Nestled in the heart of the spa capital of Australia, The Hive offers guests a superb country getaway.
Set on an acre of natural bushland just two minutes drive from the centre of Hepburn Springs, and surrounded by a beautiful bush landscape, there is no doubt you will forget the hustle and bustle of life here. Only 70 minutes easy drive from downtown Melbourne, everything you need is provided, so you just need to turn up and relax. The Hive has 8 bedrooms, separated into 4 ‘suites’ with two bedrooms with an ensuite in the middle (see floorplan for bed arrangements). There's plenty of room for 24 of you to spread out. In fact, we believe The Hive is the biggest shared living accommodation in the region. It's ideal for multiple families wanting to holiday together, family reunions, craft groups, yoga retreats, wedding guest accommodation, ladies weekends, small conferences/classes and much more.
The living area is extremely generous, with plenty of space to spread out. The lounge area includes a big-screen TV with 5.1 surround sound, with a HDMI input for laptop input. The dining tables can be reconfigured if you wish, and the TV in the dining area can also be set to view the laptop input. There are two light courts, which provide excellent alternate rumpus areas, each with a TV and one with a Wii console and the other an extensive collection of boardgames.
The living areas are heated by an automated hydronic heating system that distributes silent warmth, keeping the house at 20 degrees even on the coolest winter night - provided you keep the windows and doors closed! And then the wood fire is available for that magic ambiance or if you want a crank up the heat. A pile of firewood is provided. Each bedroom also has an electric panel heater to quickly and easily heat your bedroom. For the hotter times, there is evaporative air-conditioning throughout.
In addition to the indoor living areas, The Hive boasts an expansive deck area, with a commercial BBQ, plenty of outdoor furniture, a large in-deck trampoline and a wonderful outlook. Bring your own coffee machine though… if you can’t manage without your favourite brew.
We know that some things make a stay so much better when holidaying with a crowd. At The Hive, we're pleased to offer two dishwashers, two fridges, three ovens and metres of benchspace in the semi-commercial kitchen. There's heaps of cutlery and crockery, sharp knives that actually cut ! and plenty of quality appliances to make catering a breeze. The layout is also spacious and perfect for sharing meal preparation.
The property is commercially rated, so high safety standards have been applied to its design and construction. It has fire proof walls and doors to the bedrooms, a sprinkler system and a disabled suite (meeting with AS 1428.1). We believe this is one of only two fully compliant accommodation options in the region.
Smoking is strictly prohibited on the entire site.
Sorry, no pets - allergy friendly accommodation.
Not suitable for bachelor/hens parties nor schoolies, and whilst the setting may be lovely for a wedding, unless your guest list is 24 people or less, we cannot accommodate your special day sorry.
Guest information
We're not a fan of the way many properties advertise "from" a certain rate, but by the time you've added extra charges for additional guests/linen/bond, the price nearly doubles. Especially for large families, like our own.
For this reason, we've tried to keep the pricing inclusive and simple, and the availability and pricing calculated by the HomeAway website is always correct, but to summarise.....
Weekends & public holidays: $1750/night
Midweek $1250/night
This includes a 3pm check-in on the day of arrival, and 12pm check-out.
Early check-ins (ie 9am) and late check-outs (ie 7pm) are available for a half-day rate each.
There is a two night minimum charge (even if you want just 1 night), and public holiday weekends have either a 3 or 4 night minimum stay.
These prices include the full capacity of the house (up to 24 guests), and includes linen (sheets, bath and tea towels.)
Enterprise-grade Wifi equipement provides excellent internet coverage across the whole house, subject to a fair use policy.
There is car parking for plenty of cars, with easy access and no scarily-steep driveways to tackle.
We hope all of these features will add to the enjoyment of your stay.
What’s not included.
Concierge service – We have contingencies in place for a range of emergencies and are available on the phone for questions, but this is a house rental, so if a battery in a remote goes flat or there is a spider in the bathroom, you will have handle those yourself as you would at home.
Furniture removalist - When you leave, you will need to return everything (furniture, kitchenware) to where it was when you arrived, and leave the house tidy, removing all rubbish and recyclables to the bins outside.
Thanks.
