Our family had a great time at this home. It had everything we needed. We loved how private it is and the close proximity to Boone. I would stay here again for sure.
Easily slept our 6 guests is a clean and well located location just minutes from ASU. Easy in and out and a great host!! Would definitely stay here again
Great home in convenient location to Kidd Brewer Stadium, grocery store and downtown Boone. This home's front porch is a hidden gem! A peaceful place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee.
Everything was exactly as described and we had plenty of room. We only had two issues. We had to get toilet paper and washcloths. I’m positive if I had called someone they would have fixed it. Kitchen was stocked and the beds were comfortable. We will rent this home again..
My family of six stayed for a long weekend in December as my daughter graduated from App. State. The house perfectly met our needs. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make a celebratory dinner, and the location was far enough from the busy roads to make it a relaxing and peaceful stay, but not so far away that it was an inconvenience. It rained much of the time we were there, so being able to utilize the garage was a great bonus. Overall, it was a great stay and, since our daughter is planning to stay in the Boone area, I’m sure we’ll be back.
The house was very clean and in a quiet location. Great location for any events at Appalachian State.
Homeowner was very responsive and made the stay an easy process.
We will definitely check into availability the next time we are in the area.
The accommodations were very adequate with a very nice back yard with small stream as well. Was able to have a very nice and relaxing bonfire by the stream which added to our good experience.
Myra’s listing was just what we needed. The house was exactly as listed. And, the creek behind the house was an added bonus. Our entire family, including three kids and three dogs, had a wonderful weekend! We would definitely stay here again.
Great location, very close to the center of Boone. Great mountain feel with creek in the back yard. Wished we could have had more time in the day to enjoy the outside. Very well equipped for your needs on vacation or a weekend get away.
Quiet property within minutes of ASU. Easy check in. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 big dogs. Howards creek runs behind house. Owner makes house very welcoming and accommodating.
We were four hot Floridians (3 adults and one child) who went to Boone to relax and cool off. The house helped us relax and the weather cooled us down. From our grandson playing in the creek in the backyard to swinging on the swing set in the side yard, watching a bunny and a turkey passing through the yard each day, to the mama and baby deer enjoying a cool drink from the creek, we found peace. The house is very comfortable, fully stocked, there were even toys for our grandson. The TV worked well as did all the appliances, including the very convenient washer and dryer. The oversized two car garage was very nice to pull into at the end of a busy day, or when unloading groceries. The beds were comfortable and the linens oh-so-soft. The neighborhood was incredibly quiet, even during the July 4th week. Myra is easy to contact with any questions or concerns. It’s so hard to book a spot without really seeing it, but we hit the jackpot this time! Thank you, Myra, for allowing us to enjoy your lovely home!
We stayed for a wedding at The Mill at Rock Creek. SO close! Only 1.5 miles away. Myra was great at communicating with us. The house had all the things we needed.it was warm and cozy. Most importantly (to my fly fishing husband) there was trout in Howard’s Creek out back. We will definitely visit again.
This house was exactly what we needed! We loved the privacy of the back yard and beautiful creek, all while being so close to town. We had a wonderful, comfortable stay, and certainly hope to return in the future.

Not for seniors
The stairs are difficult for older people to navigate. For us it was a one bedroom home.
We typically stay in a hotel when we visit our student at App, but decided to spread out, relax, bring the dogs and enjoy some "home-cooked" meals on this visit. We were very happy with our decision. The location and access to campus was very convenient. The house is clean, the kitchen well-stocked and the yard is fantastic with a creek and nice firepit for hanging out. Communication with Myra was easy and flexible. My only advice to visitors would be to pack an HDMI cable for connecting the computer to TV in the case you want to watch streaming services. We were able to hook up our student's Xbox from the dorm for this purpose (rainy weekend= lots of movies) and it worked perfectly. Highly recommend this rental.
We enjoyed our stay! The location was great to be close to our App student and also was very peaceful with the large yard and creek in the backyard. The fire pit was a nice addition.
Myra was a wonderful host and very responsive. This house had everything we needed!
Easy, quiet and relaxing. Myra was extremely accommodating and we had no issues during our stay. The property was spacious and secluded, but only a few minutes drive from town. Highly recommend!

About the host

ASU graduate in 1983. Moved into this nice home on a large flat lot with a mountain stream in the back yard in 1997. I have moved to Greensboro and only come up whenever I can to enjoy the cool summers, the beautiful leaves, holidays in the Mountains, and to take the grandchildren hiking and skiing.
Why they chose this property
This is a great central location to do all the great activities Boone and the surrounding area affords. Just a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, to Grandfather Mountain and the Highland Games, Tweetsie Railroad, local ski resorts, to ASU and many sporting activities, to the Greenway for walking, into Boone for shopping, etc.
What makes this property unique
Great front porch to start the day with coffee while listening to the birds.
