The Hondo Cabin @ Whiskey Mountain - 2 BD/1 Bath Great Location!

My place is close to Garner State Park (3 Miles), Lost Maples Park, Frio River, Concan, Utopia, Kerrville, & Uvalde. The famous three sisters (best driving roads in the USA) You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets), Pets are an additional $15 per pet, per night.
Sleeps 6-9 – This 2 bedroom cabin offers a queen size bed, Full over Full bunk bed, & 3 Twins (Includes a trundle)  full kitchen, bath, heat & air, BBQ grill and picnic table.
This cabin includes the following:
Fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, cookware, dishes, and utensils to prepare meals.
BBQ pit and picnic table with grilling utensils.
Covered front porch with patio furniture to sit, chit chat, read or just do absolutely nothing but enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country views!
Each bed has a quilt, pillow(s) and a mattress protector.  You must BRING your own Towels, Sheets, & Pillowcases (Queen, 2 Fulls, & 3 Twins).
Free Wi-Fi - Country Wifi is for basic texting b/c phone service is not always great. It is not intended for working or downloading music/movies.

  This cabin does NOT include the following:
Trash bags, zip lock bags, & Paper Products*** but we do supply you with ONE of the following to get you started: toilet paper, paper towel, trash bag, coffee. & sugar.

Great getaway location

Stayed over valentines weekend and close location to Garner state park was a bonus. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. The cabin is rustic, but clean and comfy.

Great getaway

This was a nice quiet location for us to get away from the city and enjoy the parks nearby. It was clean, cozy, and had all the essentials. We also liked that our dog was welcome. We will definitely be back.

GREAT place to stay

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at the Hondo Cabin at Whiskey Mountain Inn. The bed was comfortable, the A/C was at the perfect temperature for the hot weather & it was furnished & equipped with everything anyone would need! It was conveniently located between Leakey & Garner State Park with a lot to see & do in each direction! Cassie was quick to respond when we had questions. She & her staff were wonderful & made us feel at home. We told our family about Whiskey Mountain Inn & we will definitely return in the future.

A Great Getaway

It was so relaxing and peaceful. The fishing was outstanding. My daughter and I book a Father/Daughter trip every fall. This is definitely at the top of our trips.

Electricity wasn’t working when we arrived at the cabin. It took several calls until someone finally called back & let us know there was an outage in the area. I completely understand it was beyond their control, but a “sorry for the inconvenience” didn’t help the fact that it was very hot & we couldn’t slow cook our brisket on our electric grill & have it ready in time. Also had to spend extra money on things to accommodate that inconvenience. Definitely feel like we should get some kind of refund since we weren’t able to use the cabin until after 1 in the morning. It was a cute little cabin, great area, just very dirty. My allergies were acting up & realized the ceilings were covered in a thick layer of dust. The “clean” dishes were dirty & I had to wash every dish before I used it. There was mud on the floor as if it hadn’t been swept & mopped before we got there. They have a list of things they wanted done before checkout, or we’d be charged an additional cleaning fee. Which is understandable, if only it was in that condition upon arrival. Loved the area, kinda disappointed in my stay at the Hondo tho.

Never stayed in a cabin before, my little family of 5 loved it. Was a cute little cabin with enough room for all of us. We loved eating outside together. There were plenty of little stores nearby with a couple of options to go to the river. Everything was just minutes away. The hostess at the little shop was super helpful, def has a lot of good recommendations.

Cabin stay for the Frio

We go to the Frío every summer. This is the first time at Whiskey Mountain. We will definitely be back. Great layout for a big family and great location. Easy to get to all the places we love to visit.

Decent little cabin for a low price

Overall I was satisfied with my stay. I got what I expected considering what I paid for it compared to the prices nearby. There are only 2 reasons I did not give a 5 star: - There was no way to lock the door from the inside except using the key panel (which owners would have access). The deadbolt/chain were removed/disabled. This made me uneasy, so I would likely not stay again for this reason. - The shower was awful. Not a deal breaker for a 5 star considering the price, but had to mention 'cause I hated it so bad.

Quiet place convenient to state park and to local restaurants.

We were the only guests in the complex until the end of our stay. It was clean, peaceful, and convenient to stores, restaurants, and Garner State Park. Lots of space to walk the dogs without getting on the highway.

Awesome cabin!

We had a great time! The cabin was clean and the perfect size for the three of us, we could have brought more people! The host was super helpful in answering last minute questions we had when packing. The location was awesome. We spent our days at the beautiful Garner State Park. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful cabin!

My husband and I, and 2 teen boys, and dog greatly enjoyed this wonderful cabin! A great location for exploring Lost Maples and Garner State Park. The cabin was particularly awesome for our dog. Lots of space to walk around and enjoy "dog life". Thanks for a great stay!

Great Weekend Stay

Our stay was great. The cabin was centrally located to both parks we visited. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We were the only ones on the property so it was very peaceful and quiet. Definitely worth visiting.

My name is Cassie Hurles, I have always lived in Texas (Dallas & Houston Areas) and all my summers were spent at the Frio River area. I met my husband, Darren (Daz) in 2001 while he was working here in the states. He moved here from Scotland in 2001. We then had our son, Connor in February 2004 and our daughter, Isla in May 2008. The first time I took my husband to the Frio River he fell in love and we kept the family tradition going with our kids, making it a must every year. Then we moved to the beautiful Texas Hill Country in April 2015 & bought Whiskey Mountain Inn on July 22, 2016. We are looking forward to this new adventure.
