We had an unfortunate event with some water damage from the bathroom - however the host was able to rectify and fix the problems through fast and efficient communication and moved us to another unit. Despite those early problems we appreciated the flexibility by the host. Thanks!

It was a great location and size for our family. The house had a few quirks and updates needed but overall was perfect for our quick trip to the North Shore.
I've been to Lusten a number of times and have stayed in The Caribou Highlands a few times. These are the "mots affordable" ski in ski out rooms there.
This unit is ran by a large company Vs private owner. The unit was not overly clean (previous dishes were dirty, etc.) but it was on par with my expectations.
It is an end unit, so you get a bigger deck, which is nice.
The location of the property is great. As others have noted a few things could be updated as the condo is a little tired in some ways. We did have to ask for a few things like dish soap as the dishwasher is not the best.
This was a nice cozy condo. The kids (19, 16 and 16 yo) had their own beds with the bunk beds both full size. We didn’t use the trundle that was available in the bedroom with the bunk beds. There is a nice deck and propane grill. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools available on site and were surprised with music and outdoor food over the weekend on site. The owner was responsive and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!
Poor communication with Dean, he didn't call back as promised. TV, air conditioning not working, lacking basic items that you'd assume should be there. Didn't meet expectations. Would like compensation.
We used the condo as a home base during a skiing trip and it was largely fine. The access to the trails meant that our group had a lot of flexibility in coming and going in various combinations. The condo had all the necessary space and equipment to cook some meals and sleep everyone. Check-in was easy and the space for storing skis outside was great.
Some of the mechanicals of the condo are pretty dated or less efficient than we'd expected. The furnace had a squeak in the fan that ran nearly 24/7, which drove everyone nuts. The laundry is tiny and hard to access, which was fine for our one load but would be frustrating for a longer stay. The dishwasher is very loud, especially considering the space is open to the loft, and didn't do the best job. Decor-wise, there's some peeling wallpaper and mid-repair ceiling work, which didn't impact anything but definitely contributed to the feeling that it needed some work.
With some updating, this could be a great space for a small family spending time on the mountain.

Nice with flaws
The location was great. There were some flaws with our stay however. 3 light bulbs out. 2 in kitchen so it was really dark. Took lightbulbs from elsewhere to make them work. Also only had 2 dishwasher pods for a 4 night stay. We contacted the owner and he did bring lightbulbs but not for an entire day. He did not bring dishwasher pods but said he would get us some. They ended up bringing us some 2 1/2 days into our stay so I thought they forgot and ended up going and buying some. Also the dishwasher trap looked like it had never been cleaned and wasn’t cleaning dishes well so I had to clean out that by hand which was very gross. I would also recommend bringing a humidifier as the air was extremely dry and the unit did not cool down very well. The skiing was great and the ski in ski out was awesome!
This was a great place to stay for 4 nights. Conveniently located and ski in/ ski out. Nice gas fireplace and a large westward facing deck. Wish we used it more after shoveling it off! Nice to have the pool and hot tubs which we used every day after skiing. We have a 7, 5 and 3 year old that are still learning to ski. We could easily ski out, right the lift and then get on the gondola to the easier runs. I would highly recommend. Only complaint would be that the entry way was a little small, but that is the builder’s design. Thanks for the stay!
Great place to stay for a ski weekend at lutsen. If you intend on having more than 5 people staying with you, I would advise bringing air mattresses or sleeping bags.
We had a great time staying at this property. We were able to ski in and ski out one of the 4 days we were there. That was great! We had wonderful views and great meals. When we had an issue with the heat, we were able to get it resolved quickly. It was a wonderful vacation!
Jesse did a great job taking care of any issues with the property. Great location. only reason it was 4 stars is because the unit wasn't cleaned before we arrived. Jesse went above and beyond to help resolve the issues and was a very good communicator.
We enjoyed our stay at Caribou Highlands. The house was the perfect setup for a ladies weekend away. Everyone had plenty of space and having 3 bathrooms for 5 ladies was perfect. Thank you

Some what disappointing
The place was somewhat run down and needed to be updated and repaired. The fan on the air conditioner/ furnace had a very annoying high “pitch “ sound. Several lights did not work, closet door was broken, dishes were left in the dishwasher when we arrived, repairs for water damage to the ceiling and walls were noticeable and looked very crudely done and incomplete, lower level felt dark and damp. Overall it didn’t meet our expectations for what it cost to stay there.
