Gorgeous view!

We only stayed one night, but we were able to enjoy the surrounding beauty while soaking in the hot tub. The place was clean and check-in/check-out was super easy.

Excellent quiet location. Great value.

Our family of 4 stayed for two nights and used the property as a base location to explore the Cascades and surrounding rivers. The place was perfect. The house was quiet, comfortable, well stocked, on a beautiful property with an awesome view of Mt Baker.

Great views, great hot tub

We stayed in the lower level of the Guest House. While the property is older, it is a great value and the outdoor spaces with the hot tub & firepit table were a definite hit with the family.

Generous Do Over

This was our second attempt to stay at this Skagit a alley VRBO. Unfortunately the first attempt was cut short by an unexpected COVID diagnosis. We were told we could come again at a future date, which we just did. Thank you so much. The VRBO worked great for us. It was a wonderfully peaceful farm setting. Would stay here again for sure.

Beautiful Farm

The check in process was easy as pie. The place was clean and tidy, as advertised. Our 2 year old loved the toys and books. That was an unexpected pleasure, so thank you!!! My only suggestion would be to have a key available to lock the doors at night because toddlers can open the doors and walk out since the handle is only locked from the outside. An air freshener in the bathroom would be a nice addition as well. Overall, we slept fine for the 2 nights we were there. Thanks so much!!!

So relaxing!

We went to Mt Vernon to see the tulip fields, after all the chasing and taking pictures, we came to a beautiful, relaxing home. We're lucky the weather was so nice to see Mt. Baker as a backdrop while having dinner at the patio. Highly recommended! Thanks for letting us stay Jeff and Jessie.

Tulip festival 2021

We have two comments: 1. The house has two different levels. The bedrooms are at about six inch higher than living room. Some kind of marking such as a tape needs to be placed at the level change to avoid guest falling down. 2. We were not able to use tv. Tv user manual would have help.

Breathtaking Morning Sunrise and Mountain Views

We LOVED this beautiful guest house! We booked it to stay in after our visit to the annual tulip festival. When we arrived, the owner was there to greet us when we arrived, and made us feel very welcome. We woke up at 6am the following morning to capture the amazing sunrise - it was so beautiful! Such a beautiful home and property. We will definitely plan to stay again.

Great overall stay

When we arrived the host had a detailed sheet with all we needed to know about the stay (WiFi & where to find certain items) along with some complimentary shortcake biscuits : ) The stay itself was perfect; no complaints. The hot tub overlooks the mt.vernon freeway and it was quite the view. Highly recommend this stay.

Beautiful View

My 8-year-old daughter and I had a lovely night here. The place was clean and comfortable and had beautiful views of the mountains from the back yard & hot tub. The host was responsive and very easy to work with. It is not walkable to any shops/restaurants, but has several within a short drive. The upstairs neighbor was quiet, but we still heard them occasionally (walking, shower running, etc) as is often the case on a lower level. Overall, it was a lovely little escape!

Just right for a family get-together

Rural setting yet close to restaurants etc. Open kitchen with view of Mount Baker is great for dining with a group. Host responded promptly to my questions. Beds were comfortable. Well-furnished and decorated. Walked along the river and had some swans fly over. Would stay here again.

we had an excellent time there. Just need to keep in mind that it's a shared house so there may be noise from other occupants.

Rural relaxation!

Our family of four had a fabulous stay. Spacious downstairs 2-bedroom apartment with great perks (hello hot tub I'm looking at you! ...also great DVD collection + lots of books, good-sized kitchen, great well-maintained lawn for kids to run around on, very comfy bed, etc. ... even an upright piano! Fun!) Might be best in conjunction with a rental of the upstairs apartment as well (as a stay for a larger group), as the soundproofing between downstairs and upstairs is somewhat lacking, but when we were there, there were guests upstairs only one of our four nights so it didn't really bother us. The building itself was admittedly nothing particularly special, but the space had everything we needed to make ourselves very comfortable. We all quite enjoyed checking out all the tractor activity on the adjacent farm. Best of all, a view out over the fields to Mt. Baker right from the hot tub (if you're lucky enough to have cooperative Northwest weather)! Worked for us!

About the host

Hosted by Jeffrey Anderson

Host profile image
My wife Jessie and I were both raised in the Skagit Valley. We love the natural beauty of the area and are grateful to have so many family and friends that live nearby. We are honored for the opportunity to welcome new guests to our lovely Maplehurst Farm Guest House! We are happy to answer questions and serve as a guide to our valued clients.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the Maplehurst Farm Guest House in 2016 as an addition to our Maplehurst Farm venue, that we purchased in 2008, where we host special events. Our family resides in the historic mansion at our Maplehurst Farm venue property, and we have 6.25 acres total. We have 2 young daughters and a rescue pug named Ace and feel very lucky to work from home while raising them. We encourage you to stay at our Guest House and experience all that the majestic Skagit Valley has to offer visitors.

What makes this property unique

The Maplehurst Farm Guest House sits on 1.25 park-like acres, and features 3 large decks with stunning views of Mount Baker, the Skagit Valley hills and farmland, and the Skagit River Bank and trees. Eagles nest in the old growth cottonwood trees that line the riverbank, and we often see them sitting in their nests, trees and flying around the property. There are also owls, blue herron, snow geese, swans, and many other unique birds and animals that live in our neighborhood. The Skagit River dikes provide a lovely pathway for jogging, walking, biking and taking in views of the Skagit River and banks. We are just a few miles south of downtown Mount Vernon where there are many lovely shops, restaurants, and the Historic Lincoln Theater. We are just a few miles north of the town of Conway where there are several antique stores, pubs and farm stands. We are 1 hour north of Seattle, 35 minutes south of Bellingham, and 1 hour south of the Canadian border.
