About this property

Delight on Douglas - plenty of room for 3 families

Consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, 1 with a double bed and the 4th bedroom (formally a sun room) having 6 single beds so the property will comfortably sleep 12 guests.

With a fully equipped modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and electric cooking making meal time easy to cook up a storm for the family. There is access to the covered patio where you can enjoy a bbq outside in the summer sunshine and watch the kids play in the fenced yard.

For your comfort there is split system heating and cooling in the loungeroom with additional heaters within the property and each bedroom has a pedestal fan to help keep you cool.

The main bedroom has an ensuite. There is also a walk in shower in the combined main bathroom/laundry which is perfect for those that have trouble stepping into a shower.

There is secure parking behind gates for 2 cars or a car and a boat.

Great that all 10 of us were under the same roof plenty of seating in lounge and kitchen table kids enjoyed the outdoor space playing cricket and riding bikes

Review of Delight at Douglas, COWES stay (28 - 31 Oct 2023)

Generally, the stay was satisfactory. We are pleasantly pleased with the number of beds for our family stay. The location is conveniently located near central with shops around. However, the place is not really handicapped friendly. It would be better if it is equipped with dryer and bed linen as we are overseas travellers with limited luggage space. Thus this place would be more suitable for local travellers. Last but not least, the communication via emails while we are in Australia was not convenient due to our limited overseas data plan and we can’t check emails all the time while travelling around. Communication via direct phone call during emergencies (eg key lost incident) would be preferred.

So old and dirty!

Our stay at this property was very disappointing! The house was very old inside. The carpet in the loungeroom and bedrooms smelled disgusting and mouldy! We couldn't even sit down in the lounge room to watch a movie on one of the rainy nights because of the smell of the carpet! There were spider webs in every corner of every room from ground to ceiling - it was absolutely awful! My family and I actually had to clean the place for our 10 day stay and just could not believe that someone had supposedly cleaned the house only a week ago after other guests had left. The kitchen pantry had food left over where most stated an expiry date of 2021. The freezer was half full of frozen food. The washing machine absolutely reeked and was mouldy and there was no clothes line provided anyway. One key was provided which was very inconvenient. The furniture at the property was also very disappointing. It was all very old, smelly and covered in dust. The couches in the lounge room were the worst of them all. You could not sit on them because of the smell let alone walk paast them! It was horrible!! I do not recommend this place one bit. In fact I regret staying there and paying to stay there. The convenience of being one street away from the shops street of Cowes was not worth the stay!

Quick family holiday

Old house with some renovations to make it feel neat and clean. Close to shops and can walk to the beach. Lots of room for three families. However, there is no backyard as it’s a divided block. Overall very happy. Thank you

O'Brien did not communicate with me for the key pick up. I made contact the day before & on the day of arrival as I had still not received anything. Once contact was made it was smooth sailing. Would definately stay again.

Great for friends and family!

Our group of 12 (3 families - 2 adults, 2 kids each) had a wonderful time. Clean property with an excellent location. We easily walked to and from the beach with kids aged 3-7. Can’t wait to come back

Disappointed

The booking, check in and out and communication were all excellent. Unfortunately the property was dated and not very clean, filthy windows, some impossible to open and rubbish left in the bins outside the kitchen /diner by previous tenents, lead to us waking up to maggots all over the floor. It really set the tone🥺. The property was big enough for 3 families as stated, but 2 of the 3 largest beds had terrible mattress, not suitable for 2 adults. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. The bbq was filthy and gas bottle empty, we didn't use it. It was definitely poor value. We would not stay there again.
