Villa Poinciana is a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 1300 square foot house with covered decks wrapping around both buildings. The surrounding foliage engulfs the wooden structures.

Located in the quiet southwest corner of Providenciales near Sapodilla Bay, this charming villa is situated on the water's edge of scenic Chalk Sound National Park, a Turks and Caicos Island wildlife sanctuary.

Villa Poinciana is two separate but connected West Indies style wooden structures nestled comfortably into the natural flora and rock formations of the Chalk Sound shoreline. Poinciana comes with thre kayaks for your enjoyment exploring the islands in Chalk Sound.

One building contains the living room, kitchen, dining area and a full bath; and the other, two large bedrooms both with en-suite baths creating a tree-house atmosphere that is enhanced by the connecting wooden walkways and surrounding tropical plants. The many decks and connecting walkways offer sweeping views of a brilliant turquoise blue water you will remember forever.

Poinciana can comfortably accommodate a party of 4. Additionally, there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room appropriate for an extra child or adults and a sleeping loft in the guest suite. Despite Poinciana's Swiss Family Robinson appearance, it has the modern conveniences of flat screen TVs, wireless internet, and bluetooth audio speakers for your enjoyment. Beautiful house with everything you need to have fun!

We spent a good time at Collin’s house. Everything was perfect and beautiful. The view was spectacular. Every morning was like a dream. Collin is very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this rental to everybody. We rented a car and did not even use it a lot since everything was in the house and the location is perfect. Thank you again, our family had a wonderful time

A great family vacation

We had a great time at Colin’s place for our family of four. Absolutely loved paddling out and visiting the iguanas in the kayaks and sitting out on the dock reading. The kitchen had everything we needed to make the majority of our meals.

Heaven on Earth!

This our second time staying at Colin’s villa and will not be the last. Nestled on a quiet strip in beautiful Chalk Sound, it’s close to two beautiful beaches and well connected to the rest of the island. You’ll never tire of the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore.

Fantastic Property in a Beautiful, Quiet Spot

Staying on Chalk Sound is immensely different from staying in the resorts on Grace Bay beach. It's so quiet with stunning views, super close to Sapodilla & Taylor Bay beach which are shallower and calmer for children. Great views of planes landing and taking off but far enough away from the airport that you didn't hear the noise. We loved everything about this property. The main house was perfectly appointed. The house with bedrooms was amazing with 2 separate entrances and a bathroom in each. Our children are old enough that this worked well for us but might be an issue for people with smaller kids. This would also make for an amazing stay for 2 couples as you could each have your own entrance / exit to the outside. We felt safe enough to leave the door open to take the breeze at night. The gear that was available for use was beyond - multiple kayaks, a SUP, life jackets, plentiful beach towels, chairs, floaties, etc. We loved the decks, the gear, the ability to slide open the doors for a breeze, the views, the easy access to quieter, calmer beaches. Honestly, this afforded us the best vacation we have had as a family in quite a few years and a huge part of that had to do with our tremendous stay here at Colin's amazing property on Chalk Sound.

Perfect beach getaway

This property was beautiful! We loved using the kayaks to venture out and see more of Chalk Sound. The views from the deck are STUNNING- even on cloudy days. Endless towels, ice chest bags, kitchen supplies and a washing machine were all great to have. Thanks!! Would love to come back.

Perfect Family Vacation

Loved waking up to such a beautiful view every morning! The house was perfect for our family of 3- 2 adults and 1 teenager. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding in the sound. We did a lot of exploring around the island and everything we needed was available at the house: beach towels, beach chairs, snorkels, floats,And small coolers to pack drinks and snacks!

Another Wonderful Stay

This was our second time staying at Poinciana and it was even better than the first! First off the Villa is beautiful and Colin provides everything needed to have an amazing stay. The kitchen is well stocked and we always found anything we needed while cooking, including when baking my son his annual birthday cake! There are extra linens, travel sized toiletries, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, portable speaker, etc. Anything and everything that you need they have thought of. The home is very well appointed and the layout worked great for our family of five, three of which are teens (18,16,14). Next LOCATION!!! The beauty of Chalk Sound which offers kayaking and paddle boarding right off the dock plus having Taylor Bay and Sopadilla Beach which are right down the street was everything that we wanted. Do not hesitate to book! You will not regret it!

Perfect Vacation Home

We enjoyed everything about Poincianna! Being so close to Taylor Bay was great. The kids loved taking the kayaks out to the little islands. Colin was very responsive and helpful. I hope we get to go back again someday!

Magical week at Poinciana

My family and I had an amazing stay at Poinciana. The setting was breathtaking, you are truly right on the water. We sat out on the dock each night and dangled our feet in Chalk Sound, and Taylor Bay is right down the road for late afternoon swims. We were often the only ones on the beach. The host was extremely responsive and helpful and the house had absolutely everything that you could need. This place is a gem!

Amazing location and amazing house/property. Everything was exactly as described. The views were absolutely stunning! We greatly appreciated the beach chairs, snorkel equipment and the kayaks/paddleboards. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. Beautiful home with all the amenities

Our family of 5 loved staying at this property. The views were amazing and we loved having the kayaks and paddleboard to explore Chalk Sound. The kitchen is fully stocked along with plenty of beach towels and bath towels. We would definitely stay here again!

It was OK

First, the best parts……location on Chalk Sound is excellent. This is our second time renting in the area and you can walk to Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay beaches within 10-15 min. Being able to to kayak with all 4 of us on the sound was fantastic and easy to get to Iguana Island. The VIEWS are incredible from the main building! Kitchen is well stocked with all the pans and utensils you’ll need if you plan on cooking. Some things to be aware of….there are bugs (a variety) that can sneak their way in through the window/door screens. Bug zappers are provided in the main building and both bedrooms to help. I messaged Colin that some of the screens have come loose from the frames and he was very quick to respond asking how many so he can order replacements. The indoor bug zappers were appreciated but even the need to have them was surprising….the last time we rented (approximately 10 houses down) we had zero issues with indoor bugs. So for everyone coming after us, you’ll hopefully be fine. For us it was a daily battle. The night before check out I wanted to do laundry as we had a second leg of our vacation and packed assuming we could wash our clothes. The washing machine stopped filling with water shortly after starting. It was very difficult to reach Colin this time. Messaged through VRBO, private email, text to cell and left 2 vm’s…..it took over 2 hours to hear back. Needless to say, the mechanic finally arrived about 9:00 pm and I was doing laundry until 10:30 pm.

Everything we were wanting

This trip and property were everything that we were looking for in a family vacation. From the layout to the stunning decks and dock we could not have dreamed of a better location. We had everything that we needed for our stay. And the paddle board and kayaks were such a treat! Felt like a private excursion every day being able to explore the Chalk Sound and little islands. We can not wait to come back and are looking forward to making this an annual trip!

A magical week in paradise.

My husband and I + our teenage boys (15&17) stayed at Poinciana for a week this March. We were looking for a transporting vacation to experience the raw beauty of the island away from the resorts and we couldn't have found a better place to be! The property is private and lush with multiple porches and decks to gaze out across the unbelievable blues of Chalk Sound. We loved the architecture and decor of the buildings, which were simple yet elegant. The open living/dining room surrounded by windows, with the most amazing breeze, was perfect for playing games, reading, and enjoying dinners together in the evenings. the bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable and worked perfectly for our family with older children. Having a dock to snorkel and swim from was amazing. We kayaked multiple times a day and loved going to feed bannanas to the (massive) Iguanas on the island right off the dock. We saw a sting ray and bone fish feeding right by the beach. There is a little reef just off from the house with lots of fish and anemones. On windy days, Taylor Bay beach was the best bet and we delighted in seeing a couple good size turtles just off the beach.The house is incredibly well stocked with anything you could ever want and we usually cooked/grilled two out of three meals. Although we rented a car for the trip and explored much of the island, what we loved the most about our Providenciales experience was this amazing property. Colin was a responsive and helpful host, thank you!

Family getaway

Our family of 5 had a fantastic stay at this villa. Situated right on Chalk Sound, it provided the perfect setting for kayaking adventures and easy access to Taylor Beach, which offered all the amenities we needed, from chairs and umbrellas to toys and a cooler, conveniently provided by the villa. The property lived up to its listing advertisement, and the host was incredibly responsive to any inquiries or needs we had. While the windy conditions around Chalk Sound were occasionally noticeable, the expansive deck surrounding the building provided a comfortable retreat. Additionally, the main bedroom was well-equipped with a small folding sofa and a crib, making our stay even more accommodating for our family.

Chalk Sound vacation

The property has everything you need! Pack your swimwear, your flip-flops and some casual clothes for dining out. Views from the porches were stunning. Especially as the light changed throughout the day. Colin was quick to respond to questions.

Best of the Best!

This was our first time visiting the island and my whole family is so happy we booked this place! The accommodations and the views are once in a lifetime! Colin Whyte, President of Martha's Vineyard Construction, left his happy childhood home near Biscayne Bay, FL to start a wonderful and varied journey that would one day lead him to sailboat summers, Martha’s Vineyard mansions and a company built from fortitude and perseverance. “I had enough support and stability at home that I could just go. I never knew that when I left home at age 16, I’d never be back again.” Choosing to go to an all boys boarding school in Tennessee, McCallie School taught hard lessons of discipline and survival. It was there that Colin made life-long friends and began to desire the mysteries that life and experience had to offer.

In hope of avoiding a sojourn in Vietnam Colin took off on his motorcycle, partnered with friends, and threw himself into education and small-time enterprises. Self-taught, he learned how to run a successful business from varied jaunts including: house moving, dictionary selling, surfboard renting, interning in the Senate, and—finally, construction clean up. Graduating from Brown University with a liberal arts degree led him to a winter at Law School, and a stint back at Brown Graduate School in art. “Applying to schools, I was really just a kid trying to stay out of Vietnam; little did I know, it was the motorcycle that would save me. A serious accident taught me the power of the motorcycle. My back was handed a lesson and Martha’s Vineyard became my home.”
