The cottage has had a mini makeover with a new bathroom. House on the hill is a home away from home with a full kitchen equipped with all the pots, pans and utensils you need to cook up a feast and a BBQ on the deck to enjoy alfresco dining if the weather is nice. The huge deck overlooking the bay of Port Campbell is a highlight with stairs into the huge yard for easy access.
The cottage has heating in all bedrooms plus a split system in the main living space which also helps to cool the house in summer. The cottage has a homely feel with plenty of natural light, comfortable beds, and free wifi.
There are also lots of bird life and rabbits on the headland for spotting, and it is also the home of the endangered Southern brown bandicoot if you are lucky enough to find one.
Its location is unique because you are only meters from the southern ocean, so close you can hear all the sound of the ocean and watch the ever changing bay as the swells and weather changes.
Guest Access:
The house is a free standing home so you have the whole place to yourselves. Free wifi is included. Uninterrupted views of the bay of Port Campbell. Huge deck and yard to enjoy.
There is a washing machine and detergent plus a dryer provided to do laundry, and a clothes line on the deck for when the weather is good.
The Neighborhood:
Port Campbell is a small quaint coastal town, with everything within walking distance and a beautiful safe swimming beach. It is located only 10 minutes drive to the world famous 12 apostles and many other natural wonders on the great ocean road such as Gibson's steps, London bridge, Lochard gorge, the grotto & the arch (see guidebook for more info or check out the visitor information website).
With so many things to see close by Port Campbell is a great base to spend a few days exploring what the area has to offer.
Getting Around:
Plenty of free parking at the house for those on a self drive. Port campbell is quite isolated in terms of public transport but there is a V-Line service if you are up for a challenge.
There is also a free shuttle bus that departs from the 12 Apostles car park and takes you to princetown to allow you to do the last leg of the Great Ocean walk if you are keen to explore on foot. More info on this can be found at www.thegreatoceanwalk.com
Other Things to Note:
If this cottage is full booked for your dates please check out our new listing - RED CEDAR COTTAGE- it’s also a great cottage for groups and families and in the same price range.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests are provided with a code for the key safe so they can arrive as they chose. I am only a phone call away for any issues during your stay as I live close by.
