If you are visiting SF and like the ocean, you must visit Ocean Beach. It is a 3.5 mile stretch of beautiful beach with few tourists and no high rises. It's just you and the waves, sand, seabirds, sand dollars, and crabs with the occasional whale sighting. It is a world class surf spot, usually in the fall. This is not for beginners but there are other spots nearby that are great for beginners (Pacifica 20 min away).
Neighborhood: We are around the corner from cluster of excellent local merchants including Noriega Pizza Place (yum), The Devil’s Teeth Bakery, Gus’s Organic Market, Yonkers Café, Papa Maks Burgers, Korean food, Mexican food, and Bubble Tea. Another couple blocks away you’ll find award winning dining such as Outer Lands, Nah Trang (famous for garlic noodles and crab), Hook Fish Sustainable Seafood, Andy Town Coffee Roasters, The Rusty Ladle soup and gallery, BlackBird Books/Cafe/Gallery, and The Cantina. It’s easy to get downtown via public transport or Uber. There is great biking, walking, and hiking in nearby in Golden Gate Park and Lands End. We are also about a 15 min walk to the SF zoo.
The Unit: This is the lower flat of a two flat building with two bedrooms. Each has a queen bed, a fluffy comforter, closet space, and drawers. The main area is an open layout dining room, large table (seats 8), living room with sunset-west-facing windows, and a smart TV. The full size kitchen is fully equipped and has a backdoor leading out to the yard, hot tub, and garden. The bathroom has tub, shower, sink, toilet, and toiletries.
Additional Amenities: We have a backyard with a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, faux grass with an impact mat that is great for yoga or small kids. It's great for outdoor meals or hangouts. There is a Weber gas grill and outdoor dining supplies. We also have an outdoor hot shower to rinse off after the beach and before getting into the sparkling clean 6 person hot tub.
