Nice Cottage

Cottage was nice, fairly basic furnishings and shower could do with a good clean of the grout. Bathroom radiator not working, had been reported numerous times from comments in visitor book but not repaired. Cottage lovely and warm for a winter break. Some noise from the busy road that runs through village. The Ostrich Pub situated a couple of doors away was really good for food and drinks and staff very welcoming. Secure rear garden for dog. Overall comfortable and the location is good for the coast. Cottage well equipped especially in kitchen. One problem was there was no tools to clean out the log burner, when we arrived it had not been cleaned out and we could not clean it out when we left.

Tired could do with some love

Some aspects where very nice, good shower pressure, nice bath size, plenty of hot water. Plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. Nice courtyard garden with nice flowers. Front door straight onto main road and you can not lock without the key, not the best scenario as we had dogs. Sofa was very dirty needed cleaning and scatter cushions where crusty fur. Stairs very steep and narrow but most of all very slippery really needs carpet so that you could not slip in socks. Bath floor tiles broken. Shower tiles need cleaning and grout replacing. In our opinion only ok for 2 adults, stairs not safe for children and not practical for adults to walk through others bedrooms

Cosy warm cottage

Lovely cosy cottage when warmed up. Unfortunately when we arrived the previous guests had turned off the storage heater off, but once charged the cottage was lovely and warm. Generally clean, under the main large sofa it could have done with a clean underneath, other than that very clean. We found a cigarette lighter in between the bottom sheet and duvet of single bed, I assume this was dropped by the cleaner making the bed up. More care needed, thankfully we didn’t have young children with us. On the whole the cottage was lovely.

Jasmine Cottage - comfy but noisy

We enjoyed our holiday at Jasmine Cottage. It was in a great location to visit the north Norfolk coast. My boys loved the playing field and stream full of ducks opposite the house. It was comfy inside however we had a few issues… The morning road noise was very disturbing, plus the aircraft from the local airfield was incredibly loud! The underfloor heating didn’t work in the kitchen and the towel rail in the upstairs bathroom and heater in bedroom were also not working. In fact the storage heaters exacerbated my sons asthma so we had to turn the heating off altogether. The hob controls are opposite to what you would expect so this needs noting in the book/on the hob but but kitchen was well equipped which was good. Finally the stairs are too steep for anyone elderly so please be careful if booking this cottage. The DVD player was not connected to the TV but there was Netflix which was handy! The lounge was lovely and the sofa and main bed was very comfy.

Beautiful spacious cottage with character

A lovely calm cottage with a beautiful location next to a stream. The garden was a delight to sit in and as bird watchers we were amazed by the different birds and wildlife that we saw. The children thought the mezzanine was amazing to play on. The only downside was that the washer/dryer didn’t work and that wasn’t communicated to us. When we phoned we were told a part was arriving but it never did. I booked the property because of the washing facilities so it was annoying to spend half a day hand washing and air drying clothes. I would fully recommend the cottage (check the washer is working) and it’s great for travelling to the beaches at Wells, Holkham and Titchwell etc. The owners left us a huge homemade cake which was amazing and a lovely touch. It is the only property I haven’t had to clean when I got there too - spotless. We were sad to leave!

Jasmine cottage is very warm and comfortable and well equipped. We were disappointed to see no welcome pack as we arrived late on Monday night. We have stayed in a number of your cottages and have always had milk, bread, tea and coffee etc to welcome us. We always think that it is a lovely touch to leave your guests a few treats!! There wasn't even a tea bag!! There were no logs or coal either. There was a bit of kindling and 1 firelighter however! Good job we had the foresight to bring some logs and firelighters etc from home. The dustbin has disappeared , so we are sorry we had to leave the rubbish by the back door. The garden gate does not close and we had to wedge it closed with a garden chair so the dogs did not escape. The outside light does not work either. Shame, but we have to be honest!

The perfect holiday cottage

We stayed last week with our 3 dogs at this lovely cottage in South Creake. Having visited the area last year, we knew that we wanted to be in the vicinity in order to be at a comfortable driving distance of all the various beaches that are very easily accessible & provide sufficient options for variety. The cottage is situated in South Creake with the Creake directly opposite - which has a delightful population of Ducks and their Ducklings. The green is also handy for a short stroll and provides a further area for playing, in our case for our dogs but also an added benefit for visitors with young children as it has a small playground as well as tennis courts available . We met the landlord Alan when we arrived, and he was very welcoming and friendly, giving us some additional tips on places that we might like to try; one of which was a beach we had not been to before, but he recommended as being ideal for dogs - and we went twice! The property itself is just what we imagined from the details given – much larger than it appears from the exterior. The sitting / dining area is a very decent size and light and airy with really practical and attractive flooring. The décor and furnishings are comfortable throughout as well as practical and there is an ample dining table and chairs in this area along with a smaller table which can accommodate 2 or 3 people in the kitchen overlooking the patio. The kitchen has a good range of crockery and cutlery as well as a cooker, microwave, washer dryer and a dishwasher. The shower room / wc is off the kitchen and there is a very useful large cublicle with a shower that has both a hand held / adjustable shower hose as well as one large fixed head. Upstairs there is a landing area with painted wooden floorboards which has a sofa bed along with various storage areas plus a handy table – this area is large enough for an additional bedroom if needing to use the sofa bed if required but also provides a useful spacious area. The main bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed and faces the front of the property overlooking the Green. Within the bedroom is a very tardis like wardrobe/cupboard / which provides a very decent amount of hanging space with good quality hangers as well as several deep shelves to accommodate most items of clothing and footwear etc. There is a door directly into the bathroom providing the ensuite but also with a separate door leading off the landing area to access this bathroom which houses a stylish bath with shower over, and heated towel rail etc. The additional area reached by a ladder from the landing is a quirky but useful feature which can very comfortably accommodate 2 further guests in the single beds provided, though probably more suited to younger guests due to the partially limited height. It is a very creative use of the space and really adds interest to the property as well as the facility to utilise if a family were looking for a comfortable property for a short stay. All the flooring throughout the property is provided with an eye to being able to keep the property clean and tidy with low maintenance, but also feels very stylish and homely but with the added advantage of not having carpets that would retain dirt and therefore feel less clean & hygienic. This makes the cottage a perfect location whether there for the summer months or when less hospitable weather as there is also a log burner and underfloor heating provided. Outside - the garden is ideal for short stays with or without dogs – big enough and secure enough to let either children or in our case, the dogs outside, and private too. There’s a very useful patio area with comfortable table and chairs for dining al fresco. All in all, we were both very happy with our stay at Jasmine Cottage and would highly recommend it. I think I can also speak for the dogs in saying that they thoroughly enjoyed their stay also. .
