Te Papa Rua (Our Place Two) is a fully selfcontained 3 bedroom house. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the third bedroom has two single beds. There is also a porta cot available. The house has a heat pump and there is also a wood heater in the lounge area making it an ideal winter getaway. Tepapa Rua is fully fenced and is pet friendly as well, but they must be kept outside. There is a covered well protected carport area at the back door.
Sea Change
A perfect sea change, this kid friendly holiday home is perfect for a weekend getaway for two families or a romantic holiday for two. There are beautiful sea views with Satelite Island in the forground and the Hartz mountains in the distance. A few minutes walk to the jetty where there are safe moorings and good fishing. The Alonnah Hotel and store is a 10 minute walk along the beach.
Things to do on your way to Alonnah
On your way to Alonnah there is the look out at the neck, well worth the effort of climbing the stairs to see the fabulous view. The neck is where you would come back to at dusk to see the little penguins coming to shore to nest. Take a torch with red plastic over the lens so that it doesnt scare them. If you are into oysters look out for Get Shucked on your left, the sign sneaks up on you. The cheese factory (gumboot on the sign) has free tastings. They serve platters and wine.

We loved our stay. Plenty of room, although it's a bit dated we were happy to pay less and still get a great property, beautiful views, good sized rooms, well set up kitchen. Host was great at communicating, ringing to touch base when he heard that the area had lost power which was totally out of his control. Thoroughly recommend!
Overall I would stay again, but I think it would be better in the summer.
Positives:
Great location for exploring south Bruny Island, and handy to the local hotel for meals (we didn't use the cooking facilities).
The washing machine was handy, and the shower and hot water was good.
Not so positive:
The property was a bit cold, even though we used the air conditioner before lighting the wood fire. Once the fire got going the heating was better, however the firebox was full of ashes from previous guests, I had to keep collecting wood from outside (which was wet), and there were only 6 matches for a 3 night stay.
The area under the couch cushions hadn't been cleaned in a long while.
The potholes in the driveway in front of the gate could also do with some maintenance.
Visiting for our son’s wedding. Comfortable, clean, well equipped house with wonderful views. Great communication with owner. Will definitely book again if we visit beautiful Bruny again.

Needs more maintence...?
Apartment is cold, as it has no curtains on the deck-verandah window & the kitchen window. Stove rangehood is not working. Bathroom exhaust not working.
Excellent old fashioned style accomodation with great view
Really enjoyed our stay in the huge cabin/house.

Communication was wonderful & so easy to access our stay. A lovely home in a fantastic location with beautiful views. Plenty of room for the whole family to stay :) I highly recommend
An oldish but comfortable beach house. A good base to explore South Bruny. Everything you require for a short or longer stay. To improve stay enough milk to be supplied for first night would be nice. Driveway access to the property needs to be improved as it is very slippery for a normal car.
Great location, easy walk down to the beach and wonderful tracks for dog walks. Place was very peaceful, loved the character of the house. Beds were wonderful!
We both loved staying in the house which had plenty of yard for our dog to run and sniff out all the new smells. A very comfortable bed with really nice thick cotton sheets and a beautiful view to sit and have meals and just relax. Loved our stay
Lovely property with a view through large picture windows. Very well equipped and comfortable. Even has electric blankets and a washing machine. Good location, short drive to the pub and in Alonnah.
We had a wonderful stay. Warm and welcoming accomodation. The view is magical and relaxing. Family friendly, close to the famous Hotel Bruny and beautiful walks. Comfortable beds and the kitchen is great for cooking your own food. Thank you for having us. Communication was excellent! We can’t wait to come back.
This is a spacious and comfortable house in a wonderful location. It felt welcoming and had all the facilities we needed. We wanted to stay beyond our booking.
