Sandford Beach House

Sandford of Venus bay, is 15min drive from Inverloch. Close to Jetty (0.5km) and Surf beach 5 (1.5km) this holiday home is ideal for the weekend or weekly getaway. With a large deck and woodfire oven it is perfect for summer or winter. The garden is a delight in itself, secludes you from the surrounding homes. Contains 2 Bedrooms one with queen bed and one with one double and one single bed, this cottage is ideal for 4-5 people. The private yard has an open fire pit area, as well as access to a wood fired oven to cook up any number of yummy treats. Sandford is the perfect retreat.

Enjoy nature

Enjoy the surf, river or inlet where you can fish, kayak, go boating or just enjoy the scenery. Plenty of bushwalks with abundant wildlife. A lovely little coastal village complete with restaurant, fish and chip shop, pizza shop, licensed Grocer, fishing shop and the latest addition - a yummy ice cream shop.

Clean and cosy

Nestled in the native bush and lovely garden with open lawns, this is a delightful cosy little house with everything you need for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Just perfect for a couple like us, or a small family. The location is great for peace and privacy but also close enough to shops for convenience.

Lovely lazy getaway

We had a great time at Sandford Beach House these past Easter school holidays. Nice sleep ins, lots of chess, Ferris Bueller DVD on repeat, beach and inlet walks in any weather, wildlife spotting, homemade pizza from the pizza oven and looking at the stars while enjoying the fire pit. And delicious local honey dropped round by the hosts. Super relaxing, house has everything you need.

A cosy stay that everyone enjoys

Love the indoor and outdoor features Sandford offered my family. The location is absolutely fantastic that we enjoyed both Venus Bay beaches and inlet. Roslyn is always ready to help in case we need anything. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a cosy getaway that doesn't cost a fortune.

Cozy and cool house on a hot weekend

Very nice cosy house with quite a large outdoor area and deck. Aircon was very good and kept us cool during the 37C weekend and was strong enough to keep the bedrooms cool! Those DVDs definitely kept us entertained! Beds were very comfy. Would love to come back next time.

Relaxing getaway

We had a lovely time at Sandford Beach House. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and the location private but accessible to surf beach and the inlet. The phone reception is patchy, but we didn't mind that. We spent our days exploring the area, reading, and making use of the large yard and deck. Rosyln was easy to communicate with. We would recommend this accomodation!

Great Property

Better than expected! Had a great stay, lots of spaces to enjoy the property (2 outdoor table areas, fireplace etc). Would definitely reccomend & even come back for another stay! Outdoor bbq was a plus!

Not for us

We enjoy staying in places that are rustic and 'basic' and have never left a negative review. On this occasion, we actually came home early. The problem was that the photos of the property are very old (judging by the plant growth) and, contrary to other reviews, the whole house is in need of a good clean. Doors and handles were grubby, thick cobwebs with dead bugs in every room, and food residue in the fridge. The kitchen cupboards need a good clean, too. We knew there was no wifi, so planned to watch a few DVDs, only to find the (unplugged) DVD machine didn't work, despite a reasonable selection of DVDs for guests. We were happy to read our books, but it was another example of how the property description didn't match our experience. But the jar of local honey waiting for us was a lovely touch. Sorry we can't be more positive about our stay.

Quiet and well-equipped place to stay

We had a relaxing week here. It's in a very quiet location, with a lovely garden separating the house from the main road. It's only a short drive to the beaches and shops. The compact house is well set up, including everything we wanted in the kitchen plus lots more.

Restful Switch off

Nice, neat, tranquil, equipped by everything one might need for comfortable staying. Good kitchen with all utensils, good mattresses, heater, beautiful outside space with terrace. And location allows you to hear the ocean roar when outside. To see the ocean - need driving ~5 min.

Beautiful Location

We really enjoyed our stay. The local walks and beaches are absolutely beautiful. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very comfortable, unfortunately we didn't get to use the fire or pizza oven because it rained for us, perhaps next time. Proximity to the lovely beach in Venus Bay

The place is just as listed. Communication was great and check in process was straight forward. In case of poor weather, the place has lots of pots and pans to cook up a meal and plenty of board games and movies. Loved that the property was so close to the beautiful No.5 beach that we could hear the waves throughout the night. [Just one minor thing - the place has no internet (I had not taken note of this before), so better to be prepared for those other than Telstra]

Great quiet location short stroll to the beach

We loved the quiet location and bushy surrounds. The amazing beaches are a 15min walk or 2min drive. The woodfire oven was used for a great slow cook to feed friends and family. The resident Magpies also became great friends too. Really enjoyed the stay - thanks Roslyn

Nice summer week at the beach

Comfortable stay with the basics. Nice private garden and deck with lots of afternoon sun. Day trips to beautiful Sandy Point beach, good for small kids along with number 1 beach at Venus Bay. Shack Bay towards Cape Paterson a good rock pool exploring spot. Inverloch 20 to 25 min drive.. Short drive to Tarwin Lower for more river fishing platforms and pub meals. Wonthaggi good for shopping if you're in that area, 8 mins from Cape Paterson. We found other more local supermarkets very over priced. Overall a good stay. Could use a few updates, such as the compendium.
