Great location-had everything we needed!

We needed a place near downtown, but didn’t want to be downtown. This place was perfect for our needs. Kitchen was small, but had everything we needed. Plus, the host provided our favorite soda for us in the fridge. A nice touch! We would stay here again:)

Cozy Hideaway

Our stay was perfect!!! From start to finish we couldn’t have asked for more. The location was perfect for us as it sits right between our two favorite spots. The hostess was attentive without being obtrusive. She thought of every little thing making sure we didn’t have to do without. Our permanent SA hideaway!

"Casita Corazon"--a cottage with a heart indeed!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casita. It's a beautiful cottage-like setting with cozy--but not cramped--accommodations. A large bedroom with very comfortable king-size bed. One and a half bathrooms! Lovely dining/relaxing area off the functional kitchenette. The back yard has a deck and gazebo for outdoor relaxing. Carla, the owner, is wonderfully friendly, thoughtful, generous, and energetic. We found the location quiet despite being near a couple of busy roads. They did not bother us. And the location is handy to everything we wanted to visit--easy access to countless restaurants and top-tier sightseeing attractions. We hope to go back someday, and we heartily recommend it to others.

Charming Casita

We stayed at this beautiful Casita for a week. The home is beautifully decorated and equipped. Carla is a great hostess that will help you if you need anything. The location is wonderful and very peaceful. Unfortunately due to the summer weather, we were not able to enjoy the beautiful gardens. We highly recommend this Casita and hope to return. We also recommend Sorento Italian Restaurant, the food is great and nearby.

A lovely home away from home

Carla is a fantastic hostess and her guest suite is perfect! There is a large bedroom with a king size bed, a separate bathroom and dressing area/closet, a nice view of the lush patio and backyard. There is an additional sleeping nook with a writing area. Another half bath is also very nice. The kitchen and comfy sitting area/dining nook also look out on the lovely deck and backyard, complete with a cabana.

Highlight of our 2024 eclipse trip!

The property was delightful - homey, lots of outdoor space and seating, very well maintained and clean. The location was perfect - quiet, but easy access to downtown and the sights. Our hostess, Carla, was welcoming, attentive, and informative, without being obtrusive. We were welcomed with snacks and wine - perfect after a long day of travel! After the eclipse, Carla treated us to special eclipse-themed cupcakes! We’ve stayed at many rentals over the years in many places around the country. Very few could even hold a candle to this. We predict that we will be back!

This is my second stay at this lovely property and my go to for future trips to the Alamo City! Wonderful neighborhood close to all the good things in the city and easy access to major highways and JBSA. Lovely place with all the amenities to include a great patio and yard. Charming casita in Alamo Heights

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Darling cottage with exceptional amenities. Master bed was uber comfortable. We had everything we needed and more! Gorgeous yard area for enjoying drinks or coffee and we took photos in that area as we were there for a special event. Close to everything we needed downtown and at Fort Sam. We could have definitely extended our stay if we were able and can’t wait to come back again! Thanks so much for the great bottle of wine and chips and salsa. We enjoyed! Can’t say enough about this lovely home!!

Wonderful Rental, Location and Hosts!

We had a very enjoyable time at this stylish casita! Everything was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Communication was easy, responsive and relaxed with onsite hosts. It was the perfect size for the two of us and could've easily slept a few more. It's an easy drive in to downtown activities, pearl district, etc., and then can return home to a safe, quiet and very nice neighborhood (where we enjoyed several walks). We also took advantage of the spacious backyard and multiple seating options to relax and enjoy the treats the gracious hosts had waiting for us. Gretchen also pointed us to some amazing wineries in hill country - perfect outing for a chilly early spring day! Don't miss a trip to the nearby HEB grocery store - "half food / half amusement park" is how they describe themselves :o) Iron Cactus was a great choice for lunch on Riverwalk - try the tamale pops! Alamo and Bluestar brewpubs were fun and for sure make a trip out to 5 Stones Brewery in New Braunfels; you'll love the beers and the outdoor beer garden is huge, relaxing and shaded!

Great property in a great location!

Our original plans included a stay at a hotel on the riverwalk. At the last minute, we decided not to stay among the crowds. We were lucky enough to find this property open for the 2 nights we needed. I am so glad we changed our plans. This property is everything you see in the listing and more. The moment you walk in, you feel welcomed by the details that go above and beyond what you would expect. The place was immaculate and the location was great, not far from anything, but away from the craziness of the downtown area. After a long day among the crowded tour areas, it was so nice to feel like you were coming home. The bed was outstanding. Seems like a weird thing to notice, but when you are away from home, you miss the comforts of your own bed. I can honestly say the bed was better than the one we have at home, and ours is high end. If you are considering this property, don’t hesitate to book it. You won’t be disappointed.

A great stay in San Antonio!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this property. It was well decorated, and the owners clearly paid a great deal of attention to detail in virtually everything. Simple things like K-Cups were generously supplied. We will make this our base of operations whenever we go to San Antonio.

Quick weekend visit

My husband and I needed a place near our daughter’s apartment for a Father’s Day weekend. This was the perfect location. It’s quiet, beautifully decorated, and the bed is so comfortable! We picked up carry out food and played board games in the cozy living room and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Why they chose this property

As lifetime San Antonians, with time out for life in New York City and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, we wanted to come home to be part of our community and help build its future. We chose Alamo Heights, because of our deep roots near here and because, from our point of view, it is the crown jewel of San Antonio's diverse neighborhoods. When we bought the house, it was a small, simple artist's cottage in a wooded area, with lovely fruit trees, and boasting a small studio for painting. Over the years we have expanded the house and filled it with our curated treasures, art and antiques from here and abroad, giving it a unique and eclectic flavor, but , most of all, a sense of warmth and welcome to all. Along with that expansion came the development of our separate casita, and opening it to guests from many States and, indeed , around the world, from places like Taiwan, China, Canada and Europe, all of whom it has been our pleasure to welcome and assist with their explorations of our home town.

What makes this property unique

What is truly unique about our home is its location in a one of a kind warm, friendly, beautiful and safe neighborhood, near the best of all that San Antonio offers, and the rich, welcoming ambiance we have been able to create here.
