Took my mother there for her 90 birthday. Location is perfect and cabin has very nice touches that made the stay wonderful. Been coming to the area for many years and rate this one the best.
Wonderful place to stay. Karen is a super hostess. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch looking at the awesome view and river traffic. Cabin was very clean and the beds comfortable. If we are ever in the area in the futurr, we would definately want to stay again.
This property was excellent. The owners were nice, helpful, and responsive. The cabin and its furnishings were clean and modern. It’s location was close to my family who live in the area. I will definitely stay here in the future!
We have now celebrated two birthdays and our anniversary at this beautiful cabin, enjoying the breathtaking views.
The best hosts we’ve ever dealt with, the property is perfect and check-in and the stay simple and easy.
Loved the locations and quietness here. Daughter and I stayed there and just decompressed from our busy lives. We spent alotnof time in the hot in overlooking the river and absolutely loved the patio. Place was clean and had all the amenities you could possibly need. A bonus was plenty of firewood for the fire pit! Hosts were responsive and great
This property is nothing but amazing! From the view being absolutely wonderful to the cabin being stocked with everything we need. We will definitely be back
The eagle's nest is a lovely log cabin in a very peaceful spot with beautiful views. The property is very clean and well maintained. The check in and out process was simple and efficient. We brought food and enjoyed all our meals on the deck. The kitchen was more than adequate. My son loved getting to sleep up in the loft. The hot tub was perfect after a day of touring or hiking. Highly recommend and hope to return.
We had a group of 6 and had a wonderful stay at a beautiful cabin. It took us about 45 minutes to get to Churchill Downs and didn't have to deal with much traffic but we did leave by 9;30 AM. Unfortunately, we had no water the day of the Derby but no fault of the owners. I think there must have been a water main break.
We had a great stay at the Eagle's Nest. The pictures don't do justice to the deck and views of the Ohio River. Karen was a great host. She met us at the cabin to quickly explain some details and answer any questions. The cabin was very clean and great for our needs. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the barges go down and up the river. It was in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed here to explore the area and to attend the farm show in Louisville, which was around 45 min. from the cabin.
No problems at all. Beautiful cabin spot on a cliff overlooking the Ohio River. Spent all three mornings on the porch, driving coffee and listening to the wide range of local birds ---woodpeckers, orioles, mockingbirds, warblers, and cardinals. So relaxing. Hot tub and firepit were also used most nights---very fun! When we needed more firewood or coffee, Karen was attentive and brought some right over. Thanks!

Property is great !
My wife and I enjoyed our time here. If you need tech like WiFi or satelle or cable you won’t have it. But we didn’t need it the tv gets plenty of stations and the cell service for us was great so we just used our phone to look up things. The hot tub is one of the best we have ever had at a rental. The views from the deck are so relaxing at anytime of the day. We came for a weekend getaway and for a short 5 hour drive it’s was like a whole other world compared to our normal lives in Illinois. We took the short ride to Louisville which was great. The owners are great with their response time and with any info you may need. If your looking for a place for a getaway I highly recommend this cabin !
I am afraid to post this review, worried we may never get to book here again if it gets too busy.
We needed a quiet, peaceful, romantic weekend away and we found it.
If that is what you want consider coming here to unplug for a few days. Nice modern, new cabins with... no internet, no satellite TV, and spotty cellphone service. Maybe not for everyone, but just what we needed.
The view is fantastic. Nestled high on the bank of the Ohio River looking east into Kentucky. I had no idea Indiana had anything like this view.
The hot tub is also a big plus. I got to watch an amazing sunrise one morning while enjoying it.
The location puts you 30 minutes to an hour from lots of great stuff to do as well. Caving, hiking, exploring, shopping, eating... plenty to do if you want to get out for a bit.
The host was great and super friendly. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Note: there are no laundry facilities either, so keep that in mind for your planning and packing.
Absolutely perfect week. The cabin was beautiful on the inside and we had everything we needed. And the view was even better in person than in pictures. There were some houses nearby but you really don’t notice them and it’s really quiet, they also have a privacy fence for the hot tub so it seems even more separated from the world.
The kitchen has enough pots and pans for cooking meals at the cabin, and there is a good amount of storage for food items. There’s a dollar general down the road for simple things you may have forgotten.
Karen was super helpful and responsive. She provides not only complimentary firewood but also a storage tub of fire starting materials and brings more as needed.
There are a couple restaurants if you’re feeling lazy and don’t won’t to cook but they’re small town restaurants and close early, except for the dock on the river but it gets CROWDED on the weekends.
Overall had an amazing week, my girlfriend and I wanted to take another week off work.
Very nice cabin! It is even better than expected! Great view, very pretty cabin with all the details! 3 bedrooms all with their own bathroom. Great deck!
My wife and I have a very relaxing time. Very peaceful location with a great view. The owners were extremely helpful and the place was spotless. We look forward to returning.
The cabin was wonderful. Very clean. Lots of extra things provided. Although there are some homes around it feels very secluded and isolated. It’s a very beautiful cabin and the view is wonderful. We enjoyed watching the boats on the river. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. We would all stay here again. Karen, the owner, was wonderful and very easy to communicate with. We all highly recommend staying here.
Cute little place with a great view! We were able to spend our time resting and talking. We came prepared to fix food since our group had food sensitivities and limited restaurants in the area which could meet those needs. Definitely would stay there again. Owner responded quickly to questions.
Cabin was very clean with a great view. Not a bad drive to Corydon for shopping. The host was very nice. Weather was too hot for us to enjoy the hot tub. Beds were a little too hard for our comfort. The five of us are all big coffee drinkers and we all brought coffee. The cabin however had a Keurig and not a coffee maker. The hosts did supply some K-cups but we had to make a trip to the nearby Dollar General for more. All in all it was a great girls weekend.
