Perfect!

Wonderful cabin with top notch details throughout. Wine, coffee, use of kayaks, bikes and tubes. Although the river was low in front to fish, we enjoyed the water. Lots of lakes around to fish with beautiful scenery. The host responded quickly to any questions we had. Beds were comfortable and our son loved the loft to himself. We also had our two dogs who also loved all the space. We hope to return next year!

The best get-away

3rd (or 4th?) time at Little Moose and it’s still the best. Location, location, location. The view to the river is beautiful (and functional for kayakers / floaters). Sinclair lake in walking distance and Robinson lake a short drive are great fishing spots. Love the Little Moose, always in our hearts and minds, thank you for sharing this property!

We love the cabin

This was my second stay. Last year it was just me and I came back with my son, daughter in law, and 2 grandsons (6 and 8). We loved it. Everything was spotless, kitchen well stocked with all the necessities for cooking, comfortable beds, great wifi, beautiful setting. The whole coffee beans and grinder was a nice touch. We used the kayaks in Sinclair Lake as the river was too fast for us with the spring run off (novices). The boys enjoyed swimming in the lake also. Took several day trips to MT and Canada. Copper Falls hike is lovely and only about 10 minutes away. Will definitely return.

Relaxing vacation

Staying at the Little moose cabin was so relaxing. Every day we enjoyed sitting on the dock by the river, it was one of our favorite things to do. We went to several close by waterfalls. They are a must see. We also traveled to Canada one day.

Relax and Enjoy

Wow! This little spot is a piece of heaven. Cozy and comfortable. It snowed the first few nights; it was a vision of a Christmas card. Dimly lighted cabin with snow filled trees, running river out back. Christmas music playing, bottle of wine, pasta dinner; Couldn't ask for more! Butch and everyone at Far North Outfitters were inviting and fantastic to work with! Loved every minute!

Birthday trip

Even better then expected. We loved all the extra touches that made this cabin feel like coming home. We enjoyed using the firepit for cooking sausages and to view the stars when it got chilly.Lounging on the deck by the river with our charcuterie board and wine watching the neigbors chickens and goats. Bbqing steaks and eating at the bar. Sitting by the gas fireplace in the evening listening to great music. Finishing off the night with a dip in the hot tub. They thought of everything! Tubes and kayaks and fishing gear. A library. A bottle of wine and gourmet cookies await. The bed had quality bedding and was comfy- we could get cozy and watch movies in bed. Wifi is spotty in this rural location,so dont count on it ;)the train whistle reminded me of where i grew up.We limited out on trout at the unassuming sinclair lake. Drove to spruce lake and hiked in. Beautiful drive and a very short hike to get to this gem.lots more to explore. My dog loved it here too! Definitely planning a return summer trip. Thank you Butch for sharing. Well worth saving up for!

AMAZING LOG CABIN BEAUTIFUL LOCATION

This riverfront log cabin has everything you would want or need for a remote, quiet getaway with fishing right out your back door. The yard is green and spacious while the babbling river makes sitting on the lovely deck with a glass of wine so very enjoyable! The interior decor is top notch using lots of log features while the fireplace is warm and cozy. Butch is an amazing host who makes sure that your stay is everything you want it to be. Our stay was 10 days and we loved every minute. There is nearby fishing (Brush and Sinclair Lakes) as well as hiking; Copper Falls was especially beautiful and well worth seeing. The Canadian border is a short drive and having lunch in Creston, BC and seeing the beautiful scenery was a nice day trip. Be sure to take your passports. We had an amazing guided day trip fly fishing on the Kootenai River and many nice trout was caught. We highly recommend and plan to return. Northern Idaho is a beautiful place!

Bliss

Such a lovely, thoughtful home. Great attention to details which was noted and appreciated and we look forward to future visits ! Endless entertainment from watching the critters across the river was a great bonus not to be missed and we very much enjoyed the overall experience/adventure of our 3- days, only wish it had been longer [ have to book quicker next year as that was all that was open ] and you will too.

Amazing as always

My family and I always enjoy staying at this cabin and enjoy the hard work that the owner puts into it. It’s always incredibly clean and there is so much to do while there. We spent time down at the Sinclair lake and on the river, we especially love the view of it from the hot tub. Will be renting again next August .

Amazing little piece of heaven on earth

Absolutely beautiful log home with attention to detail in everything. The thought and care from the owners make it a great stay with amenities and everything you could need and more. Also a very beautiful and relaxing location on the river. We will definitely be back and couldn’t recommend it more.

About the host

Host profile image
We have owned and operated an outdoor store "Far-North Outfitters" in Bonners Ferry for 28 years, through out those years we have had many inquiries, as to if there was a log cabin on the river for rent, since we knew of no actual log cabins, right on the river, we set out to find the perfect spot ( took 5 years ), and build one ( 2 more years )..... And now, is completed and ready to be relaxed in....

Why they chose this property

I chose this spot specifically because it's right in the middle of all the things we did with our 4 daughters growing up in the 80's.., floating the Moyie River, Hiking to Copper Creek Falls, swimming in the pools, picking huckleberries up Deer Ridge, fishing at Robinson and Sinclair Lakes, having dinners at Fiest Creek Resort, feeding the huge trout in the pond etc... Because of the beauty and uniqueness of Far-North Idaho , We wanted to share this with others as well as always having a place, no matter what crazy place they end up, that they can come back to , to reground , and to share with their children.
