About this property

Cottages - 2 Bedroom Family House with Pool

Quinta dos Cochichos was a local farm, built back in 1917. The houses have been totally renovated, some being used as various accommodation units: 2 apartments , 2 duplexes and a studio, spread into 5 different and separated houses. There are other smaller buildings inside the property, these being used as support to the activity.

The farm is set in about 4 acres, surround by almond, fig, carob and olive trees. We have also developed other fruit trees including some tropical.

All units are different and named after a typical fruit from the Algarve: Carob House, Fig House, Loquat House, Olive House and Almond House.

THE FIG HOUSE (Casa do Figo)
Very nice apartment on the ground floor of a country house with 65 m2. For 4 adults + 2 children on separate sofa beds in the living room. Children under 6 years of age stay for free.
Private terrace (9 m2), with barbecue, tables and chairs.
Two double bedrooms with wardrobes.
Double bed (200x180cm) in each room, or if requested, 2 single beds (200x90 cm) in each room.

The apartments and houses are well equipped with kitchen / kitchenette, where you can prepare your own meals. Each house has access to a private terrace overlooking the garden and fields.

The living room area features a flat-screen TV with 120 channels and 2 bathrooms including each a shower, complimentary toiletries and towels.
Baby bed and other free items are available upon request.

You may enjoy an outdoor pool and a sauna during winter time, as well as free Wi-Fi and secured parking inside the property.

Families and groups may enjoy the boule pitch or the giant trampolin available. There is a playground and a small kid’s house with toys and a sand box for the little ones.

A holiday for the whole family
We hall had a wonderful stay at Marc and Paula's lovely farm, picking salad and fruit from the garden, swimming in the idyllic pool and hopping off to nearby markets and beaches. Our hosts went out of their way to answer all our questions and provide all we needed. Couldn't be more different than the concrete hotel strips abundant in so many resorts. A little quirky but all the more interesting for it.

A Lovely Relaxing Retreat
Quinta Cochichos was an excellent opportunity for the four of us to wind down and branch out along the Algarve coast to experience the beauty of the southern Portuguese coastline including especially the beauty of the Rio Formosa Park. Mark was very helpful suggesting places to visit, local plants and excellent wine. The farm is tricky to find but it was perfectly situated for our explorations. The chickens and the dog were quite entertaining. And the amazing variety of the trees on the farm is a wonder. Relaxing by the pool was a perfect ending to our busy days.

Nous avons passés un excellent séjour à la quinta avec notre fils Paul. Tout est là pour de parfaites vacances, charme des lieux , jeux et poules pour les enfants , accueil chaleureux, proximité des lieux d intérêts Nous avons passés un super séjour Merci à Marc pour l accueil et sa disponibilité

Ideal en familia
Gratamente sorprendidos con el entorno, sus dueños encantadores, nos orientaron sobre qué visitar o dónde comprar. Es ideal para ir con niños, tienen columpios, piscina, cama elástica, casita de juegos y las gallinas junto con el huerto. La tranquilidad es absoluta y el Algarve merece la pena ser visitado. Totalmente recomendable.

Un régal!
Un havre de paix au milieu des orangers, citronniers, amandiers, oliviers .... A quelques kms seulement de la mer et de tout ce qu'il y a à visiter en Algarve. Paula et Marc sont des hôtes très accueillants, très disponibles, prêts à vous donner tous les tuyaux nécessaires pour profiter au mieux de votre séjour. Je recommande très vivement ce lieu de séjour, où nous retournerons si, un jour, nous retournons en Algarve, région que nous avons adorée.

Un paraiso en el Algarve
Somos desde hace unos años habituales viajeros en el Algarve. Hemos visitado apartamentos rurales, casas rurales, apartamentps en playas, etc..., y nunca habiamos estado tan a gusto como los diez días que hemos pasado en la Quinta de los Cochichos. El trato cercano y a la vez reservado de los propietarios de la finca, Marc y Paula, ha sido un elemento importante en nuestra valoración. La alegria de su hija Inés, compañera de juegos de nuestro hijo, otro motivo de satisfacción. La propia finca, con arboles preciosos como los algarrobos, los granados, los olivos,... Nuestro alojamiento se realizo en una de las casas que componen la Quinta, concretamente la llamada "Casa da Nespera", o la casa del nispero, pues delante tiene un nispero precioso. Nuestra valoración de la casa es muy alta. Belleza del entorno más inmediato, silencio, buen equipamiento para preparar comida, una magnifica terraza para disfrutar de un rato de lectura, cenar, mirar el cielo, las plantas,... Las instalaciones de la finca comprenden un elemento que para nuestro hijo es clave para pasarlo bien, la piscina, magnifica en todos los sentidos, entre otros por la arboleda situada en uno de sus laterales que permite estar al fresco fuera del agua, descansar en las hamacas, leer. Por si faltara algo más que añadir a nuestra satisfacción están los desayunos, muy completos, buenisimos, el pan excelente, el aceite, el plato de queso con fiambre, el cafe con leche, y unos zumos de naranjas recien exprimidas y abundantes, que como dicen por Andalucía, quitan el sentido. Marc siempre amable nos facilito más leche, cacao para que nuestro hijo preparara su colacao, más cafe y una infusión de hierbas de su propio jardín para el que no toma cafe de la familia. En fin hemos quedado encantados. La finca esta cerca de Olhao, aislada en el campo pero muy bien comunicada. Muchas gracias Paula, Marc e Ines.

Vacaciones muy aprovechadas...
Este año decidimos bajarnos al Algarve para probar nuevos aires y, a pesar de no conocer la zona, la verdad es que acertamos de pleno al elegir la Quinta dos Cochichos. Nos costó llegar pero una vez allí nos encantó el entorno, el pueblecito de Quelfes, las distintas rutas que puedes hacer... Genial!!! La casita de la Alfarroba tenía todo lo necesario para disfrutar sin echar nada de menos. La finca nos ofreció la tranquilidad que necesitábamos en las vacaciones. La piscina limpita y perfecta para los días de descanso de playa. Marc nos enseñó la gran variedad de árboles y aromáticas que mima. Paola nos abrió las puertas de la casa y la sentimos como nuestra. Las niñas, encantadas con Selena y Spray, las gatitas que pululaban por allí. Un placer. Lástima que pasó muy rápido. Volveremos.

Countryside escape
Stayed at this lovely farmhouse for two weeks, end of April and beginning May. Faro is the nearest airport and it’s just 20-30 minutes away by car. There is three spacious self-catering apartments that are recently renovated (2013) with all necessary equipment. Breakfast is included and is served every morning. You can choose to have it in the apartment or have it in the common breakfast area. The farm has their own chickens so fresh eggs are on the breakfast menu. Also they grow organic fruits and vegetables. Nice to have freshly picked lemon in your water ? After a day at the beach, which can be reached by car in a few minutes, you can have relaxing late afternoon at the farm enjoying the sauna and/or the nice swimming pool. The sauna was perfect when we stayed there as the evenings could be a bit cold (+20 C). For children there is a small playground and there is also a place for playing boule. The hosts are very helpful and speak Portuguese, English, French, Spanish? and Swedish and can recommend nearby restaurants, beaches and shops. I can really recommend this B&B for everyone who wants to enjoy Portugal countryside and still be close to the beaches. Marianne & Nils from Sweden

Lugar especial
Hemos pasado unas vacaciones maravillosas en la quinta dos Cochichos. Un sitio lleno de vegetación, con árboles frutales, huerta, gallinas..., en donde todo lo que produce la tierra y cuida Mark está a disposición de los clientes alojados en la quinta, además de los huevos de corral y una piscina estupenda. El apartamento muy acogedor, cuidado hasta el mínimo detalle, con un porche para disfrutar de día y de noche y una barbacoa increíble. Playas muy cercanas con mucho encanto y no demasiado turísticas...., pero lo mejor de todo sin duda, la atención y amabilidad de Paola y Mark, muchas gracias por todo ha sido un verdadero placer y mucha suerte!
