The cabin was absolutely perfect. It was clean, had a beauty fireplace, massive hot tub, and the downstairs area is such a bonus! I genuinely had one of the best weekends I’ve ever had here even though it was raining and snowing. We went out to the trails and waterfalls while it was raining which made them that much stronger. The next day we were completely snowed in, which turned out to be an amazing day to use the hot tub and play games all day. So relaxing.
We’ve been “cabin-hopping” since 2015, looking for a cabin that meets very simple requirements: a good working fireplace, and hot tub. Most wood-burning fireplaces seem to have annoying problems (too small to burn more than two logs at a time, not enough draft causes the cabin to fill with smoke, etc.). And we’ve had our share of hot tub disappointment. This cabin, though, was PERFECT. Great fireplace. Excellent firewood provided (well-seasoned, didn’t burn like kindling, as many wrapped and dry bundles as you’d need). Hot tub was private and had. Gorgeous view of the woods. After ten long years, we have FINALLY found our cabin!
The cabin itself is beautiful. Loved the location. The issues were the the hot tub was not hot, and the jets had very little pressure, and was very loud. Very disappointing. The water also did not appear very clean. There is a sign posted to shower before using the hot tub. Tried to shower in the upstairs bathroom and the shower did not work. Thankfully there are two full baths. After showering as I'm getting ready for bed I pull back the blanket and the top sheet is full of hair, some pubic hair, what looked like a food stain and even some crumbs. So very disgusted I informed Mike the next day and he did offer to have housekeeping bring me a fresh set. I politely declined as I only had one more night and slept in the bunk beds downstairs. There was also a spill in the freezer and hair in there as well. The wifi isn't the best as it went in and out a lot during my stay. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with everything you may need except a can opener.
Extremely nice cabin. The nicest one we’ve stayed at to date. Really enjoyed the large deck and hot tub. Hot tub could use an update, but it definitely served its purpose. Only downside would be that it’s too close to the other cabins. Guessing it was a guys weekend or something at the Aspen cabin. Could hear them most of the evening and even had dirt bikes or something going at 3:30 in the morning. All in all it was a great weekend.
What an amazing little cabin! I booked this cozy little cabin for a work out of the office trip. The cabin was clean and perfect. Everything was in great shape and provided just the atmosphere I needed to relax and work (two words that don't normally go together). I will definitely keep this cabin at the top of my list for future visits.
There were just a few things that needed attention. There was poison ivy growing up the post from the bottom porch to the top. The bath tub was slippery could use some non slip decals in the bottom. And the fan in the bedroom was very dusty. But the cabin was beautiful and we had a great stay would stay there again. Thank you
The cabin itself is nicely laid out, however, as soon as we walked in we were overwhelmed with a strong scent from a cleaning product. The cabin wasn't very clean. There were crumbs on and in both the couch and loveseat, food stuck on the trashcan, counters dirty, coffee pot had brownish liquid left in the pot as if they just rinsed it out and despite the smell of floor cleaner the floors were still dirty with crumbs and dead insects. The bedding in the main floor bedroom was filthy- bad smell and had what seemed to be food stuck to the comforter, so we had to make a trip to town to get laundry pods to wash the bedding before sleeping in it. Both of the bathroom tubs were filthy with dirt and dead insects so we also had to clean those before showering and they did not drain properly so when we showered it would fill up to about halfway (property manager was made aware of this)
Overall, we were not satisfied with our stay here. For them to charge a cleaning fee and it still be that filthy to where we had to go into town to buy cleaning products and a candle (the smell of the floor cleaner was awful, smelled like dirty dishwater) to clean the bathroom, bedroom, living room AND kitchen is unacceptable.
We were hoping to find a new cabin to be our regular getaway when we go to hocking because the one we normally stay at was sold and no longer able to be booked but due to the filth and the amount of cleaning we had to put into here, we will not be returning
We rented this cabin for my birthday with my 2 kids and husband. It was quiet and relaxing. We loved the hot tub and just hanging out on the back porch to eat after using the grill. We had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend.
Had a great stay in the Lazy Oaks cabin for our annual girls trip! Although there were other cabins nearby, it was very quiet here and felt tucked away in the woods. For the most part, all we heard were birds chirping! The cabin was fantastic - very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a great feature. Some other reviews had mentioned issues with the jets but we did not experience any problems. Would definitely book here again!
We love the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the cabin we stayed in for our weekend visiting the Hocking Hills area. The cabin provided a very peaceful time for us even on a rainy day during our weekend. We loved the fire pit area and hot tub. We had read in other reviews that the hot tub had some jets that didn’t work well and that was true, but we still enjoyed it. The upstairs bathtub drain was very slow, but there was another full bath that we used after realizing this seemed to be a problem. Overall, great stay and beautiful peaceful area for a weekend away.
3rd stay at lazy oaks and always relaxing, quiet, clean and Cozy. Back deck is great with plenty of room, hot tub & grill. Won't lie the bed left me with a achy back but its fine.
The cabin was just as pictured. The back deck is where we spent most of our time. The hot tub could definitely use an upgrade, most of the jets did not work. The property was great- quiet and no one around. The pool table downstairs helped for the rainy night we had. The steps down from the driveway to the front porch are quite steep(probably could use a railing of some sort). We did not use the fire pit as it rained majority of the time we were there.
