We feel that the floors, especially, need a thorough cleaning. The bathtub/shower area also needs a good scrubbing. The property is on a busy road, so it is not easy to sleep with the windows open - too noisy! Beds were comfortable! We did not have any problems with the owners being in the same house, other than that meant we had no place to cook. Microwave, coffee maker, teapot, toaster and dishes were available for use.
This was a bad experience for us. The accommodation was advertised as having 3bedrooms and 3 bathrooms but it had only one bathroom with a half toilet downstairs. This was not made clear that it was a shared accommodation. The owners live in the house and everything it shared., this was not what we expected. We could only stay one night out of the four we paid for and we could hardly sleep. This property is right on the road and with no air conditioning, you have to open the windows for air and the noise of passing traffic continued till the early hours of the morning. We had to move out the next day to go pay for a different accommodation.
The owner was friendly on initial contact, unfortunately the guests were not impressed and did not end up staying there at all. The shared accommodations should be made more clear on the posting as it is very difficult to secure accomodations in Vancouver in the summer. Please continue investigating this issue as I think others may be upset as well.
