We enjoyed our stay. The condo was very close to the beach. The owner was very cooperative and responded to our inquiries in an efficient and timely manner.
We had a wonderful time at the townhouse. It’s decorated nicely and very comfortable! The cathedral ceilings make the upstairs feel very spacious. We loved having the bedrooms at ground level for ease of bringing in suitcases, etc. The little storage room with an outdoor shower is a very handy place for the beach equipment. The beach was very clean and quite large and not as crowded as the larger resorts. We hope to visit again.
Our family loved the stay in Lewes, De. We were looking for a more relaxing vacation than the Jersey beaches and got it here. The short walk to the private beach was a huge plus. The house, the view, the local restaurants and Cape Henlopen State Park were great. We would stay here again!
Beautiful property and a great location, very convenient to multiple beaches. Very easy check-in and responsive property owner. Fabulous vacation, we would love to visit again. Highly recommend!
We had a great time in Lewes. The house was clean, and had everything that we needed. The location was great, a quick walk to the beach area, and only a short drive to stores/shopping. When I had questions Nancy was quick to respond. Great place to stay.
The development is next to Lewes Ferry, on the bay, walk through the parking lot to the beach. There is a lot of beach gear available. The property is clean and convenient - near Cape Henlopen and bike trails. We enjoyed staying here.
Nice location, perfect for families with smaller kids
The location is nice, 5 min by car and 0
10 min bike ride to the downtown area. All amenities worked well and the space is very well kept. We would definitely consider coming back.
We loved our stay! The unit was perfect for our family of 5. It was so great to be able to walk out the front door and be on the beach. My kids loved watching the ferry come and go. We’ll definitely be back!
Well appointed two level condo with easy access to Cape Henlopen State Park. close to the Ferry to Cape May. The unit was very clean and neat. We had an enjoyable visit and would certainly stay here again.
Nancy's property was perfect for our family for a week at the beach! The house was clean and comfortable. The house is located right across the parking lot from the beach access, and the water is visible from the living room and deck. The house was located perfectly for convenience and ease of access to and from the beach with our 2 year old and 8 month old daughters. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, utensils, and cooking tools. All of the bedrooms are located downstairs, which may not be ideal for some but was perfectly fine for us. The storage area outside has an outdoor shower with hot water, and was a great area to store our beach stuff where it wouldn't get rained on. Very convenient to Cape Henlopen State Park and downtown Lewes. Nancy was very responsive when we had questions or anything to discuss with her. A great place for a week at the beach and a great host!
This property was just right for our family. We really enjoyed that there were not a lot of knick knacks to keep safe from our toddlers! The kitchen was a great size and very functional and had everything we needed. This rental also had some beach chairs, a beach cart and some floats that surprised us. We had brought our own but my son thought the floats were a great bonus!
At check-in the house had not been cleaned. We emailed the owner and the property manager promptly arrived to give a quick vacuum and wipe down. It wasn't ideal but it was resolved promptly.
A few things to note if you're planning to travel with toddlers: The stairs are open on the back (no risers behind each step). Our kiddos did fine with this with supervision and we put a gate to block the top of the stairs. I wish I'd had one more gate because two would have let me block the kitchen off. The stove top controls were on the front of the range (unlike at home) and my two-year old was fascinated with them.
All in all, a great trip. A short walk to the beach each day and plenty to do in lovely Lewes!
Nice location with private beach near the ferry terminal. The location within the beachfront community is among the second row from the beach, with a small view of the ocean between sets of homes. Having all of the bedrooms on the lower of the two levels was unusual but not a bad thing except for the fact that every little noise upstairs from the early risers makes a racket for the late risers. The upstairs living area is spacious for everyone to hang out and we liked having plenty of surface areas and tables to eat and play puzzles, etc. The galley style kitchen was a bit cramped for multiple people to work in. My only serious complaint was some cleanliness issues in the en suite bathroom - there was a lot of mold along where the shower floor and door meet and it was slick to the touch around the floor edges, which made me think it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. I didn't see the other bathrooms, but I didn't note any other cleanliness issues. Some other things that would make the jome more appealing: correct size coffee filters for the coffee maker; a blender; blinds for the bedroom windows instead of just sheer curtains (and vice versa for the master bedroom); games and toys for children; linens being included is always appreciated; perhaps a kayak or two for an even bigger bonus. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but some of the little things were lacking compared to other similar stays.
Due to a VRBO error, our property was double-booked for our first day. Staying in a hotel was NOT what we had hoped to do, as my mom, though vaccinated, is a high risk 90-year old. That was the solution offered by VRBO. Our incredible host worked a minor miracle, found us a cottage in which we could stay for that night - quite comfortable and so close to the beach. When we were able to get into this property the next day, we found it to be incredibly clean, well appointed, and exactly as advertised. It could have been a pretty rough start to my mom’s birthday trip, but thanks to this host, her kindness, and her lovely property, we had a great time.
