Excellent location and host

This property was well-maintained, and well-equipped. The host, Lori, was so helpful throughout our stay. She even dropped off a Christmas tree so that we could decorate for the holiday! The proximity to Red River, Taos, and Angel Fire makes this a great location for someone who wants easy access to multiple ski hills. If off-roading is your thing, you should check out the Cabresto Lake nearby via forest roads. Beautiful views, and very secluded. I would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful

Cabin was so nice and it was so peaceful to sit on the porch and see the mountains in the distance and the pond just a few feet away. We could hear the stream running, definitely relaxing. Host was great, we wanted to have a fire in the fire pit and she made sure we had the wood we needed before we got back for the evening. Highly recommend this cabin!!

Peaceful

The weather in August was perfect--75 to 80 during the day and mid 50's at night. Close to Red River and Taos for dining out and supplies. I would definitely stay here again.

Pond a big plus!

The pond was awesome! Being able to fish everyday was so fun! The cabin was clean and the open floor concept great. Glad we brought fans with us. We needed them to keep cool. The cabin could use some updates, but overall, we had a great stay.

Okay cabin.

The cabin was located in a weird spot directly behind a few house/ farm, but had a nice view of the mountains.. the pond has a view trout that you can see from the bank, makes it hard to catch them.. Cabin has a very small bathroom. No AC but fans and an easy to use heater. The beds were just okay but did get hot in the bedrooms at night. Every night woke up sweating but could be a personal problem and not a cabin problem. They have the cabin equipped with all the kitchen utensils and things needed. The cabin does need some up keep, some blinds were broke, water hose on the sink was broke, burnt out light bulbs, etc… cabin is located right between Taos(30minutes) and red river(20 minutes). Overall the cabin is okay for a weekend couple getaway unless you have a large group.

The cabin is great and spacious. Needs some small up keeping. Like light bulbs, sofa repair, stove handles replaced, etc. Otherwise we love the location and the owners.

Log cabin retreat

The cabin was clean and a great getaway for our vacation. We loved the view right next to El Migre Mountain, the weather in July here was very pleasant. I would definitely go back but I suggest going to Taos for groceries and supplies. The creeks here are beautiful nothing like Texas. We loved the mountains and the beautiful scenery. Definitely we will be back again.

Great time

The house was nice inside and out. It is not that hard to find, close to town but still feels secluded. The pond was nice also, for us this was the best part. We will stay again and recomend it to family and friends.

About the host

Growing up in the Southern Rockies brings a little touch of down home goodness to the heart. As children we've both loved the outdoors. We grew up skiing in mountains and love hunting and fishing. We own Premier-Outfitters, a hunting, horseback, fishing, hiking, and camping outfit. This gives people a opportunity to experience a lifetime adventure they will never forget. Now our three children follow in our foot steps. If it doesn't have to do with the outdoors they are not interested. You will get to know us and see how unique we are. We certainly can't wait to meet you!

Why they chose this property

We want people to feel comfortable when they stay at the Ranch and appreciate the quality of nature that surrounds you while you enjoy the stay in our cabins. The cabins here at our Ranch were thought up very carefully. Every log was hand picked by us to show of the details in the interior and exterior walls. Each cabin has its very own story. You are in a semi-remote location with full amenities, yet minutes away from your destination you choose.

What makes this property unique

We have many attractions at the Ranch. The kids will love winter and summer at the pond, skipping rocks in the creek or a nice mountain hike and view natural land slides and Indian ruins. Enjoy the sounds of farm animals at the barn or a barbecue on the deck overlooking the creek. A camp fire by the pond is quite calming after a long day out. Walking into the cabins you will be remarkably impressed. The best benefit of all is to share your experience with your loved ones and take home stories you will never forget. Give us call to learn more.
