About this property

AMAZING LOCATION - in the heart of Old Québec!

Bright and beautifully renovated condo in the heart of Old Québec. Amazing location! Steps from rue St-Jean where you can find a variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Although it is in the middle of the action, it is ever so slightly removed from the main street that you will enjoy restful nights. Visit the best tourist sites like Château Frontenac, Petit Champlain, Old Port, etc., all within walking distance in less than 15 minutes. Less than 10 minutes walk from Gare du Palais (main train station).

For breakfast, you are literally 1 minute away from the best French bakery in town (Paillard), where you can buy yummy baked goods and pastries (think fresh baguettes and chocolate croissants!). For lunch, you can try a famous poutine right next door, for a true Québec experience. For dinner, there is a myriad of excellent restaurant choices as well.

The condo is spacious with close to 1000 sqft (100 square meters) of living space. It has two bedrooms, i.e. a master bedroom with a queen bed, and a second bedroom with bunk beds (one lower double and an upper single). The bathroom is roomy and modern with a standalone bathtub, a large glass-enclosed shower (with both a regular shower head and a rainshower to suit all tastes!), and stacked washer and dryer. The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and everything you would need to prepare delicious meals. There is a small balcony off the master bedroom which overlooks the courtyard, with a small table and chairs; the ideal place for a glass of wine just before dinner. The condo has a big-screen TV with a large selection of English and French channels, as well as Wi-Fi. In the summer months, you will appreciate the airconditioning, but if you prefer, you can choose to open the windows and feel the breeze and the life of the Old Town. There is a parking spot in the courtyard that can accommodate a small or medium-sized car, which can be used during the months when there is little or no snow, which is generally from April/May through November/December (as the courtyard is not cleared of snow). Otherwise, there are two indoor public parking lots within a few minutes walk.

In summary, this condo is the perfect choice for your magical stay in beautiful Old Québec! Book it, you won't regret it!

Magnifique condo rénové au coeur du Vieux-Québec. Emplacement imbattable!

Great apartment in a great location

Spacious, comfortable and cozy apartment in the heart of old Quebec. The place is clean, well maintained, well equipped and nicely decorated. The building is centrally located, within walking distance to many shops, attractions, parks and more. The hostess Josée Piché was helpful, responsive and attentive. It was nice meeting Josée in person. She made sure we felt comfortable and secured. Quebec city is in our hearts, so we definitely will return here. We loved our stay, had a wonderful time and highly recommend this apartment.

Location, location, where the action is in the old walled city just a few steps from Rue St. Jean!

Four of us stayed for the month of September 2017 at Josee's beautiful condo. Everything was as advertised on VRBO and Josee provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay (even having her representative greet and surprise us with a welcome card and bottle of delicious wine to toast our first night). The condo was well equipped to get us started on our stay. The few minor issues that presented themselves over the course of our stay were quickly addressed and corrected by the property manager, Diane. You can't go wrong with this selection and we would highly recommend this condo and stay again in the future!

A Perfect Apartment

What a great place! Beautifully decorated. Comfortable. Clean. All the plates, silverware and cups match. Pots and pans that might be better than I have at home. Totally furnished---I needed to buy nothing during our one month stay. Great kitchen. Huge bathroom with a shower that was amazing. Host was super communicative---we only needed to coordinate about replacing a smoke alarm that failed during out stay. Five stars at least.

Remarkable place in Haute-Ville

Josee's condo in Haute-Ville, Quebec City is indeed a gem, as suggested by the other reviews. There's an elegance that feels both cozy and spacious at the same time. Architecturally interesting and artistic in the furnishings, a sense of wintry-ness married with a warmth that is special. Virtually everything one might want for cooking, eating, and small entertaining is there. It's like they thought, "Were I living here, what would I need to start my life?" and yet it is not lived in and doesn't feel that way. The location is surprisingly wonderful in that it is about 100 feet from a busy tourist area but it feels delightful regardless, not overwhelming. A walk to Rue St-Jean yields pedestrian only cobblestone streets with bars and cafes with outdoor seating, free music at various places and street music on weekends. Inside the walled city, walking is fun, interesting in this beautiful, historic town and very doable for people with mild to moderate walking ability although anyone with a mobility issue would have to consider alternatives like taxis/ubers. Josee is remarkable in terms of her responsiveness, thoughtfulness and attention to detail, one of the best hosts I've experienced. The second bedroom was manageable for us, a group of only adults but is best for families with small children, as the bunkbed makes sitting up in bed difficult and there's a slight possibility of bumping one's head. Despite that, I couldn't give this condo anything less than top praise

Disappointing: the smell from the restaurant below impacted our stay at this condo

The apartment is clean, spacious & equipped but unfortunately it's also above a restaurant (Paris Tacos) which has serious problems with ventilation which makes the apartment smell like a “deep fryer” a lot of the time. The bedrooms weren't as much of a problem, but the bathroom and living/dining/kitchen would occasionally be so bad it would make our eyes burn.. until the restaurant closed at 11pm. The owners were very responsive when we told them about the problem, suggested that we buy an air purifier (which we did and returned after it didn't help make any difference: the smell would somehow come through the bathroom/kitchen vents or other vents...). I trust the owners will address this issue, as also other apartments in the building were complaining about the same problem. Overall the location is great — in the old town, and an easy walk to the lower town, the train station, chateaux Frontenac, boulangeries, and a small grocery store. Location 5/5. Cleanliness 5/5. Smell 1/5.

A great condo in Old Quebec

This is a beautiful condo; clean, comfortable, convenient, really nicely decorated, and fully equipped with just about everything you need and more. It is one floor above street level, over a yummy and creative Sushi Shop, in a building without an elevator, so there are about 20 steps to climb. It’s in a vibrant neighborhood, with Old Quebec’s charming streets just around the corner. We were here for the month of August, and Quebec City was bursting with activity, and many, many free performances. We went to a free circus performance next to Le Grande Marché, free outdoor concerts just up the street, free firework displays with live music shows twice a week, and there are street performers all over the place. We also enjoyed the annual 3-day Nouvelle France celebration, with costumed characters, activities and performances honoring Quebec’s history. We rented bikes and rode eight miles to Montmorency Falls along a really beautiful (and flat) bike path, and my husband zip-lined across the waterfall! We took French classes at the École Québec Monde, and we splurged on an indulgent gastronomic experience at La Tanière3. Our farewell dinner at Le Saint-Amour was fantastic. The supermarkets were about a ten minute walk away. There was a small Intermarché, about a ten minute walk up rue St. Jean and a really big supermarket, Metro Plus, down the very steep hill, also about a ten minute walk, but without a car it was a quite a schlep lugging bags of groceries up that hill! A good workout though! The air conditioning in the living room was very good; there is no air conditioning in the two bedrooms, but even during a heat wave in August it was mostly fine. The parking space in the back was very helpful to have when we had visitors, but only accessible with a narrow car as the entranceway to the parking is extremely narrow. Both the owner, Josée, and the local property manager, Steven, were accommodating, helpful and kind. We had an absolutely wonderful month in this beautiful condo in charming Old Quebec and we are looking forward to returning.

Jewel Box Apartment, Super-Central Location

This is without doubt one of the best properties I have ever rented. The apartment is centrally located and was just minutes away from the main attractions of the city. The apartment is surprisingly quiet, considering its central location and I was never disturbed by noise while sleeping. (The bedrooms are on the rear court.) The interior is comfortable, being open and well-furnished and decorated. I thought that the interior of the apartment was just as the photos on the website showed it to be. The kitchen is very easy to cook in and was very well supplied with good quality appliances and cookware. The bathroom is large and well laid out and the beautiful walk-in shower was a pleasure to use. The master bedroom was plenty large with an ample closet and the bed was comfortable. I did not use the other bedroom, but the beds appear to be of good quality. Even better than this superb apartment were the stellar communication skills of the owner. She responded very quickly to my questions throughout the process and she made everything very clear. She was always helpful and friendly and she writes as well in English as she does in French. It was her excellent communication that made me feel completely comfortable renting the apartment in the first place and was always there if I had questions during my stay. She is a person of very high integrity and I feel that I can trust her at least as much and probably more than anyone else I have ever known only through email or web communication. All in all, I felt very lucky to be able to rent this apartment for my stay in Quebec City.

Best location and condo in the heart of Old Quebec

We stayed at Josee's condo the month of July 2019. The condo was absolutely beautiful. It was well furnished, nicely decorated, clean, roomy, everything a person would need was supplied. Great location, steps away from Saint Jean street, restaurants, bars, boutiques. Walking distance to anywhere in Old Quebec. We were greeted by Steven upon our arrival. He was very pleasant and informative. Josee left us a bottle of wine and a welcome note which was very appreciative. The parking was a plus. We also enjoyed the balcony every morning for breakfast and many dinners. We would definitely stay again on our next trip to Quebec City. We highly recommend this property. Thank you, Josee. Record snow fall, this condo, the best cozy shelter

Being fortunate enough to spend the winter in Quebec, we found ourselves at home in Old Quecbec (inside the wall). This 2 bedroom 1 bath condo is comfortably cozy. The floor plan gives a "greatroom" feel in a gracious space. The bedrooms are situated well. We had adult family members and close friends as weekend guests, they had the ability to have their own space and access to the common area without being uncomfortably close. The beds are very comfortable and there is a good assortment of pillows. We had plenty of room to store our luggage and layers of winter gear, we settled in. With the help of the large dinning room table we created a home office/dining room, the large coffee table help us have a jigsaw puzzle/living room. The kitchen has full-size appliances and plenty of cupboard space for personal cooking supplies (why would you cook with great food restaurants only feet away) the local walkable markets have fresh food stuffs found in Europe as wells as the US so if you enjoy cooking you will spend sometime in this well appointed kitchen. The washer and dryer are of good quality, function well, and hide easily from view. The only disappointing aspect of the condo is the 40 gallon hot water tank will not fill the huge soaking tub. Location, Location, location- if you want to experience "Old World" urban living and it's architecture you are steps away from everything that people seek when heading to Quebec. We were right across the street from one of North Americas first Hospitals and the Le Monastère des Augustines (living history). The meals and events at the Monastery are phenomenal and so close. Rue St. Jean is 30 seconds away, just a few doors from Maison Smith Cafe where the best coffee and croissants can be found.

spent a great month in Quebec. Thanks

The property was everything that you said it would be. If we had a question that was answered immediately. We were close to everything almost within walking distance. We were very grateful that you did have a parking spot in your courtyard. I think it would’ve been very hard to find a parking place because the city was so busy. The condo contained everything that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. We would recommend that anyone stay in your condo it was lovely

Merci Beaucoup!

Amazing place in Old Quebec

What an amazing time I had in Quebec City and in this condo! It is superbly located, within walking distance of Petit Champlain neighbourhood (my favorite!), Chateau Frontenac, the Plains of Abraham, and some many other sites. You're right in the middle of the action, close to many restaurants, including my favorite bakery, just around the corner, where we had breakfast and lunch on more than one occasion. The people of Quebec are so friendly and I felt very safe at all times, even when we walked around late at night. The condo is beautiful, clean and bright and has everything you need for a perfect stay. Don't hesitate to book it, you can't go wrong.
