Great for Family Getaway!

This house is the perfect choice for total relaxation and creating special memories. Our family, including elderly parents, was looking for a place that was conducive to talking and playing games, and that also had activities in the surrounding area for those who wanted to venture out. Lost Bear Cabin had the ideal set up for us. The house is beautifully decorated, has an extensively stocked kitchen with cookware, appliances, and spices to meet most all cooking needs, and also comes with a guest basket of basic toiletries that may have been forgotten in the packing process. The property manager is very responsive and provided us with an extensive set of instructions that made navigating all aspects of our stay seamless. There is a gorgeous view of the mountains from the back of the house, and our favorite experience was sitting around the gas fire pit on the side porch and catching up. We are so appreciative of the opportunity to stay at this wonderful property and highly recommend it!

Immaculate home

Immaculate and meticulously stocked home. As a professional organizer for a living I was thoroughly impressed with how thoughtfully and beautifully set up this home is for guests. Maybe the cleanest rental property we’ve ever stayed in. Didn’t hurt we were there for a ski trip and for 8 inches of snow our first night! Property is beautiful as is but even more when it’s snow covered.

Great House - we will return, for sure!

Not a single complaint about this property - NOTHING! The description is 100% honest, if anything, maybe a bit understated. The house is large, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and in absolutely pristine condition. The linens and mattresses are as comfortable as home. The kitchen is BEYOND “well-stocked” with seasoning, spices, pots, pans - absolutely 100% of everything you can possbily need or want. The fir-pit has ample fire-wood - in fact, 4 sizes of precut wood - and more than you can possibly need. Tinder, kindling, split logs - AND fire-starters. TV in every room, SONOS, excellent wifi, and on and on and on! If this house is on your list - because it is available for your dates… stop thining about it and BOOK IT!

Clean and Gorgeous

We had a fantastic time with our kids on our weekend of skiing. This house is gorgeous with amazing architecture, design and interior decoration. We hope me too return in the future with more families. It was also spotless and had a ton of linens. We also appreciated the paper products. Thank you for a great weekend! Your home is amazing!

Lost Bear

This is a beautifully appointed home with a spacious great room furnished with comfy furniture, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and top of the line appliances. We missed having a gas fireplace but found the house to be well heated throughout. There is a hill behind the house that provided good sledding for our grandkids. We had a good weekend and would recommend this property.

We enjoyed our stay at Lost Bear!

We enjoyed Lost Bear Cabin with three families. We had a total of 12 people and found we had plenty of room to spread out and have fun. The kids all stayed in the basement and loved having their own space to play pool and other games and watch TV. The boys loved the bunk beds! We did find the basement to be a bit cold. The kitchen was well stocked and very functional. It took us some time to get used to the stove but the owners left good instructions for all appliances. We thought the kitchen could use more light for our aging eyes. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the linens that were provided. Our group enjoyed the outdoor wood fire pit the most. We cooked lunch one day outside and also s’mores one evening. We did not use the propane fire pit on the deck. Our only complaints were the wifi, tvs and water supply. There were 9 or 10 tvs in the house but we could only have two on at any one time. We honestly didn’t watch much tv during the days, but in the evenings it would have been nice. Wifi was spotty which we expected. Data from our cellular service was better. We also ran completely out of water one evening and did not feel we used an excessive amount of water during our stay. The supply seemed to replenish overnight and was back the next morning. All three families agreed that we would love to come back to the cabin again as a group. The house was beautiful, comfortable and views were amazing. Keith was very responsive and access to the property was hassle free. We are looking forward to another relaxing vacation at Lost Bear. Thanks for the memories!

Perfect spot & perfect home & perfect stay.

Every year we travel to southern PA from DC to meet friends from Cleveland for a weekend getaway. This house was perfect for our party of 8 adults. Each room had a full bathroom. Everything from sheets&towels to cookware felt new and the home layout was well thought out. The pantry was stocked with paper plates, cups, napkins, even zip lock bags. The check in/out process could not have been smoother. Grateful for a great stay.

Perfect for family and friends

We have rented this house twice in the past month and it’s just perfect for us plenty of room for our family of 5 and our friends family of 6 plus our two nannies. There is so much room to spread out. It’s also decorated so tastefully and comfortably. The basement is an adults playground! Each time we rented this house we skied at seven springs or hidden valley and it was just so nice to come back to this warm, welcoming mountain house with a beautiful view of the snow crystal covered trees. Thank you for another great stay!

Great Family Home

We loved our stay at Lost Bear Cabin. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in the property - it is thoughtfully decorated, impeccably clean, and well-stocked for every contingency. Our group was very comfortable and we enjoyed the social atmosphere of the Great Room and the beautiful views. We also took a hike around the property in the snow and made use of the outdoor fire pit. It's really a great place for a group of any size.

Ski getaway with family

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Lost Bear cabin this past weekend. The house is gorgeous, with big spacious rooms, sweeping views, and meticulous attention to detail as far as decor and amenities. We went skiing daily at seven springs, only about 20 minutes from the house. It was always nice to return home to this beautiful cabin after a long day on the slopes. We hope we can return again soon!

Just the Break Everyone Needed!

After years of searching for and failing to find a newer, exceptional vacation rental in the Laurel Highlands, we finally (and thankfully) discovered Lost Bear Cabin! This idyllic property comfortably accommodated our party of 11 (ages 8 - 66) with plenty of room to spare. From the ample and level parking to the bedroom configurations and everything in-between, LBC checked all the blocks. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a welcoming autumn wreath at the front entry, an expansive freshly-mowed lawn, exceptionally clean interior and exterior spaces and a generous supply (not the standard “starter kit”) of paper products and other necessities in the bathrooms and kitchen. The spacious mudroom just inside the main entry door proved the perfect staging area for luggage, coolers and other items while unloading and loading vehicles. Glorious fall color was on full display throughout the impressive landscape, and viewing a herd of deer leisurely walking through the fire pit area on its march down to the grassy lower lawn was a hoped-for bonus. With much appreciation to Keith & Patty for having us! The Boehm, Lauffer and Chase families of western Pennsylvania and Georgia

Picturesque, pristine, immaculate, comprehensive and idyllic - the perfect place to get away.

Exquisitely appointed and meticulously maintained, Lost Bear is an pristine oasis splendidly located in the picturesque Laurel Mountains. Keith Sacchini has attended to ever detail in the design and decoration of his “log cabin” to the degree that anything that one could conceivably want or need is readily available. From the Sonos music system to the hammock to the s’mores tongs to be used at the fire pit, Lost Bear is a paradise in the woods. If you are interested in decompressing and enjoying a sylvan setting with the full amenities of home, Lost Bear is a can’t miss choice.

Great place to "get away" during COVID social distancing.

We met at this house, which was roughly the halfway point between NY & Chicago, to see our immediate family. It was a fantastic house, very well-stocked & setup for a relaxing stay. Given COVID, we didn't do much beyond hike and cook, but it was a nice setup for everyone. The only complaint I would have is that the internet is horribly slow (worse than a phone being used as a hotspot). It was impossible to do Zoom video calls for work or watch Netflix or Hulu from an iPad. But, in the grand perspective, that could be seen as a "good thing" to unplug for a bit. Overall, I'd highly recommend the house, if this sounds like something you are looking for.
