Ministry of Tourism Certified. The Blue Pearl Cottage is located in a perfectly protected bay, with crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming, kayaking, or fishing right off the jetty.
Our place is ideal for romantic couples, honeymooners & sea lovers who like the beauty of nature in a safe environment, right at the waterfront.
Long Bay Beach, one of Antigua's most beautiful snorkeling beaches, is only a 5 minute walk away.
We offer privacy, boat tours, snorkeling, fishing & diving courses.

This Eco Cottage encompasses a large studio bedroom and well equipped kitchen, a spacious veranda with hammocks, and a large, attached, open-air bathroom. The cottage has been designed to take full advantage of the constant and cooling Trade Winds; you never need air conditioning, but a powerful fan is available. There are no glass windows: you control the breeze by adjusting the shutters.
The bathroom is fitted with a hot water rain shower.
Surrounded by a lush tropical garden visited regularly by hummingbirds, the cottage and veranda offer great views of the bay with its abundant marine life.
Enjoy the cooling breezes while relaxing in the hammocks and watch fish jump as pelicans fly overhead. Or get a closer view from the lounge chairs on the waterfront, a few steps down from the cottage.

Perfect stay

Waking up every morning in the blue pearl felt like heaven … whilst not especially breezy during our stay, the cottage was always cool. Rustic but stylish decor … Arno had clearly put much love and effort into the blue pearl in every way. We loved our stay and will definitely return as soon as we can.

Wonderful stay Antigua

We had a peaceful and private stay at Arnos rental property in Antigua, enjoying stunning views and direct water access. It helped that the weather was perfect. Long Bay Beach, just a 5-minute walk away, was beautiful and well-equipped with dining options. Although we planned to explore the island, we felt so at home that we spent most of our time relaxing at the property and nearby beach. A friendly tip: bring mosquito repellent for added comfort. Highly recommended, and we hope to return!

Didn't see anything quite like it in Antigua.....

Fantastic waterfront home. Built with incredible amount of thought and vision, this house was perfectly fit in to the lush hillside. The host/owner. Arno, put great care into everything when constructing it, and if you're the type that likes to stay put and chill, it's for you. Plenty of fun, right off his dock with kayaks, snorkle gear right there. The open air concept of the home was very comfortable. Mid April was a lovely time for us to be there. Very few bugs - my wife usually struggles with that in the Caribbean- but did fine here with the consistent breeze. The open air bathroom is perfect. One of the unsung amenities wasPuss-puss the house cat! A sweetheart for sure, always there when you come home from a day trip to make you feel at home.Take a trip with Arno on his boat to really see the neighborhood- he's knowledgeable as can be, and fun to hang with. Quit second guessing and book it!

Relax & Refresh

House sits on a peaceful bay. Spent most of the time relaxing in the hammocks on the deck. Snorkeling and diving with Arno was so much fun and lots to see… Great place to unplug and reconnect with nature. Highly recommend!!

Can't recommend highly enough

The place is even better than advertised. Beautiful views, extremely clean, and everything you need to unplug and slow down. Arno is great and extremely attentive to anything you may need. We plan to come back here on all subsequent trips to Antigua - much more relaxing and romantic than any of the resorts.

Relaxation

The property was perfect for relaxing. We cooked most of our dinners at the rental and even had 2 fish dinners after going on a barracuda trolling excursion with Arno. We sat near the dock every night and watched the stars, and saw sting rays and a moray eel by the dock during the day. The outdoor bathroom was fantastic. And for having no glass or screens on the windows the mosquitos were hardly noticeable. Arno has 2 mosquito traps that work great!

Peaceful Perfection

I don’t want to tell you how amazing this place is … or you will steal all the time for when we come back as soon as possible. The sounds of the ocean and the breeze…morning swims, evening star gazing … it was so hard to leave. Thank you to Arno and Solveig, our new Antigua familia. We couldn’t have imagined anything more peaceful and beautiful.

Beautiful and quiet cottage

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway, The Blue Pearl is highly recommended. It is an eco-cottage and open air, but the constant breezes keep it comfortable. We didn't cook there except for sandwiches and reheating leftovers, but the kitchen was fully equipped if we wanted to. The hammocks were comfy and we spent our evenings swaying in the breeze as we wound down from the day. The sunrises were spectacular from the cottage, the natural light gently waking us in the morning. The cottage is a great place to disconnect and step away from it all, swaying in a hammock and reading a book, watching the birds fly across the bay. The dock is a nice place to observe smaller fish. Go down at night and shine a light into the water and watch the little fish gather as the light brings bugs they will jump for.Highly recommend having Arno take you on a snorkeling trip. Seeing the island from the water is breathtaking and the snorkeling was wonderful. He also offers scuba trips if you are a diver. Arno was easy to communicate with and offered many recommendations on where to go. The cottage kitty (Pusspuss) is a sweetie and we welcomed her company as we are cat lovers. When we come back to Antigua someday, we would stay here again.

Peaceful - Calm - Quiet - Totally relaxing

An absolute gem. One big studio room, immaculately clean and tidy and extremely well equipped, opening onto a verandah that overlooks the bay. Down at the water’s edge, a couple of loungers and the jetty with a good ladder for getting into and out of the water. Good safe swimming. And nobody around. Arno’s snorkelling trip was well worthwhile - best I have ever done in Antigua. And one day we did nothing at all; all day. We left today on our way home and are now at a good hotel - but the people, and the noise! What a contrast.

Pure Paradise

This is a wonderful property for anyone who wants to embrace the outdoors and beauty of Antigua. We use it as a base for exploring the island both in and out of the water. We enjoyed a half day guided snorkeling cruise with the host and his partner. We kayaked across the bay for a fun approach to visiting Devil’s Bridge. Another morning we took a short drive - 8 minutes - to watch a beautiful sunrise at Devil’s Bridge. Long Bay Beach is a short walk over a hill and had great snorkeling. Blue Pearl is even better than it looks in the pictures. Thank you Arno for your amazing property.

Be inspired by windward beauty

Blue Pearl is a gem. Private, simple, and so homey. We spent a week at Arno's friendly spot... could not have gone better. We loved the fresh breeze, southeastern exposure, proximity to Long Bay, and his cat, Pu$$Pu$$. If you want to get away from it all, this place is ideal! Arno can even personally show you great snorkeling, kayaking, and reggae spots. He even has aquatic pets - just ask! If you stay here and do not like the relaxing simplicity, just leave a comment below. I will be sure to read it right away!

Total Chill

This place is very basic but was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation spot in the Caribbean. It is very private with good amenities in an area away from the crowds. Arno the host is a great communicator and genuinely wants you to enjoy your time and goes out of his way to respect your privacy and ensure your stay is enjoyable. Long Bay beach and Mama Pasta's is nearby. both are very good in terms of quality. There are also villagers nearby that cook some fantastic jerk chicken, I would strongly recommend using Arno's service for a half day fishing/snorkeling tour on his boat that is docked at the house. Overall, it was a great experience and I would most definitely stay here again. it was one of the highlights of our trip.

As Good As It Gets

My husband and I have been vacationing in Antigua for 15 years sometimes staying at a resort that overlooks Dian Bay, a slender inlet that I love to snorkel for its clear water and abundance of sea life. Scrambling every morning to secure beach-front chairs, we often looked longingly at an elegant wooden house across the bay, lovely in its simplicity and harmony with the land. So we were delighted to discover the house on VRBO one day. Upon arrival, we fell in love; within three days, we had booked the place for the following year. The house is everything we need – a king bed, a well stocked kitchen, 2 hammocks on the generous front porch, plenty of areas of sun and shade, a spacious open-air bathroom, and two private lounge chairs on the water. No glass windows and due to two incredibly effective mosquito-eating machines, no mosquitos either. Living there is a bit like living shipboard. Open shutters allow for a steady breeze, and we were immersed in the natural rhythms of the island beginning with sunrise, which we saw each morning from the bed as we woke. Given that we had booked 3 weeks, we had expected to walk often to nearby Long Bay, arguably the best snorkeling beach on the island. But why leave paradise? We used a rental car to shop at either of two supermarkets, 10-15 minutes away, but otherwise toggled contentedly between the hammocks, the water, and the lounge chairs. Arno, who lives up the hill, is an outstanding host: professional (he has a degree from a Swiss hotel school), enthusiastic, and attentive to our needs as well as our privacy. We hired him and his boat for a glorious day out on the water, snorkeling and sightseeing. Among other things, he booked taxis and helped expedite covid tests upon our leaving. And best of all, with only one very good Italian restaurant within walking distance, he will provide – with enough notice and to the extent that he is available – a small menu of excellent home-cooked dinners (as an erstwhile regional New York Times restaurant reviewer, I feel qualified to attest to the quality of the food). We count the months until our return!

Exceptional!

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying at the Blue Pearl. The pictures capture it pretty perfectly, but being there truly felt like an island paradise. Kristina cooked us a delicious dinner our first night (we highly recommend booking meals with her!). We used Arno’s snorkel gear throughout our stay, but our best day of snorkeling was with Arno on his boat (also highly recommend!). We loved setting up hammocks on the porch and eating BBQ by the water. Before we went, we had wondered if the glass-less windows would give us trouble with heat or mosquitos, but we had no trouble at all. We just opened the shutters to let in the ocean breeze, and the mosquito traps they have set up are excellent. We were glad we took Arno’s suggestion to book a rental car with Drive-A-Matic and got a great four-wheel drive vehicle (many of the island’s roads are in a rough condition so the four-wheel drive was a huge help). For pandemic travelers: we had to get a COVID test to re-enter the US and Arno really helped us by recommending a local clinic for a rapid test - it’s much faster and cheaper than going to Mount Saint John’s Medical Centre, so definitely ask him about it before you book an appointment! We feel lucky to have stayed at such an exceptional place.

Amazing stay in paradise!

This property was everything I need for a solo relaxing vacation! The property is gorgeous and quiet. Long Bay beach is less than a 5 minute walk, but being able to get right in the water from the jetty was awesome. The hosts were great and communicated easily and quickly. They even gave me snorkeling gear so I could snorkel around! 10/10 would recommend and if I come back to Antigua this is 100% where I would be staying!

Exceptional Spot to Recharge

For our vacation, we wanted a low-fuss bungalow in a natural setting, away from the commotion. That’s exactly what awaited us at this sweet little place. It’s tucked away in a manicured tropical garden with a very private, breathtaking view. We enjoyed every single sunrise and a quieter-than-usual bay. One of my favorite sights was the many white butterflies darting around the cacti each morning. Our hosts, Arno and Kristina, went above and beyond to point us towards the best of Antigua, providing us plenty of guidance and a local phone. We enjoyed access to their kayaks and snorkeling gear. A wonderful week-long experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone who likes to stay like a local on vacation.

Blue Pearl Getaway

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Blue Pearl. Arno was a gracious host and very unobtrusive. We are pretty laid back and self sufficient so tried not to bother him. He did check with us every couple of days to make sure we were okay and if we needed anything. Pretty much everything you need is at the house. We cooked most of our meals there and had no issues. Grilled twice on the outside charcoal grill. We also took advantage of the kayaks. We swam off the dock and drove all over the island enjoying the different beaches. We love to geocache and did as many as we could while there. This is a great place for people who do not like the resort vacation atmosphere. Loved having the attention of Joan of Arc the cat. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone not looking for a cookie cutter vacation stay.

Blue Pearl

We really enjoyed staying a Blue Pearl. The peace and tranquillity really did give us that back to nature feeling. Very well equipped kitchen (considering the limitations of space) and nicely decorated with examples of Kristina's nature-inspired artwork. Having unlimited use of the kayak was a great. feature as an angler and as cat lovers, the two cats were friendly but not intrusive. Kristina and Arno were great hosts and manage to strike the balance between being available, if needed, but respectful of our privacy, for most if our stay. Would we stay at Blue Pearl again? Most definitely
