About this property

Lakefront Adirondack Getaway

3 Bedroom Lakefront cottage on Upper Chateaugay Lake. Two Queen beds and Two Twins. New five-burner stove. Refinished bathroom. New sliding doors for easy access to the deck and waterfront. Bedrooms all have new mattresses and new bedding. Large Screen TV for watching movies after a day enjoying the great outdoors. Perfect for a quiet couple's getaway or a family trip with swimming, fishing, and hiking. Gas grill. Hi-speed WiFi. Fire Pit down by the lake.

Nearest grocery stores are in Malone or Plattsburgh so load up the trunk on the way in and fill up the fridge.

Plenty of hiking nearby: Lyon Mountain for a long, slow mildly steep ascent to the top or Birch Hill which is right around the corner and only takes 20-30 minutes for some incredible views.

Lake Placid is 47 miles away - drive is a little over an hour for anyone looking to explore further south in the Adirondacks.

We have resident eagles with growing babies, loons, a fox now and again. Star watching is second to none with the occasional shooting star.

Big boulders on the lake for sitting and soaking up fresh air or great for playing "Pirates" with the kids.

Sunsets that you won't forget!

Camp on Chateaugay Lake

Quaint and Quiet camp on Upper Chateaugay Lake. Nice and modern enough. Two large bedrooms and one smaller. Living space was large enough for the rainy days. The yard and water front were great! Nice fire pit by the lake. Everything a camp in the North Country was from my youth. Great place to stay.

Awesome vacation

My family had an amazing time staying at the lake house. Mark and Kat were wonderful and very responsive. The view from the cottage was stunning and the cottage itself had everything we needed. We appreciate them willing to share their little slice of heaven. Our only complaint is that we didn’t decide to stay longer!

Great stay at the Lake!

Mark’s perfect little blue house was just that… perfect. It sits on the most amazing spot on upper Chateaugay lake. It’s exactly as described and photographed. My husband was working - but thoroughly enjoyed the lake views from his “desk” on the screened in porch. The Internet was fantastic, the beds were comfortable, and the entire place spotless. Mark was a gym to work with

Fantastic Views!!

A wonderful little cabin which was very nicely stocked. The beach was terrific and this Florida girl actually went swimming in the lake. Thank you for the use of property.

Better than I even expected

Mark and Kat have thought of everything! Our stay was very enjoyable, the house was clean and more spacious than anticipated, and we couldn't have been happier.

Great stay on Chateaugay Lake

We had a lovely time at Mark and Kat’s property on Chateaugay Lake. They were very quick to respond to any questions I had. The property had plenty of room for our family of 4. We enjoyed countless hours at the lake and s’mores at the fire pit. If you are looking for a fun week at the lake with family- look no further :)

Lovely Camp

This is a lovely, cozy camp. It was a great place for us to stay, since we have family close by. When we first arrived, the WiFi was not working, due to a lightning strike. Mark was notified and responded immediately. We were back in business a few days later, since we arrived early evening, Saturday, and did not discover the issue until Sunday. Chatteguay Lake is a very beautiful lake, with lots of surrounding mountains, and its own bald eagles. It is also a warm lake in which to swim. All good.

Charming lake house with lovely view

Wonderful view of lake and surrounding mountains. Enjoyed having lake view with sun or shade options (screened porch, deck, or living room) The house was clean and well-supplied. Grateful for wifi. Mark responds quickly to messages. We would definitely like to stay again.

Relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful vacation at the Blue House. The house is very clean, well-equipped and comfortably furnished. The location on the Upper Lake commands an outstanding view that includes Moffat Island. We hope to return next year.

A serene lovely property!

This property had all of the amenities we could need, and before our journey the landlord was most attentive to our questions and concerns. Everything was wonderful..........

Very cute and comfortable place. We really enjoyed our stay. The view is amazing.

Great place. Well decorated and clean. The only 2 improvements I suggest are: a docking area for visitors with boats, and a fire pit.

About the host

I have been coming up to Chateaugay Lake for 20 years and my in-laws have been coming up for over 40 years. I come up here to get away from city life. I live in Boston and have been coming up here every summer since I graduated from college.

Why they chose this property

My mother-in-law spent her youth in this part of NY. And it just so happens that my in-laws own the home next door. It's a much different feel than bigger more popular lakes such as Lake George or Lake Sunapee. Its a real break from city life and congestion.

What makes this property unique

We love this little house because it became our little project. We painted, added new furniture, redid the bathroom ourselves, did the landscaping ourselves, and made it quaint little cottage that we think is perfect for the setting. And we hope people will come and enjoy it and appreciate the setting as much as we do.
