Fabulous 'home from home' property

Comfortable with really nice touches that just elevated it to 'something special' - Portmeirion crockery, great art on the walls, subtle lighting, proper comfy furniture to stretch out on. Everything was spot on.
Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2024

We had a lovely week at Little Beck.

We had a lovely week at Little Beck. Very cosy and comfortable, larger than we expected. Very well equipped, a very large, hot shower and the bed was super king size. I loved my early morning walks around the farm and campsite with the dog. Great pub nearby (Troutbeck Inn) and a farm shop down the road selling reasonably priced, local food. A good base to discover the Lakes.

This is a lovely apartment for two people.

This is a lovely apartment for two people. Very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Might be a little out of the way for some people, but we enjoyed the tranquility. The weather wasn’t as warm as anticipated for late June, so the ability to have some heating at times, and the heated towel rail for drying our towels was very welcome, especially as one set of towels had to last all week! We didn’t meet the owner, but had no problems while we were there.

Was a lovely little cottage that was the perfect size for us.

Was a lovely little cottage that was the perfect size for us. It was very clean and only a 10 minute drive to Keswick. The only downside is there wasn't anyway to separate the dog from the living room if she was muddy. They did offer a crate to keep her in but she isn't crate trained so wouldn't have liked it. They need a baby gate really to keep them separated. Other than that it was a lovely little cottage and definitely made the holiday.

This was an absolutely lovely place to stay.

This was an absolutely lovely place to stay. The cottage was very warm and comfortable and had everything we needed including a nice garden to sit out in and relax. It is only a few miles from Penrith in one direction and Keswick in the other where we can get all we need and I think it was less than one mile from Rookin house activity center where I go to horse ride so the location is perfect for us. The only reason we didn't give a 10 for comfort was because the bed is quite firm which took us a couple of nights to get used to but that is just down to our personal preference and it was clearly a very good quality bed. We had a really great week staying here and definitely hope to return in the future if possible.

overall I enjoyed my holiday, only one or two niggles, one bath towel between 2 and the fridge , we could not stand the milk up in it as the door had no useable shelf. As I say only minor things.

Brilliant, couldn't ask for a better stay really.

Brilliant, couldn't ask for a better stay really. Didn't both at all, just gave us the keys pointed us in some walking directions and thats all that was needed. Coffee was provided as other bits as you would expect. The only issue was the bed as it was two singles pushed together which was rather uncomfortable but other than that perfect. Little bit of a window leak upon heavy rain also. Would go back

We had a lovely mid week break at the small apartment/cottage.

We had a lovely mid week break at the small apartment/cottage. We stayed during a cold spell, just after the February snow and found the rooms to be nice and warm. The heating came on in the morning and again late afternoon. The cottage was nice and cosy, with everything you would need for a self catering stay. We found the beds hard mattress to be really comfy and had a great nights sleep. It was nice and quiet with us stopping out of season and our dog enjoyed having a good run about the place. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome. Big thank you to Amanda, who was lovely and for returning our IPad!

Beautiful little cottage.

Beautiful little cottage. The weather was poor while we were there and I had a bad cold but the house was warm and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The cottage is quite isolated, which is fine when the weather is good, but, no fault of the owners - the weather was Baltic when we came. Therefore, there were limited options. We managed a walk in the morning and there's a lovely pub to walk to. Overall, a lovely stay.
