Home Away From Home
A lovely place in a gorgeous setting and so quiet and peaceful. We needed a few days away from the rat race of Auckland and this was perfect. Cambridge has a lot to offer for food and to stroll through the shops. Locals made a point of saying hello as we walked through the township, not something you get in Auckland. Staying at Karapiro just made the trip perfect. We did a day trip to Papamoa and then back to Karapiro for our last night before heading back to Auckland. Sue was a great host and had everything set for our arrival, we also got to meet April. Highly recommended!

Was in the area for a rowing regatta and the location was brilliant. Cottage had everything we needed and was well set up (although, given it poured with rain, a dryer would have been handy for all the rowing gear each night!). Appreciated that it had basic things like spreads and oil, and beautiful home made jams. Would definitely stay again.

OK BUT - could not contact Sue. Could not get TV1 or TV2 - and we are not dummies!!!!!!! Needed more heaters and bed side lamps. Was not really a "Cottage" it was the side of a "barn".

Te Awa Trail Cycling 115km adventure , Karapiro to Ngāruawāhia and back to cosy Pincots Cottage.

Absolutely loved staying in this gorgeous cottage. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect and beautiful spot for this country girl and her wedding party to get ready in for my big day. So much space, so much beauty and character and so lovely and clean. Loved it!! Want to go back just to hang there and enjoy that space alol over again.

The cottage is fabulous! Nice and private with a lovely rural view over the hills. Beds are super comfy and everything is spotlessly clean. Sue is a lovely host and makes the best plum jam and relish. Don’t hesitate to book. Just not on the days we want to go again!

Idyllic, charming, and so comfortable!
Everything about this Bach was perfect. It is gorgeous, well furnished with everything you need including homemade jam & chutney! Our two young (5, 2) kids got a real kick out of the young cows being in a pasture next door. They also loved the books and toys on hand. This place was so well kept, clean, and comfortable. If we come back to New Zealand we will definitely try to stay here again. April the spaniel was a sweetheart. Sue and Dave were excellent hosts. Thank you!

The cottage is wonderful with a beautiful setting and view. The cottage is private and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for great dinners on the deck. Great location with a short drive to many great destinations in the area. We will try to stay again!

Fantastic accommodation that was incredibly clean, well presented and convenient for Lake Karapiro and proximity to Cambridge itself. Would thoroughly recommend and having stayed at several alternate places previously in the area, would definitely return again based on how nice our stay was.

Such an amazing quiet little big place. The whole group enjoyed the little cottage. There was enough room to not feel on top of everyone but still felt cozy and home like. A quiet getaway for a break in life, this was perfect with a very well appointed place. Clean, tidy it had everything we needed, even a friendly, faithful pup. Definitely stay again if we hang in Cambridge again.

Having recently retired from dairy farming, my husband and I have settled on a small lifestyle block nestled in Karipiro. We raise a number of cattle, have some chickens and a small dog called April.

Why they chose this property


• Private cottage for your own comfort.
• The living area has a complete kitchen and comfortable lounge area.
• A ranch sliding door opens out to a larger decked area, outdoor table and chairs with unobtrusive view of Mount Maungatautari.
• The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal.
• Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cooking oil, salt and pepper supplied.
• The electric heat pump/air conditioner will keep you toasty warm in winter, and cool and comfortable in summer.
• The bedrooms allow for privacy and space. The large wardrobes are perfect for storing your gear.
• Sheets, blankets, pillows and towels provided.
• There is a washing machine and laundry powder.
• Unlimited wifi available.

Please note there are three bedrooms available with different bedding configurations, upon a booking request please specify the bedding arrangement you require.
Bedroom One has a king bed (sleeps 2)
Bedroom Two has a super king bed which can be configured into two king singles (sleeps 2)
Bedroom Three has a king bed and double bunk bed with a single bunk bed on top. This room also has an ensuite. (sleeps 5)
Bedrooms will be accessible depending on the numbers in your party.

The main residence resides on a separate driveway but provides peace of mind if assistance is required.
