full of charm, history, and character, and is located in such a beautiful setting and quaint little town that we couldn't resist the opportunity to live here. It's just an amazing place!!!
What makes this property unique
Being close to the Cottonwood Hot Springs, close to the town, close to the mountains and the Arkansas River. You'll also enjoy seeing all the wildlife.
