Ringing in the New Year

The main house was great - plenty of room in each bedroom (and all had en-suite baths) and our party of 6 couples was able to spread out. Kitchen was well appointed and dining area in the main house was plenty big for us. Then we moved to what we affectionately called the “conference center” which was a whole other living area on its own. We spent a ton of time there cooking (full kitchen including grill), game area, and just a fun place to relax. Lauren was a great host - met us at the property to check us in and was super responsive throughout. Got to go off property a few times doing local hikes (Whiteside Mtn - you can see the house!), and even went to Cherokee one afternoon to hit the casino. Great trip - would definitely return!

Amazing home!

The views from this house are breathtaking! House itself is unique and free-flowing with ample spaces for fun and fellowship. Location is just minutes from Highlands. Property management team were outstanding. They made everything so easy!

Spectacular Stay

The Highlands Château has an outstanding mountain view, common rooms that accommodate large families very easily, including a table that can seat 20, and comfortable, luxurious bedrooms. Our family can’t wait to come back. The experience and service is unparalleled.

Bridal Party

Janet made our check-in seamless and informative due to the size of the house. She was extremely pleasant and took good care of us! She also made us feel extremely welcome with wine, food and a cake! The house was very clean and well stocked. It is perfect for large groups with sufficient and large en-suite bedrooms which is hard to find. The house is also very unique due to its roots - very interesting memorabilia. Lots of things to keep a group busy - including the movie room which is 'crazy cool' :-) AND the view - amazing! I can't wait for another event so we can rent the house again!! Thank you Janet (and the owners) for everything!!

Great house with awesome views

We stayed in Chateau with a group of 6 couples and WOW...just WOW! This house is so much fun and the views are breathtaking. This is our second time renting this property and we're already talking about going back next year. The house is super clean, well appointed, very comfortable for a large group. Highly recommend it!

Great family reunion

The Chateau was perfect for our family reunion. We had plenty of space for everyone. The property and location are beautiful and just as described. We had excellent communication with the property manager. We would love to return again in the future.

The best VRBO experience ever

This was the most incredible VRBO experience I’ve ever had. Communication prior to arrival was wonderful, we arrived and were met with charcuterie, a cake, and a bottle of my favorite wine. The house is spectacular. Every room was perfection and the bathrooms were amazing (my husband is still raving about the water pressure). The game room is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I think the guys will be missing the Golden Tee more than anything. I really can’t rave enough about our experience. I will find another excuse to come to Highlands just to stay in this house again. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Fantastic house for a large group! Third stay here - this time with 6 couples. Plenty of room and gorgeous views. The new fire pit was a hit too. Janet is a fantastic host, going way above and beyond. We’ll be back again soon.

Magical Place

This is truly a magnificent place to stay. The views from the many balconies and full size windows are spectacular. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and well appointed. In addition to the main living area, there is a large adjoining "Pavilion" with its own kitchen, bar, huge dining table, and entertainment areas (pool table, ping pong table, jukebox, video games, etc.). On top of that, there is a serious home theatre room downstairs with an extensive DVD collection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this special place.

Absolutely incredible!

The pictures do not do this Incredible property justice. It was the perfect amount of space, never felt crowded and so much room to gather as a group. We absolutely loved the fire pit, The weather could not have been better, so the views were amazing. If you are on the fence about this property, do not hesitate, it will absolutely exceeded your expectations. We will 100% be back, and thank you, Janet, for your incredible hospitality!

Great location/beautiful views

Everything was excellent! We really enjoyed our stay and the amenities of the property. The property manager was very helpful and extremely responsive. My only recommendation would be if you use the caterer, the food portions are massive. You really can order for 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of eaters (so I should’ve done 8 instead of 15). We ended up with a significant amount of food waste.

The Château is Outstanding

This property is a gem, the best we have ever stayed in! The expansive mountain view took our breath away. The space for large families is unparalleled. We loved the movie room, fire pit, 2 kitchens, and game room! We will be back. Thank you Janet for your hospitality!

50 years of friendship

This property has some wonderful characteristics, however, is in need of an update. The space is amazing and the overall appearance is clean, but there were some instances where we had issues. One bathroom had a clogged sink the entire time we were there. There was a musty smell in a few bedrooms. One bedroom had curtains that were falling off of the rod and eventually did fall down entirely. Just little things that could improve the overall experience of staying in the home. But, overall, the amount of space and the “toys” in the home with ping pong, billiards, etc. were a nice addition.

Unique place, memorable trip

We had 16 golfers stay here for 3 nights. First impression when you arrive is jaw-dropping, especially the big party room. Plenty of space and leisure activities, if you can figure out how they work (e.g. sound system, arcade games). Some of the appliances are past their sell-by date. Overall a great stay, experience and highly recommended.

Spectacular View

What a spectacular house and view! You will be amazed!!! I loved the enormous game room, and so did my teenagers and other adults! All of the little touches were so nice, like a bowl of candy in every bedroom, robes, and slippers. The hostess was super nice and attentive. I would rent this house over and over again!

Breathtaking Views

This was a most unique home. It accommodates a large group. The best thing about it is the large gathering space off the main house and the magnificent view. A bit outdated and stove in main kitchen was problematic. There was a bit of a musty smell in bedroom locations that caused some allergy flareups. You should bring your own fry/sautee' pans.
