Centrally located to everything! Comfortable beds, well stocked, awesome book with information about surrounding cities and things to do, river maps, hiking maps, everything was perfect. Great firepit and back yard. Thank you for being great hosts!
The Shack was a wonderful place for me and my children to stay as a homebase for a visit to explore Western Michigan. Each day we would journey out to nearby cities, beaches, excursions & we’re thrilled to return to the wooded, shaded, well appointed “cabin”. It is immaculately clean has everything you may need, extra blankets and pillows, laundry, a well appointed kitchen, and a yard and fire pit to die for. Absolutely gorgeous! We would return without hesitation! Thank you for sharing your property.
Small clean house in great location. Perfect for Tippy Dam, Casino, and Traks Bar/Restaurant. Fully updated and reasonable price. Grill could be better is about only thing I would recommend. Thanks Kristie!
This was our second time staying at the Shack. We enjoyed the property the second time just as much as the first. The location and easy access were just what we were looking for during our time in Brethren.
House was awesome!!! Ate outside, had bonfires, played games and enjoyed family time. Went to the beach only around 20 minutes away, went fishing, and hiking! Great location in a quite neighborhood!
The Shack perfectly met our needs. We were looking for a quiet getaway that was reasonably close to Lake Michigan beaches. The spacious kitchen and outdoor gas grill worked well since we made most of our dinners at the house. The backyard was a peaceful place to have a bonfire. We made day trips to Manistee, Empire, and Glen Arbor all were nice locations with nice beaches, coffee shops and a bit of shopping.
This is our second stay at the shack. It was still very clean and had everything we needed. It is remarkable how cool it stays for having no air conditioning! We had a small plumbing problem (could happen anywhere) and they had it fixed and all cleaned up before we got back from dinner! (does NOT happen anywhere!) Highly recommend. :)
The Shack more than met our needs for a ski weekend. It was nicely stocked with pans, utensils, toiletries, linens and even had a crock pot. The only trouble we had was with the electronic door lock at check-in, but the host quickly resolved the issue and we didn't have any other problems for the rest of our stay.
What a perfect place to stay. Enjoyed the huge yard, bin fire fit and enjoyed family time. If you are looking for something around the Manistee River or Bear Creek…. THIS IS IT!
My husband and I purchased this home because we love the area and have vacationed here for many years. We hope you enjoy Northern Michigan as much as well do!
