Midgee Cottage - quiet romantic getaway

This self-contained studio is set in a large peaceful garden in a quiet area 3 kms from CBD with panoramic views of Mudgee and district. The host lives in the main house, known as Midgee Cottage. The studio is situated nearby with its own entrance. There are no steps, and the undercover car park is right next to the entrance.

Studio consists of 2 rooms:
- 1 Bedroom with Queen-size bed, a sitting/eating area and a well-equipped Kitchenette. The Host provides a generous Basket Breakfast and attends to the wash-up.
- Bathroom has a shower with easy access, toilet etc.

There is an outside area where one can have a cuppa or drink and take in the view.

Mudgee has many outstanding cellar doors, eating places and sporting facilities which hold many varied events-football matches, golf tournaments, marathons and race meetings. Mudgee is very picturesque with many great bike rides and walks. There are also the historic towns of Gulgong, Rylstone, Hill End and Sofala nearby.

Good for just a short stay
Clean , quiet place in Mudgee. Not much space though. I was hoping for a 1 bedroom cottage, however it is an extension of the main house from the garage. For the price available, I found it quite expensive.

Nice place but not luxury!
The apartment was way smaller than is depicted in the photos and the photo of the outside looks like the main house is a fair way from the apartment. The photo is actually of the property across the road. The hosts home is 10 metres away if that and there is no privacy if you are outdoors as the only area is under the carport out the front of the apartment and house.

Location,- great with view
We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Anne was kind to stock the pantry with fresh fruit, jam, muffin and cereal. Asked if we needed anything else and could get it for us. The place was quiet and we sat out on the patio. However, it can get very hot from the direction of the sun bearing down. The accommodation has AC and microwave and coffee/tea facility buy no cook stove and wifi. However, this did not affect us as much as it was a great get-away place to stay.

Lovely weekend in Mudgee
Midgee cottage is very quiet and welcoming. The breakfast provisions were very thoughtful and lasted our three night stay. It is compact but cosy. We are used to wifi and perhaps a larger TV, but the other aspects of the cottage made up for this.

Cosy getaway
It was clean, it was peaceful, had everything we needed for a short getaway in a comfortable compact space. We stayed midweek, and appreciated its quiet location a minutes drive into town. Anne was there to welcome us on our arrival. A gracious host who has added lots of little touches. We had a lovely stay.

Misleading listing - not a cottage, would not recommend
We were very disappointed with this property. We arrived and immediately booked somewhere else to stay (which we loved, a full cottage for a similar price in a better area) and left as we knew that staying here would ruin our weekend away. The listing is very misleading. It is a single very small room (plus small bathroom) inside the garage of a suburban house where the owner lives. There is no privacy as the garage is right up against the main house. The owner parks their car 2 metres from the room’s front door. It is not even remotely a cottage as advertised. The “kitchenette” is a fridge in a wardrobe. There is no sink or rubbish bin (other than in the bathroom). The room smells intensely of floral perfume which was sickening. I would not recommend this as a romantic getaway as advertised and it was a very expensive mistake to book here.

PERFECT!!
Small but perfect! Anne was lovely and everything that one might need is provided. Breakfast was included but as we had plans every morning we did not enjoy of the food provided. We would definitely highly recommend. Thank you again Anne for allowing us to stay at your beautiful place.

Beautiful cosy cottage in the heart of Mudgee
My partner and I had a lovely stay at Mudgee Cottage during our first trip to Mudgee thanks to Anne! The accommodation was very clean and tidy, with plenty of gorgeous homely touches - fresh flowers and fruit, a breakfast hamper with local goodies and a table to enjoy the view out the front of the cottage. Mudgee Stay
We were in Mudgee for a three night stay. The cottage perfectly fit our needs. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, not too far from the downtown. We enjoyed going to the area's wineries then returning to the cozy cottage. Anne was a very helpful and genial hostess.

Top little spot.
What a lovely place to stay so close to town centre. It made a great base to stay at. It was very clean and comfortable. We loved the beautiful views and were thankful for the yummy breakfast pack that was left for us. Definantly would stay here again.

Not a cottage
It is a smallish motel style studio attached to the host’s garage. Our car was parked in the carport next to the host’s car. The kitchenette was a cupboard with little bench space. The fruit and breakfast provided were very adequate. The unit was clean, but there was no proper provision for waste. We booked with Stayz, but did not get the whole property, as promised in your advertisements. We have used Stayz twice before and been very happy, but this property is disappointing and does not fit the mould.
