Vila Verde Ghost Town.

Vila Verde is a 20/25 minute walk from Santa Maria, with a similar walk to the nearest beach. This is a massive complex, but according to some locals 70% of units are unoccupied, leaving the place feeling deserted. There is a free shuttle a few time a day to Santa Maria. Taxis cost 4/5 per trip. There was NO water in our swimming pool, but the local agent did arrange a pass for another pool in this massive complex. The WiFi was very poor but the agents installed a newer system, which worked quite well. On site there is a supermarket and two restaurants. 1 tin of Heinz beans cost almost 4.On Christmas eve we had a meal in the resturant, but the next day was spent vomiting with food poisoning.Although we had booked and paid for two weeks, we were on a plane Christmas day jumping ship 7 days early.

La concierge Lizy est adorable (panier d’accueil) et très professionnelle. Helen la propriétaire est avenante et à l’écoute. Dommage en revanche que sur l’annonce c’etait pas indiqué qu’il n’y a pas la piscine et qu’il faut payer. Mais dans l’ensemble c’était bien.

Big tick from us, great time!

Absolutely loved the stay, apartment was spotless and it was a nice touch having the bread, milk and water left for our arrival. Lizy met us from the taxi and explained the layout of Vila Verde and gave us the bus timetable to get to Ponta Preta and Santa Maria. Vila Verde is always our first choice of accommodation especially due to the supermarket on site and the free sunbeds on Ponta Preta beach. We go to Cape Verde annually and will definitely be hoping to stay here again!

Beautiful cosy apartment in secured area

Staying and Chrises and Helen's apartment was very pleasant. They were very helpful when we had problem with fridge freezer and replace it the very next day. Communication with them was very nice and smooth and the apartment was very nicely decorated and situated close to amenities essential for great holiday - grocery shop, restaurant , swimming pool and bar with lots of free entertainment. Lizy who was the agent looking after us was also very helpful and knowledgeable which was handy. We would highly recommend staying at this apartment that serves great value for money. Thank you for making this holiday special Chris and Helen. :)

Lovely apartment!!

Thanks Helen for a lovely 2 weeks at your apartment. Very spacious and nice to have a full sized fridge freezer!! I had a lovely restful time in cape Verde, making full use of the shuttle that takes you to the beautiful beach of santa maria for free!!! Great communication if I had any queries too!! A lovely stay
