We had a fun farm experience (horses, a gorgeous turkey, roosters and hens) in the beautiful hills of Virginia. Be prepared for the other farm realities (mud, ants, flies, and farm smells). Of course, my dog LOVED all those smells. Even my bird had a good time watching the horses frolick in the pasture right outside the window. The cottage had most of the basic amenities, but the furniture and decor could use an upgrade. Close to good food, wineries and historic towns. Prepare to be welcomed by 2 Australian Shepherds and a gracious host.
My husband and I wanted to stay in a cool property for a weekend trip for our anniversary, and this was just awesome! Being in the main living room was so relaxing and just fun to imagine the history of this blacksmith forge! The king sized bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept on in a rental house, so that was very much appreciated! The whole vibe of the house showed how the owners care for it and how they care for the guest experience. We took a morning to visit Harpers Ferry, which was only 20 mins and a great way to spend the morning! The farm was lovely to walk around, we saw chickens, a rooster, a turkey, horses, and very friendly pups. Thanks so much, we had a great weekend!
