Casa Sunset the a great place to start your vacation. This beautiful open floor plan home accommodates 12 guests comfortably. The home has air conditioned all around and each room has a separate thermostat perfect for everyone's comfort. The home has wireless internet, smart Flat screen TV fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and the basic toiletries required:cable television, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facility, basic toiletries , heated jacuzzi for all year enjoyment. We can also have a private chef upon your request.

Going to Costa Rica means you are going to be surrounded by beautiful birds and butterflies which usually are the most active during mornings and afternoons.
At casa Sun Set you can usually hear the Howler Monkeys near by. Do not be surprised if you see one at your pool while grilling in the Terrace. The home comes with a new grill so you can prepare a quick meal while at the same time taking a dive into the 40,000 gallon swimming pool.

JW MARRIOTT HOTEL Hacienda Pinilla is home to the JW Marriott hotel, as a guest of Casa Sunset you have access to the numerous restaurants on offer. You can also purchase a day pass for use of the JW pool and amenities.

Some of the other things you want to definitely enjoy while visiting Hacienda Pinilla is the highly recognized 18- hole golf course miles of pristine beaches ,tennis courts, equestrian center, beautiful biking trails and tennis courts.

Within Hacienda Pinilla you can enjoy some fine dining as well, J,W Marriott has 3 different restaurants where you can enjoy a great atmosphere. Lola's bar is also a really fun place to visit located just a walk away on the beach.

Located about 10 minutes away you will find the beach town of Tamarindo which is one of the most popular beach towns of Costa Rica. There you will find a big variety of restaurants, bars and shops. This particular town is a perfect please to spend the day and take advantage of the surf lessons and ATV riding on the beach. Tamarindo is also well know for its night life which is perfect of everyone.

There are also many other beaches that you might want to visit while staying in Hacienda Pinilla. To mention a couple there is playa Conchal which is made up entirely of seashells, a very unique experience and a great place for snorkel Pirate Bay known for its come turquoise water and many more.

Casa Sun Set is a great place to spend while in Costa Rica, just seat back and watch the sun set from the pool.

Great Stay - Would Definitely Return

We had a wonderful time at this property. The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Lilliana was an excellent host—professional, attentive, and always quick to respond to any questions we had. She made sure everything was perfect for our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

So much potential, and yet…

Let me preface this review with the fact that the house is beautiful and the location is great. Unfortunately that fact was greatly overshadowed by the fact that the property’s stunning pool was completely unusable for the entire duration of our stay. (It was dirty to the point it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months) Despite several messages to both the property manager and owner about this, our concern's were minimized and the pool was never usable during our stay (we had a cleaning crew tell us it was “unsuitable”) As anyone who has seen the listing knows, the pool is the focal feature of the house and we had four kids who were sublimely disappointed that they couldn’t enjoy the pool. It forced us to change our plans and was a major let down. I’m yet to hear back from the owner despite several messages and emails….hoping they do the right thing.

Our extended family of 11 stayed at this home over the holiday and had an absolutely wonderful time. Clean, open space and the beds were very comfortable. Lilliana, the property manager, and her team were extremely responsive for anything we needed. Also very helpful with local transportation, excursion and private chef referrals. We loved the house, well equipped kitchen, and neighborhood. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The only suggestion would be to add a handrail for getting in and out of the pool and spa. Thanks for the memories, Casa Sunset!!!

A Wonderful Place

Stayed at Casa Sunset with 8 adults. The property manager was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool is incredible, as a group of late 20's adults, the slide had everyone feeling 13 again. Would be a great place for actual 13-year-olds as well. Roads getting in and out can be a bit bumpy so I would suggesst renting an SUV. Tamarindo was a quick 15-20 minute drive by SUV. Lola's and La Purruja were great and felt more local, also a great beach experience (we preferred La Purruja actually over Lola's). Great stay all around, you won't be disappointed.

Secluded Gem in Hacienda Pinilla

Had 7 adults and 2 toddlers and had plenty of space. Pictures do not do this place justice on the inside or out. Property manager and all the recommendations were phenomenal, any questions or issues were handled immediately. We were a little bummed the outdoor tv and one of the ac units were not working but we did appreciate the complimentary house keeping for one day. Lots of construction in the area but didn’t take away from our stay. We definitely would recommend this place and would stay again!

Fantastic stay at Casa Sunset

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Sunset. The property is beautiful and the location provided many activities for each of our family members. The house is well stocked with anything you could need. We enjoyed all of the extras like the ping pong table, pool table and the standout feature- the pool with the slide! So fun!!! The property manager Karen was helpful and quick to respond and we also got tips about where to eat and how to order groceries from Lilyana. Hacienda Pinilla is unique in that there is a beach club (my husband surfed there every day- great break and sets) with a beautiful pool and restaurant with good food. We also enjoyed horse back riding in Hacienda Pinilla- fun morning for me and my 2 daughters. We also hired Chef Jujo to cook for us a few times- he is a gem! Excellent food and so fun and lovely. Overall- we loved our time at Casa Sunset! Thank you for sharing your home!

Beautiful home and great experience!

Everything about this home was wonderful! The owner is very friendly and great with communication, making sure we had information ahead of and throughout our stay. Based on questions we had asked before arrival, she added things such as a lock box and ice maker which was so nice! She is very committed to making sure guests are comfortable and have everything needed. The local property manager was terrific and gave a helpful walk through of the house upon arrival, to review all of the many great features of the home. The home was very clean and comfortable for 8 people, including separate beds for the 4 kids. We made most of our dinners at home and the kitchen had everything needed. The terraza area has so much entertainment and is where we spent most of our home time swimming, playing, dining and relaxing. A couple of notes for future guests: Hacienda Pinilla is a large development, and this house is located within one of the individual neighborhoods inside the development. The houses are very spread out and private. The Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club is the main access to the beach. We didn’t spend much time there, but they have good food and a great view of sunsets from the beach area. It takes about 10 minutes to get there by golf cart, 5 minutes by car. We spent several days at Playa Avellana, which seemed to be the nicest swimming beach in the area, and Lola’s restaurant on Playa Avellana. It’s a perfect beach day and you can rent chairs in front of Lola’s, ask for David he is the best! Important to note, you’ll want to park at the Hacienda Beach Club and walk about 15 minutes down the beach to get to Lola’s, it’s a lovely walk. Driving to Lola’s by road takes much longer and is a long and bumpy dirt road. So the beach club access is valuable for this alone! Overall a perfect stay, thank you!

Beautiful Property

Overall, we loved our stay at Casa Sunset; a few points to be aware of: - 7 adults (three couples and a single) - location was great, about 1.5hr South of Liberia airport by rental car, and only about 20-30 minutes away from Tamarindo. Don’t need to be a great driver to drive yourself, it’s fairly low stress/easy - speed limit in most places is 60km/hr - 80km/hr, so not very fast and is why it takes longer to get places. - we HIGHLY recommend vehicle rental as the property is generally too far from things to rely on golf carts - they’d be too slow to get you where you need to go (Lola’s, Tam, grocery stores, etc., etc.). - On top of that, golf carts are $420USD per week, per car, which is way too expensive considering we rented a large 7 passenger SUV for under $1k USD for the week stay (includes fuel). - We rented vehicle online from Enterprise, who shuttles you from airport to rental place (~4 min drive), and then shuttles you back to airport on vehicle drop off. They open at 5am so wasn’t an issue with early morning flight time on the shuttle. It’s too far to walk and would be walking on busy highly. Process for vehicle rental worked out great, no issues, but was one of our stress points before arrival. Don’t need to worry, it’s easy. - the beach club was not an option for us as the property cancelled their annual subscription due to cost/benefit, which is fine, but was just not communicated properly to us before we attempted to get into the club. We ended up just going to the beach instead which is fine. - property itself is amazing, very modern, clean and tons to do. We spent a ton of time in the large pool, hot tub (not extremely hot but warmer than pool), and the cabana area with the bar, table for cards/games/eating, tv, and pool table. We bbq’d a lot - it worked well and was nice to know they had backup propane tank. - indoor kitchen is good and had most of what we needed such as pots and pans and utensils. - Costa Rica itself is beautiful and weather was a steady 32C-35C every day, no rain (Feb 3-10).It is an expensive country though (at least where we stayed) for almost everything: drinks and dining, groceries, and general goods(200ml bottle of sunscreen was nearly $30 which is insanity). - property manager had great communication,no issues - overall, if you are going to CR, would recommend the property to anyone - we loved it. Biggest tip though - rent a vehicle, skip the expensive golf carts, you won’t regret it.

Family Vacation

Our Group is very active and everyone Totally enjoyed our stay. The Condo is well stocked and spotless. The host Lillian was super helpful with setting up everything we needed and responded immediately. I recommend renting the Golf cart. We are planning a return trip next year.

Fabulous stay!

Very welcoming home, Karen the property manager and Maria where attending to every detail to make our stay a memorable and truly enjoyable experience. Communication was easy and they were responsive and available to help us and guide us in the area. The house is beautiful and well kept, super clean. Golf buggy is a must around the hacienda. Can’t wait to come back!

WONDERFUL!!!

We had a GREAT TIME at Casa Sunset!! We were there as two families with teenage kids and it was an amazing fit for us all! The "play space" is fantastic - between the water slide, pool table, foosball and shooting hoops the kids were active the entire time. We so appreciated the cleaning crew, access to beach club and continuous communication with the house manager! We hope to be back soon!!

Casa Sunset

Casa Sunset is a spacious, modern, and beautiful home. It is exactly as depicted in the photos/listing. There were many things we enjoyed about the house, but the pool area was definitely our favorite. The owner and property manager were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The home is tucked away in a private, gated community, approximately 5 minutes from the JW Marriott and Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club, and about 20 minutes to Tamarindo. Internet and cell service worked great.

Amazing home and Hacienda

The house is amazing, the open area is very big the rooms and beds are extremely comfortable. The good thing about the house is the moment you open your bedroom door you feel that you are on vacation as the entire home connects to the pool area which is by far one of the best feutures. We also enjoyed the beach club as well as playing golf (amazing course). The manager of the home was very friendly and available for any question we had. Will definitely be back soon :)
