This beautiful timber home is located in a quiet area of Blackheath.

Blue Gum consists of 3 good size bedrooms, a well presented living room, a great kitchen with a dining room, and also contains a wood fire heater to keep you warm on those cold winter nights.
The bathroom has a shower and a bath as well as a separate toilet.

The back deck looks over the nice size backyard where you can relax and watch your children play.

Should you wish to relax before bed you can sip a champagne or wine on the back deck and watch the sun go down.

During the day you can take a stroll through Blackheath village, browse through the antique and gift shops or indulge in a pastry and coffee at one of Blackheaths many fine cafes or around winning restaurants.

Blue Gum is a perfect place to make your base and explore the wonderful Blue Mountains.
Within an easy drive to bush walks, lookouts, canyoning, and abseiling and much more, it is only a 10 min drive to Katoomba (The three sisters, echo point, skyway and the scenic railway), 40 min drive to Jenolan Caves and Zigzag Railway and a 30 min drive to Megalong Valley where you can enjoy horse riding.

Cosy Mountain House

My friends and I loved our stay here, the property is great. It was beautiful and cosy once we got the fire going, just what we needed for a relaxed weekend away

Quiet, cosy cottage

We all enjoyed our stay. Great fireplace and well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and good deck for catching the winter sun. Great location for exploring the western side of the mountains.

We had a great stay at Bluegum cottage. It was spacious, well equiped and had a really lovely feel to it. I'd recommend it to friends and would definitely stay there again.

Great dog-friendly cottage

Great dog-friendly cottage close to good walks and centre of town. Owners as usual were very accommodating. Lots of wood for heater, and extra heater available, if needed, so cottage is beautifully warm on a winter's day.

Lovely retreat

Property location was great being not far from walks and Blackheath centre. Lots to do. Property was very clean and comfortable with everything required for a peaceful stay.

Great weekend escape

A cosy and comfortable stay. Well equipped, quiet location and a lovey slow combustion fire. Unfortunately no firewood on arrival as promised, but Alison was quick to respond and rectify. Perfect for our family of 6. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Short getaway

Pleasant property. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Added bonus is that it was pet friendly so our dog came away with us too. Fence required a bit of a patch up so that we could leave our dog in the yard but was a minor detail. This was a very enjoyable place to stay.

Cozy base for adventures

It's like the Tardis - looks small from the outside but inside is really spacious. Very cosy living room and separate kitchen. Kids bedrooms down the hall way. Basic amenities but absolutely adequate (would have been nice to have a loo roll, even though we get it's self catering!). Blackheath is a great spot - lots of good food and it's close to beautiful hikes. We had a lovely time! We had a lovely time.

Cute Cottage

We enjoyed our family getaway at Blackheath in a quiet leafy residential area. Blue Gum is well equipped with a cozy fire which we enjoyed. Our Labrador had plenty of room in the large backyard but the fence wasn’t secure. Blue Gum is a lovely base for discovering the beautiful Blue Mountains.

Beautiful spot to paws

Absolutely loved this stop only negative being it were only for a night. The sunset over the mountains was breathtaking and the silence of the surrounds simply irresistible after a long day on the road. Our old German Shepherd slept the night away in the warmth of the place and had a lovely enclosed courtyard to stretch his legs, this for us made everything perfect. Was clean, beds were comfortable and the complimentary bottled water was much appreciated. Thank you Alison for the lovely stop, can’t fault it.

Lovely Weekend - Cosy, Clean, Well Presented House

We loved our weekend stay at Blue Gum in Blackheath. We were unsure what to expect when it comes to pet friendly places - but it was so clean and well presented. Our two pooches loved the mountains and we had two full days of walking tracks so they were happy to enjoy the backyard when back. The backyard is great for dogs and enclosed well and we had no problems at all. The house is situated in a quiet leafy street which is a nice change when getting out of the busy city.The beds were extremely comfortable for a family of 5 and the house itself was the perfect size to have some adult time while the kids played in the evenings..The fireplace was an added bonus but the house was warm enough just with the heating on if you don't like the open fireplace thing. Thank you for sharing Blue Gum with our family we can't wait to return!

Short break at Blackheath

We rented Bluegum for 5 nights with our small dog. The cottage is clean and tidy inside, albeit quite dated, but had been freshly painted inside. The bed was comfortable (there is a queen in one room, twin beds in another, and a single day bed in the third), there are oil heaters in all the bedrooms, an electric blanket on the queen bed (not sure about the others), and linen and towels were provided. There is a wood heater in the lounge, and there was plenty of firewood in the shed (but best to check this with the property manager at the real estate agency before you visit), and a good hot shower. There was free WiFi, lots of DVD's, and a large TV. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, but no dishwasher, and the circuit breakers blew if we had the kettle and toaster on at the same time. Outside did need attention, as the back yard was pretty overgrown, and unfortunately not secure, with fence palings missing or falling off. This meant we had to keep our dog on lead whenever we took him out, and couldn't leave him outside in the yard.

Cosy, well equipped little house

My family had a great time staying here. The fire and heaters were great and we were very cosy on a cold winters weekend. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of games/dvds. The house is dated but that suited us perfectly as nothing was too precious and we could relax having our kids and dog there. Loved our stay- we hope to come back next year

Blackheath cottage

Rented at short notice, Alison was great to deal with. Only constructive criticism is the shower...worst water pressure ever and dangerous for the kids as hot water was extremely hard to regulate, definitely needs an upgrade. House has all amenities and kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay

Well equipped clean kitchen, wifi, comfortable beds and plenty of room. Appreciated the heaters during this cold new year's eve. Couldn't close the side gate, found the back door really difficult to close. Lovely quiet neighborhood to enjoy.

Cosy and comfortable cottage and an amazing mini vacation.

Had a wonderful stay. The cottage is located in a nice quiet street, close to bushwalks and the Blackheath town centre. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The back yard was perfect for our two small dogs who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the back deck was great for having a BBQ. We really enjoyed our time there and we will definitely be back. 🙂
