About this property

This lovely home is a wonderful gathering place for a large family or group of friends. Located a short 10 minute walk from the beach. This home is located a short 10 minute walk from the beach and has a large private dock that backs up to an 11-mile lagoon system. Perfect for fishing, watching the wildlife or enjoying the Lowcountry weather. The home is surrounded by several mature live oak trees - providing the ideal amount of shade and privacy.

Outside, the large pool and deck area are a great spot for entertaining a crowd. Providing ample seating with chairs and loungers around the pool and Adirondack chairs by the dock. Once inside, you'll enjoy the open floor plan with soaring ceilings and large windows letting in the natural light and dining room with seating for eight. The kitchen is fully equipped featuring a breakfast bar for two and kitchen table with seating for six.

All three bedrooms are located on the main floor. The primary bedroom features a king and private bath that includes a large tiled walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a king and shares a jack and jill style bathroom with bedroom three featuring two double beds. Up the spiral stair case, you'll find a Twin and Double bed in the loft with an en-suite full bathroom. Perfect place for family and friends to get together!

Great house for a reunion

Less than expected

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were both good and bad things about the home. Lights that didn’t work, a LOT of pet hair on all our clothing (non-pet rental) not as “new” as advertised. Bonus room above garage was freezing. Small pull out didn’t fit my full size son! Washed a load of clothes and had more pet hair on than before washing. Loudest washer I have ever heard! Could have been a great stay. Layout was nice for family stuff. Overall a disappointment.

Not worth the price

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The photos are far better than the unit in person. We had a family of 9 staying here and in addition to the home feeling very worn out the bed sizes were incorrectly stated in the listing, once we arrived there were far different size beds in the home. Additionally, we found out on the last night we were there that the back door had not been locking, we would lock it every night and then realized the last morning it never locked, it was broken. The furniture was worn out, the kitchen appliances were sticky and worn out. The kitchen had very little stock serving items, dishes, etc. Overall for the price this home was not worth it and affected our family vacation. I would not recommend.

Wonderful home for 2 families close to beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were 7 of us in our party and we absolutely enjoyed this space. The outdoor area was well appointed. I loved the fact that the deck and pool were raised. It added security for me because of the alligators in the lagoon. We felt comfortable with our children outside ages 8, 9 & 11. The kids enjoyed the lovely pool. The men relaxed on the deck and bbq-d. The kitchens opens so you can see the deck area. The bonus room over the garage was the biggest hit. The kids played chess every day and we had a daily movie night on the wonderful huge tv with surround sound. The master bathroom with the rain shower was a hit as well. I personally enjoyed the sitting room everyday. I did a little work and it was a nice quiet space. We had a hard time getting inside the house on our arrival because the codes didn’t work. The maintenance crew came quickly to the rescue. Garbage pickup was Wednesday and Friday which you should note because our cans were full when we came on Saturday and we had animals in the overflowing trash area which caused us to see some bugs in the garage. Bring extra trash bags. The Vickie ride to the beach was exactly 7 minutes. We went everyday. It was the best. We come to Hilton Head every year and this unit was one of our favorites.

House was very nice

Very nice home. Location to beach was great. About an 8 minute walk and 2 minute bike ride. Very quiet and peaceful. Kids, teens and adults, loved the game room above the garage. The negatives were a ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom was broken and never replaced. Not sure why. We called maintenance and were told they have to talk to the owner. The pool was full of leaves, twigs, dirt and sand when we arrived. We were told on Tuesday someone would clean it Wednesday but no one showed up. A tropical storm came through early Thursday morning. It left leaves and branches all over the front steps, driveway, back deck and more debris in the pool. I called the front desk about someone coming to clean up but no one ever came. However, we noticed other properties being cleaned. We also noticed garbage trucks in the neighborhood during the week but our outdoor garbage cans were never emptied. I never received an explanation of why those things were not taken care of. Aside from those things, Palmetto Dunes is a great place to be with many things to do for everyone.

Nice accommodations

This is a great property for large groups. We loved the additional family room above the garage. It was an added plus that each bedroom had a bathroom off of it. The neighborhood is beautiful and an easy walk to the beach.

Our stay

There are some excellent features to this house. The bedrooms and beds are awesome! They house layout is great too! Lots of room for our family including 4 teens. The pool is nice but is smaller than it appears in the pics. This house could use some upgrades, such as new appliances, grill, and cookware. We had hoped to cook more but it was difficult with the grill being very dirty and the cookware (most of it old and rusting). The beach chairs need to be replaced as well. They were rusted and unusable. The house itself has so many wonderful features. If those items were upgraded, we would definitely return. The kids loved it! The location is great too!

Wonderful Stay in Palmetto Dunes

The house is very nicely decorated, clean and about 10 minute walk to the beach! The bonus room was great for watching movies or for early risers who did not want to wake other sleepers. The pool is a nice size and gets a good mix of sun and shade throughout the day. The listing didn’t mention, but the house has pool floats, cornhole board, grill and a few board games. Overall a great stay and would recommend.
