VERY nice two bed room, queen beds, with two bath, extra sleeping area two twin beds. cottage sits on peninsula on Long Lakes South Bay just north of Hillman Mi.
cottage is fully furnished, includes row boat, use of kayaks, paddle boat, motor available to rent, pontoon boats for rent, there's over 150 ft. of private frontage, small swim area, private dock just outside the door to park your boat views from cottage are beautiful, covered porch, picnic table, fire ring,
Long Lake is a beautiful all sports lake, fishing for walleye, northern both large and small mouth bass, pan fish,all right out your door,
Sit on covered porch and watch the loons just a few feet away, often have bald eagles soaring over,
close to Brush creek trails and motor cycle trails, there are great riding trails available for those who want to bring their horses.

A easy day trip to the bridge, or take a day trip over to Petoskey are Traverse City, then return back to the quiet peaceful cottage for a nice camp fire, close to Alpena for shopping or dinning, Thunder Bay Golf Resort just minuets away, also close to Elk Ridge Golf Resort. Perfect Vacation Spot

We just recently stayed at South Bay Cottage and it was amazing! Scott was a wonderful host and easy to get ahold of if we needed anything. The kids were occupied all weekend with the private beach, paddle boat, and kayaks. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip

The cabin was bigger than expected, the pictures dont do it justice. The property was amazing with water basically all around you. And the lake was amazing super clean with great swimming opportunitys both on the property and very close by.

Peaceful Getaway

We loved our stay at the cottage on the Peninsula.The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The privacy was great and we were able to let our Corgi run free. He was able to go on the Pontoon with us as well. The option of renting the Pontoon was so nice. Scott was great and the stay was great!

Best view of Long Lake

Excellent accommodations. Clean, comfortable and true to description. We really enjoyed the view from both inside and outside the cottage. Thank you, host, for your friendly, yet non-interfering presence. We had everything we needed!

Great cottage. Excellent location on lake front.

Loved the large lot surrounded by water, Beautiful view. Dogs had plentynof room to run and swim, no neighbors near by to interfere with dogs and privacy (fence along only side not lined by watet frint). Would recommend if you want to vacation with your pets (our labs and kitty loved it)!

Family vacation

The lake is beautiful and the cottage is located on one of the nicest spots on the lake. Peaceful and not a lot of activity on the lake while we are there so it was like having it all to ourselves.

Peaceful cabin

The owner was very nice and helpful. It was a quiet little getaway. We were expecting it to be a little more up to date but it didn’t take away from our experience. We did have to go get extra toilet paper and coffee filters…would have liked to have extra available. Nice place to kayak.

Cottage on the Lake

We had a great week while at the Cottage. It was more than we expected, but exactly what we needed. We spent every day kayaking on the water, listening to the family of loons. We sat for hours either on the dock or on the porch reading, talking and breathing deep the beauty of the lake. The owners were gracious in answering our many questions-about trails and lakes and area. This is a cabin we would gladly revisit again and again.

Beautiful views and crystal clear water

The property is beautiful. Big yard with small fence to one side and water to other so it was nice to keep the dog contained off leash. Property owner is on site and super friendly. Very quick to answer any questions. Pontoon boat rental on site was a bonus. Very reasonable for the whole day of usage. Kayaks and paddle boat were great. Very peaceful and not to far from town. Note that if you want lots of things to do that you will be driving a ways to get to anything other than a few restaurants, grocery store and DQ in town. We didn't feel the need to do so so this was the perfect spot for us.

Hillman Memories

This location and cottage was perfect for our family. We had grandparents, children and grandchildren. Cottage was clean and well appointed with linens and all needed for a weekend stay. The spot on a point had a large piece of property with a fire ring and small beach/swimming area which was perfect for the grandkids. We had ages five and two years old with us. we used to stay in this area about 25 years ago when our children were small and it was nice to come back and make some new memories. Lake is beautiful and clean. Very quiet and we enjoyed the scenery and seeing the loons on the lake. Air conditioning was much appreciated. No problems at all.

Relaxation, water and activities galore

From the check-into the check-out, enjoying the cabin was effortless. The rooms were clean and all of the linens smelled fresh. The cabin was spacious and there were lots of books and games if need be. The kayaks and paddle boat provided plenty of things to do on the water. Scott was responsive to our questions and knowledgeable about nearby fishing. Previous comments mentioned their dogs on the property. They visited on the first day but when we said our dog was old and did not take to dogs, we didn’t see them for the remainder of our four day stay. The kitchen was well stocked and there was even a dishwasher! Three Hearts Bakery and the marine sanctuary were about 35 mins away.

Relaxing vacation with pontoon rental and kayaks and dog friendly

This is a nice two bedroom cottage with 2 extra beds in the corner of the living area. This worked well for 6 guests. The cottage was nicely equipped. The dining room table had a good size extension so that we could seat 6 people for meals. We cooked meals there most days. We rented the pontoon boat, but did not have much success pan fishing. Many areas of the lake are very shallow. Pontoon price very reasonable. We used the two kayaks everyday (free use). There is a large yard for outdoor games. The place is dog friendly. The owner has a dog and so does a neighbor. Both come by in the evenings to check things out. Both are friendly. Our two dogs had their own vacation being off leash and free to run and swim.
