Secluded, secure hideaway in Bayside Brighton

Secluded, peaceful, light, very cosy one bedroom granny flat detached and to the rear of main house. Modern and fresh decore, providing tea/coffee making facilities, wet area/kitchette, fridge, microwave, focaccia maker, jaffle maker, flat screen t.v. queen bed (very comfortable - don't have to tell you how important that is!) with en suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Private outdoor patio. Please note there is no stove, cooktop, dishwasher or washing machine
Five minute walk to Gardenvale train station, (Sandringham Line) eight stops (approx 20 minutes) to Flinders Street Station Melbourne city, Arts Center, theatres etc shopping etc.. Same train line also stops at Richmond Station(15 minutes) for short walk to AMMI, Melbourne Park, Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena, (for The Australian Open and all other major concert events)
Location also five minute stroll to Martin street coffee culture and variety of affordable restaurants, best bakery in Brighton, supermarket and many other shops. Explore beautiful bayside even further with a 15 minute stroll to Bay Street Brighton (or 2 minutes by train) to cinemas, cafes, restaurants great shopping and many other attractions. Train (3 minutes) or pleasant walk (25 minutes) to the famous Church street Brighton for more cinemas, shopping, supermarket, chemist, laundromat etc. Heaps of gorgeous restaurants and cafes. Beautiful walks along leafy wide, elegant streets to Bayside beaches and all this in the stunning, much sort after Melbourne suburb of Brighton.

Important Information, please read carefully and acknowledge you have read and understand on booking: in order to maintain the standard our returning guests have come to expect, we respectfully request no children, no parties, no pets, nor smoking is allowed either in or on the property. There is also a shoes off policy in the flat. This flat is beautifully appointed to accommodate a single person or a couple who are able to share one queen bed. Please contact me should you require clarification regarding any of the above requirements prior to booking. Parking: There is 2 hr parking during the day in Thomson Street (one house distance from us) and free parking at night after 6pm. Martin Street is strictly 1 hour parking, with free parking at night.
There is an option to park off street in our driveway, (provided the vehicle is not a truck or 4wheel drive - small sedans are best suited. If you choose this option there is a deposit of $80 cash for the remote control to the driveway gate, (this is the cost of replacing a remote should it be lost or damaged). This cash deposit is fully refundable on return of the remote control.

My mum stayed at Juliet's cottage. She was very pleased with the cleanliness, amenities and location. The chocolates, chips, etc were a nice touch.

Clean, comfortable, convenient

My partner and I stayed at Juliet’s in Brighton for 5 days and the place was even better than expected. Very clean, hospitable and comfy. The location is lovely, close to the train station and easy to get the SkyBus Peninsula to and from the airport (cheaper than Uber). Brighton is a beautiful suburb and I look forward to returning! Easy to get to the city, the beach, the airport. Juliet was welcoming and provided lots of recommendations for restaurants and transport. We also had our privacy. Shower pressure was great too. Lots of cafes around for coffee or breakfast. Highly recommend this accommodation if you’re staying in Melbourne! Juliet is a great host and we would happily stay here again :)

Delightful experience.

Juliet and Doug’s guest house is delightful. Beautifully clean with all high quality amenities; furniture, kitchenette, bathroom and linen. Very short walk to the train and shops. The garden surrounding the home is gorgeous. It makes the guesthouse completely private and quiet. All that can be heard in the morning are little bird chirps. We highly recommend this secure, secluded hideaway.

2 week stay in wonderful unit that just flew by

Myself and my wife had a 2 week stay in Juliet and Dougs unit in Gardenvale. It was probably the nicest holiday we ever had in Melbourne. The unit is so quiet and peaceful ,that a good nights sleep is guaranteed. Everything is laid on and Juliet and Doug are very helpful if you need anything. Its position so close to the bus and train stations makes for very easy commuting and the beach is only a short walk away. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful yet very accessible place to stay in Melbourne. We definitely will be back within the year for another lovely holiday. Mark and Geraldine

We really enjoyed our stay at Bayside Brighton hideaway. We were in Melbourne for a family funeral and most of our relatives live around the Gardenvale area so the accommodation was very convenient and close to transport & yummy coffee was just 5 mins away. We will certainly stay there again next time we are in Melbourne

Absolutely wonderful

What a lovely quiet and secluded hideaway. It was comfortable, extremely clean, modern and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Juliet was very welcoming and showed us through the bungalow on our arrival. The bungalow is tucked away in the back garden at the rear of the main house, and is very private and quiet. We only heard the birds singing in the morning. I would definitely stay here again and much preferred this bungalow to any motel we have stayed in when visiting the area. Thank you!

There is also a beautifully appointed yoga studio on the property should you wish to book a private session in any modality. Why they chose this property

This property has been voted as a 5 star stay and people often comment on how peaceful it is staying here, even though the shopping center and train/bus station are literally a few minutes walk! Bus to and from Monash university is one house away. By train, the City is 15 minutes. Martin Street is a lovely village shopping center with everything you could need. Plenty of eateries and coffee haven. Bay Street cinema and shops is also a very quick train ride or walk. The iconic Church street Brighton is a beautiful, picturesque 20 minutes stroll or a 3 minute train ride. Ask me about the best eateries:)

There is also the option of meditation and various mind/body/stretch/strengthen classes in a studio that is also on the property. I am a Certified Yoga and Gyrokinesis and Pilates instructor and I am also a Reiki Master. There is a beautifully appointed studio on the property should you wish to book a private session.
