We loved the location of the house and we were able to keep our boat docked to take out for fishing. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Close proximity to everything we wanted to do! Will definitely be back!
The home was accommodating for the 4 of us. The dock was perfect for our 21ft boat. No room on property for boat trailer.
We parked our truck and trailer at the Riverhaven Marina, 4 day pass. We did not utilize the downstairs area of the home during our stay. The location is perfect for quick access to the Homosassa River. Great communication with owner. Would recommend this property.
This homosassa house was had an amazing location with a doc that fit our 2 boats. The house was very clean and we loved the bonus space downstairs with the pool table and ping pong table.
We stayed here for 4 nights at the opening of scalloping season. The communication was excellent and we were offered to check in early which was nice. The location is quiet and very relaxing. The home is very nice as well. It had everything we needed. The upstairs bathrooms were very spacious. The downstairs has a ping pong table and pool table so our teenagers really enjoyed that. We brought our 24’ boat and it was a plus to be able to dock it overnight behind the house. The run to the gulf was quick and easy. It’s a longer ride to the spring but still enjoyable. We would definitely consider this property for future visits.
This lovely home is in a great location that allows you to take advantage of all that Homosassa has to offer. Great for boating and enjoying the view of the river. The hosts were very accommodating and always got back to us in timely manner whenever we had any questions. Looking forward to our next visit!
We liked this part of old Homosassa because it was quiet and there were many canals in the river close by as well as great places to eat. We didn’t bring a boat or kayaks, but they would be ideal at this location. There is a nice rec room downstairs for ping-pong and pool and darts. Our host couple was very responsive to a couple of minor needs. The beds were great and we used the charcoal grill frequently.
Excellent, owners cleaned up waterfront property within 2 days after Hurricane Idalia stormed through. Good dock for tie-up of 24' boat. Great scalloping and fishing in Homosassa Bay.
Nice, roomy home on a canal. Very limited parking! We brought our e-bikes so we had to drive our full size trucks, two in total and could barely fit one in the garage, while our friends parked their truck in the driveway. Beautiful, sideways view of the water from the house. We loved all the decks outside. Comfortable beds and AC works well in the home. My husband enjoyed the chairs in the living space. WiFi was spotty. Enjoyed the game room on the first level that has a pool table, dart board, ping pong table and cards, but had to open all the screened doors to air out to enjoy. We will definitely be back.
Thank you for sharing your home! Great location for Gulf fishing and scalloping. House is roomy and comfortable. Comfortable beds. I had brought my own microwave cooking bowl, otherwise had to use the dinnerware for that. Nice boat dock. We had a great time!
Stayed during scalloping season because more friends and family rented nearby. Very large, clean canal house but limited parking which is stated in the description. Would only bring boat once it’s in the water next time. We enjoyed scalloping in the gulf, fishing, kayaking and floating in the springs. If you need a break from cooking your own catch there are many good local restaurants. Would definitely rent here again! Thank you Steve and Debbie
This is a great place to stay in Homosassa. Owners were always quick in responding to any of the questions we had. Location is wonderful and a nice dock for our boat. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again next year! Thanks Debbie & Steve.
Home was clean, location was nice and close to restaurants by boat. Only negatives would be the absence of an ice machine, and no where to clean the scallops/fish back at the dock. We had a great trip though. Thankful Tropical Storm Fred stayed far enough off the coast that it didn’t impact our stay. Owners/manager extremely responsive to any questions we had. We’ve been coming over to Homosassa for the last 16 years and would certainly consider staying here again.
My spouse, friend, and I all stayed for a long weekend for scalloping. The house had a dock that was plenty large enough for two small boats. The dock was in good shape and easy to use. The main river is about a 3 minute ride and maybe 10-15 to the main boat ramp in the area. This was the biggest positive of the property. The house was large enough to fit all of us and more if we could (although the 3 bedroom listing had a 4 person limit). The owners were very easy to talk to and responded quickly to any inquiries we made. Some of the cons we encountered. The first I believe was just coincidence, the A/C upstairs was not performing well. During the day the temp could not get lower than 80. At night it was comfortable at about 73. The owners did act immediately to send a tech out the next day. Unfortunately that tech couldn’t fix the issue. We were able to hang out downstairs in the large game room that stayed ice cold! Eventually an ac tech came the day we left and confirmed a leak in the system. Again, not really anyone’s fault and the owners made many attempts to fix it and communicated the whole time. My biggest con is definitely the parking. In the listing it did not specify the very limited parking. It wasn’t until after I paid that I saw a small note about no trailer parking and vehicle limit. Then when we arrived it was reiterated that the parking was very limited and strict. When I booked this, I thought we would be able to park the boat trailers in the driveway because nothing said anything different. Months later, after Homossassa was booked everywhere, we learned we had to find elsewhere to park the boat trailers. Our group had to park the trucks and trailers at the public ramp. Not a huge issue, just unexpected and inconvenient. Just be aware that there is a three car MAX and if you have a big truck, maybe less. And again, NO trailer parking. Beside the parking issue, the owners were nice and the property was very nice and low key. This is perfect for a couple or two to get away and relax. A bigger group (4+) would be very difficult to do because of the occupant limit and parking situation. I would definitely stay here again but probably just me and the wife and kids.
Had a great time. The house is easy to find by boat and clean. Having the dock out back was great! Very close to restaurants on the water. Communication with the owners was great. They are quick to respond and answer any questions. Would highly recommend. Thank you for sharing your home.
The home and location of the property were beautiful. The owners were very nice and available when we had questions or concerns. A few things we would suggest improving upon would be :
- more privacy for the downstairs bedroom. There are large sliding doors to the outside without any type of blind or curtain and there is no door or covering offering privacy to the bed area.
- very minimal parking is available. The neighbors complain if you step foot on their property so you are definitely very limited with only the driveway space. Two of our vehicles barely fit in the driveway.
- the dock space was advertised as 50’ however a good portion of that (about 20’) is taken up by a boat lift that is unavailable to move or use.
- upon arrival, we noticed there were no clean towels to be found. We did find a handful of wet towels left hanging on a hook behind the door that we had to wash. The downstairs toilet had not been flushed and there was a bathing suit liner laying on the master shower floor. The house did not seem “dirty” but when you walk into that, you can’t help but question whether things had been cleaned prior to our arrival.
