This guesthouse was super conveniently located for the visiting we did in town. Very well-equipped kitchen, and we appreciated having laundry facilities. Our only real complaint is how uncomfortable the bed was in the main bedroom. No complaints from the kids in their rooms, though.
My stay was phenomenal! The place was private, spacious, and just a very short drive away from Portland! The owners were very nice and accommodating and I would 100% recommend staying here.
I had a peaceful stay while I was in town. Super nice area. Checking in was quick, simple and easy. Everything was clean. I loved the decor and the well maintained house. The house was cozy. The host was very friendly and communicative. 10/10 I highly recommend staying here when you come to Portland :)
We stayed a full week over the Christmas holiday. The guest house had everything we needed for a very nice stay. Appreciated the holiday decorations. Never got to meet the owners as they were also away for the holiday. Felt at home and very safe behind a locked gate. I recommend anyone staying near Portland to give this place a try.

Great area, house needs some safety TLC
Great location for west Portland. Older detached home from vrbo owner's home. Safe house regardless to neighborhood area but house itself needs some updates with electrical/plates. House has a musty smell but goes away w/ heat up. Noticed lots of candles around so used them for old/musty smell. A main bedroom has an air mattress (for mattress) that deflated as you sleep. Re-inflates easy but still uncomfortable.
Bummer it didn't work out . We come to west Portland area a lot!
Homeowner fairly gBummer! easy.
Our family of 4, including a 4-year-old and 1-year-old, had a very pleasant stay. Everything was as advertised and our hosts helped us handle the airline losing our bags by receiving them when we were not present.
Perfect location. 1.5 miles from groceries, shopping, numerous restaurants but sitting on back porch it's quiet and peaceful. Park with tennis, basketball, and nice playground is a 5 minute walk. Very friendly and helpful host. Hope this place will be available should we have opportunity to visit the area again.
This is second summer I, my ex and our two daughers have stayed at the Heuffners, both times for two weeks. The cabin is great, stays cool in the heat, has a nice kitchen and we loved eating our meals on the outdoor patio. The location is excellent if you want to stay on west side of portland. I always take the "little suite" which is a small room that's mostly bed but has its own little bathroom. My ex and one of the girls would share the big suite connected to the big bathroom, and my youngest would get the back bedroom.
Outside is also an adjustable basketball hoop and Bill will give you a basketball to play with. I enjoyed daily neighborhood walks up and down hills through the beautiful trees.
The only nits is there is only a single shower in the big bathroom so sometimes we had to wait for each other. The bed in the little suite is an air mattress, if you stay for a while like we do it slowly deflates, but it has an electric pump so just takes a few seconds to refill it to the level of firmness I prefer. The washer/dryer are a little small but we never had any problems getting our laundry done.
Other than that its perfect and I hope we are always able to stay here for the rest of my summers.
Privacy and surrounded by a Beautiful garden and fruit trees, Swings for children and a little patio. At Sunset, the sun streaming through the trees is so gorgeous. Beautiful, beautiful efficient kitchen.
The homeowners were easy to communicate with especially after I communicated that it was my first time in the state and that we would be visiting family. Beautiful guesthouse. He even found a couple of basketballs for my kiddo. Overall great experience!
Property was adequate for our long term stay. It was home-away- from home! Bill and Marina were always available for contact, and very courteous to our questions. The location was very convenient to stores and park area. We enjoyed many walks throughout the neighborhoods. We really appreciated the abode!
Very nice, but could use a couple minor improvements.
We arrived late and they left the key for us in the mailbox. The host instructed us to drive through a gate and keep it closed for their dog. We liked the location in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The house was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We never saw or met our host. The kitchen has the necessities to cook a meal, and some spices, including a coffee machine and ground coffee provided. There were a couple minor things that we think would have improved our comfort, for example, the mattresses were very firm, and one of them was a queen size air mattress, and the front bedroom and bathroom had no power plugs. We also found that the air freshener plug-in was overwhelming and we had to unplug it and put it under the kitchen sink to clear the air. Otherwise we enjoyed it very much.

Nice sight, beds not big enough for two adults in any bedroom?
Very satisfied with house, my wife was disappointed in the bedroom and living room furniture's comfort. Needs A/V throughout the house.
Entire family greatly enjoyed our stay. My daughters loved the swings and basketball court. Ioved the great location close to downtown beaverton, Nike and freeways to downtown and lake Oswego, as well as the quiet compound that enabled me to get work done. We were here in July, so we’re grateful for the A/C. My ex enjoyed the back deck where she sat and read. We have stayed in Portland every summer for nearly twenty years and it’s the best accommodations we’ve ever had.
We liked the location in the suburbs, close to shops and restaurants. Also the rental was freeway close but with no noise.
We enjoyed sitting on the back patio in the evening .
Bill was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay

Disappointed
The home is in a nice location with lovely gardens. The home was advertised as having two bathrooms-in reality is one and one half. The home was not clean. Surfaces were sticky and dead bugs and spider webs had been there a very long time. The sheets on the beds were clean but the comforters had not been washed recently. We were given two rolls of toilet paper for a four day stay with three adults. One of the beds was sitting on the floor and should have been on a frame. I took pictures to illustrate the issues should the owners need clarification.
The space was plenty big to accommodate our family and had fun and quirky decor. I wish the rain would have let up so we could have used the basketball hoop, but Oregon delivered its on renowned wet weather.
We had a great vacation at Portland. This house is located at a great location, close to the 217, yet very quiet and convenient to shops and restaurants. The place was very clean and functional and met our needs as a small family. Our 5 years daughter loved the pink bedroom.
Bill hosted my mother in-law for the holiday. She said the house was cozy, quite spacious, clean and had everything she needed. Thank you Bill! We are grateful!

We moved to Portland over 20 years ago, raised a family here and are now empty nesters with our dog, Bentley. This is an amazing location and ranch style property that we can enjoy homegrown food from the garden and relaxing in our outdoor living space. We love being outdoors and enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. We can be skiing all year long at Mt. Hood and that same day go for an evening walk at the Oregon Coast. We enjoy hosting individuals and families in our guesthouse and letting them experience the best that Portland and great Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Why they chose this property
The location is so convenient to everything, it is an ideal spot, close enough to walk to restaurants and parks. 10 minutes to downtown Portland and NIKE World Headquarters down a couple miles away on Walker Rd. Walking distance to St. Vincent Hospital. Great schools and a wonderful quiet, peaceful neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
Large, secluded acre lot in SW Portland on the border of Beaverton just off the 217 freeway. Large evergreen trees and plenty of parking.
